  Second visit and not the last

  That this is our second visit this year speaks volumes. Far enough away from the bars and shops of Costa Calma for blissful quiet, yet close enough to make a quick trip for essentials very easy. The immediate access to a small beach which forms part of Playa Esmeralda is a huge attraction for us, the beach is clean, pretty quiet and the swimming is just gorgeous. If you lean towards prim and proper though be prepared to look skyward relatively often to avoid nature in all its glory. The grounds and pool areas are kept very clean and arranged so as to promote the Hotels’ most cherished attributes of peace and quiet. We made almost daily use of the gym, a good range of free weights and machines, and the sauna which are refreshingly unregulated. My girlfriend had a massage treatment for her head and neck, she thought the clinician knowledgeable and expert. We enjoyed the food, tons of fresh produce, fish and a variety of meat and vegetarian options. The occasional theme, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Mexican provided variation rather than authenticity. The staff were, without exception, delightful. The prevailing attitude amonst them all was of a genuine desire to please, with a smile thrown in. Special mention must go to Wadji and his entertainment team. From serene morning yoga on the beach (or in the pool on a supboard) through Spanish dancing lessons to a wide variety of evening acts, Wadji was ever smiling with a ready word of gentle encouragement. We will be back.   Amazing location by the beach

  Beautiful location by the beach . Hotel dated and in need of maintenance. had no air-conditioning, making it impossible to use . Swimming Pool was clean, but areas needed attention, especially the sun beds and sides of pool Massage. It was amazing book early ! If you like to share your holiday with german nudists, you will love it here. The age of the clients where over 70 no atmosphere and unfortunately, we had some unwanted guests in our room (cockroahes). We where moved but had to insist it had to happen that night. No offer of a drink etc had to ask if maybe a bottle of wine would help calm our nerves . Food in the snack bar was disgusting. Sent it back and was told it wouldn't come off our bill as not possible !   Wonderful hotel with amazing staff

  An amazing hotel, in a peaceful location. We chose the Privilege package and it was well worth it. Our double room had an amazing sea view from the balcony. It was kept spotlessly clean by Jholy and the Housekeeping team. With two visits a day, including a turn down service and chocolates on the pillow.From the the moment we were greeted by Fran on Reception, we knew that we had made an excellent choice. Vanessa, Stefi, Ruth and Shirley assisted with making our A la Carte dinner reservations and even provided a kettle upon our request so that we could have a morning cup of tea. The meals in the El Jable Restaurant at Breakfast and Dinner were amazing. Beautifully presented and delicious, with an extensive Hot and Cold Buffet selection in the morning and tempting choices in the evening. All of the staff are amazing and a credit to the H10 Hotel brand. Thank you Montse, Loli, Paula, Lorena, Ruth, and to the wonderful waiters Facundo, Nane, and Manuel. We looked forward to seeing you each evening and tasting all of the delicious food, including the Chef's recommendations for the dayWe had lunch mainly in the Maxorate Pool Bar, all of the dishes on offer were very tempting, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Thank you to Victoria who looked after our drinks orders in the Jandia Restaurant at lunchtime.The Privilege Lounge provides may snacks both savoury and sweet during the day, together with a wide selection of drinks. And Mike's Cafe was very tempting as well.There was a wide selection of Premium Brand drinks available in the Blue Bar and the Maxorata Bar. Thank you Flavia, Tania and Estefania for looking after us so well together with all of the male bar staff. I am so sorry if I have not mentioned you personally by name.The standard of the Evening entertainment was very good with a wide variety of choice.The beach is a few steps away, and there is easy access to several of the shopping centres including the HyperDino and Spar Supermarkets. We found numerous walking routes to take around the resort including along the beach to watch the Squirrels and the leafy tree lined path where the market is held on Wednesday and Fridays.We had an amazing holiday and we thank you all so much for making it so special for us. We look forward to returning again for many more visits in the future.   A home from home!

  I'll start by saying that it's the 5th time we've stayed at the H10 Esmeralda and as a very well seasoned traveller, we've never returned to any hotel more than twice! An excellent location, with vast beaches and being very European, you will find some nude bathers dotted about, which suits us fine! The hotel is super, the rooms spacious and clean, as is the rest of the hotel! The main restaurant offers a fabulous range of cuisine, with the added bonus of the show cooks in the evening, it's hard not to over indulge and its improved even from two years ago! The service is fabulous, the cleaners, the waiters, bar staff, the duty managers and a special nod to the activities manager, all of you, brilliant! I've noted in recent years a sense of real pride in the hotel, so please, when you visit, pay the staff the respect they deserve, for all the hard work that goes in to making your holiday great! Don't be the cup half empty grumbler, there's plenty of other places you can stay! The hotel has many regular and loyal guests that return the same times each year, as we have and for good reason!   Good standard of hotel

  Arrived early evening, the check in process is slow but we were offered a glass of sparkling wine or juice whilst we went through the registration process.Rooms are spacious and we had a lovely large balcony with a sea view. The bathroom was dated but it was clean, and had a nice powerful shower. The beds were comfy but the pillows were showing wear in them (lumpy). One minor observation, we used the drinking glasses each day, but they were not cleaned or replaced.We stayed on a half board basis and there was a variety of food choice for both breakfast and evening and dishes were regularly topped up. Drinks weren't too expensive either and the white wine was very drinkable! All drinks purchased go on the room tab.There was live music/shows laid on for guests in the evening.We went to the Stromboli restaurant one of the evenings. The portion sizes are small - best option for the main is the pizza. There is a nice little sandy beach on the doorstep of the hotel, although be mindful that if it's not your vibe, it is a nudists beach. The beach sets are expensive (2 sunbeds & 1 umbrella €15). At the beginning of the week there was plenty of sunbeds available around the hotel pool in the mornings, but by the weekend we struggled to get a sunbed/umbrella set. There's various activities around the pool and hotel grounds. It was also a nice thoughtful touch that any exercise activities didn't have loud music, which kept the atmosphere calm and relaxing. There's a couple of shops on the hotel grounds which accepts cash/card payments and a coffee shop (goes onto the room tab) The hotel is located around a 15 minute walk away from a small shopping centre. There's a couple of restaurants there but not many and none immediately by the hotel.Overall it was a nice hotel, although the area is a little remote, with only other hotels/apartments in the immediate vicinity. Food was good for buffet food and staff were helpful.
