  Basic and all needs an upgrade

  It's clean and everything works in the rooms. Very basic, but that is reflected in the cheap prices, so don't expect 5 star stuff. All a bit dated. Breakfast is ok, but lunch and dinner awful, so don't bother with the all inclusive for food. Good drinks tho. I won't be going back, but if you are after a very basic very cheap holiday then it's ok.

  I thought its time to leave a review. So we have stayed here 4 times this year now, and also 1 time last year. You definitely get what you pay for. There are some bungalows that are refurbished with new bathrooms, doors and windows and these are absolutely fine for the price you pay. We always treat it like home and go shopping and give the place a good clean and clean regularly while we are there. If you need fresh towels or bedding the reception arrange this for you, if you have a problem they send maintenence to fix it for you. The first time we went we had an old bungalow and it was like faulty towers and I swore id never book again but it appeared for 12 euros a night at the start of this year and I thought why not. Since then we have only ever had refurbished rooms. Never had a issue, always done self catering, place is close to lots of bars and a short down hill walk into town. The pools are cleaned every morning at 7am so the reviews that state they aren't im not sure where they come from as im sat outside having coffee watching them every morning. I wouldn't go all inclusive as it just doesnt appeal to me anyway, caleta has plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from anyway. We hire an air fryer and fan from Harry's in town and never have any issues with the room. A holiday is what you make it and when you can get a week there for less than 2 nights in a premier inn you can't complain. I do understand if you get one of the old bungalows but I guess its pot luck really. Same with the staff, never had any issues with them, after witnessing how some of them are spoken to by tourists complaining im not surprised they may appear moody or rude to the next person and some people really do speak and treat them terribly. Its not the ritz and I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to someone but for the price it it what it is. If you've booked dont worry.

  Good potential, but the basics are missing

  You really do get what you pay for here. We booked because it was cheap, so expectations were low, but even so, some of the basics were disappointing.The apartment was a good size and clean on arrival, but despite requesting a double, we got two single beds. One was comfortable; the other had springs sticking through the mattress. The heat was also awful, with the apartment regularly reaching 35°C+, only a useless ceiling fan in the living room and nothing in the bedroom. Fans can apparently be rented for €40, but there weren’t any available when we asked. We ended up buying our own from the town for €30.There’s also no WiFi in the rooms, not even paid WiFi, and our towels weren’t changed once during our week despite this being advertised as every three days.The location is a definite positive, with plenty of reasonably priced bars, restaurants, takeaways and a supermarket on site. It’s around a 15-minute walk downhill into town, and the pools are large and pleasant.Most staff were friendly, but one male member of staff, who appeared to work nights, was particularly unpleasant. We raised the issue of a hairdryer because Loveholidays had advertised one as included. Rather than simply explaining that hairdryers were apparently only provided in superior apartments, he became visibly frustrated and repeatedly complained about Loveholidays causing them problems. The way it was handled made us feel as though we were somehow responsible for the issue, which was uncomfortable. The hotel chooses to advertise through Loveholidays, so discrepancies in what is advertised really shouldn’t be taken out on guests. Thankfully, another member of staff later brought a hairdryer to our room. It is 15 mins from the airport and €17. Overall, it has potential, but it’s let down by the basics. A fan, WiFi, decent mattresses and towels being changed as advertised really shouldn’t be luxuries. Fine if you’re looking for somewhere very cheap, but don’t expect much beyond that.

  No frills break away!

  Visited for a girls trip and before coming we were a little worried after reading the reviews. But we needn’t have been! Everyone was really friendly! We met some great people there and had such a laugh. Pools were lovely and lots to choose from. Food was basic but nice! The area is alright, easy walk to town and the beachfront. Supermarket nearby. Our apartment was basic but clean. No concerns at all! If you’re looking for a cheap no frills break then this will do just fine. I don’t think I would return with children but as a group of mates, I would! Thanks for our fun stay, sorry for the chaos we bought and much love to the people we met and the bar staff that were fab! :)

  Absolutely repulsive food and building-site resort.

  My friend and I are 70 year old pensioners. We were put in a bungalow at the furthest corner of the site and next to a main road. On our first night, we were warned by another guest to keep our windows closed, as there had been a number of burglaries. I asked to be moved, but was told there was no alternative bungalow available.The food is absolutely shocking!!! Every bite of food was a guessing game, as there was no indication as to what the meat actually was. On one occasion the notice above said 'Mouse!'Anything served up for lunch, was added to the evening meal, disguised as something else. The piece de resistance was the white and red cabbage, which was mixed with tinned fruit salad for the evening meal.... I kid you not.The so-called Chef had the audacity to walk round asking guests if they were enjoying their food!The bar staff were friendly, but there is absolutely no entertainment and no-where to sit and have a comfortable drink in the evening.The swimming pool had 'frothy scum' floating along one side, which the staff scooped out with a dirty green bucket, every half hour or so.Avoid this cess-pit like the plague!
