  Perfect hotel for a beach holiday

  Returned to the Faro Jandia for a one week break. I have stayed there many times previously with my wife but more recently with my son. We had booked a sea view room through Jet2 holidays on a half board basis. Unfortunately the flight times were poor so we only arrived at the hotel shortly before midnight . The transfer is the worst thing about staying in Jandia as the coach transfer also takes in Costa Calma and the Faro Jandia tends to be the last stop. I certainly would recommend hiring a car and making your way unless you are staying for a longer period then the hotel will offer a free transfer if you book direct .We had a quick and friendly check in with a glass of fizz and then made our way to our room which was located at the far side of the hotel which can be quite a walk but has the benefit of getting the sunshine late in the afternoon.The rooms have not changed since I started going there but they are spacious with plenty of storage space and a generous bathroom with overhead shower bidet etc which all worked well. I find the beds comfortable and bed linen towels etc are all changed regularly. I must also mention the cleaners who do a wonderful job .Breakfast I noticed has had a slight change in that coffee machines have been installed as opposed to being brought to your table which was not to my sons liking as he preferred the coffee with warm milk. Apart from that it was business as usual with a wide variety of fruits cold meats breads etc with a hot section providing eggs bacon and omelettes .Dinner usually had a different theme however the highlight must go to the selection of deserts which was top drawer every night. The quality of the main courses can be mixed however and it is certainly geared to a German taste which might not suit some. The bar also was friendly and efficient with generous measures being provided all the way through our holiday.One of the biggest selling points of the hotel is the staff. Some have been there for years but overall both in the dining room and the bar we found it faultless.The other selling point is its location being right next to a wonderful beach and centrally located with the town for access to shops etc. You could get the wrong impression when you arrive given that it is right next to an amusement arcade but once you enter into the hotel you are in a different world.I have always found the hotel entertainment pretty poor and this year was no exception. They have tried different things but it still is not great but to be honest my son and I tended to walk into town so it didn't affect us but it might be noticed by other guests.The spa is also available with an indoor pool sauna etc and I small gym open 24 hours.I have no doubt I shall return at some point but next time I will be hiring a car.

  Wonderful place!

  Spent 18 nights here in August and what a beautiful place this is. From the moment we walked through the front door it felt like stepping into an oasis of calm. Welcomed with a glass of Cava while Jan and the reception team checked us in. Beautifully decorated and serene. Rooms spotless and aircon, fridge, kettle etc very welcome. Very comfy beds and the balcony had a great view of the lighthouse, beach and sea. Rooms cleaned everyday, towels changed regularly and sheets changed on demand. Mini-bar available if required. Restaurant was very chilled and there was always a good choice of very good quality food. Depending on the menu some things were cooked to order for you. Considering it was buffet service there was plenty of variation each night. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choice. It was nice to not feel rushed at all and be allowed to eat in our own time - sometimes it nice to just watch the world go by. Some reviews I'd read before going said that the restaurant staff were grumpy and rude. Not sure they were reviewing the same hotel as all the staff were lovely and very friendly. The pool area was beautiful and even when it was busy there were always sunbeds available. Free water top ups available at the bar was a bonus too. and after a hard day sunbathing by the pool having free use of the beautiful spa to relax was a bonus. Beautiful location directly opposite the lighthouse and a huge sandy beach. Nice range of shops to explore and supermarkets 5 mins away in either direction if you needed anything. Pleasant stroll along the front to Morro Jable which is much more built up and busy. Overall the atmosphere was very chilled and relaxed. Yes there were a lot of older visitors but there were also plenty of families and children. Evening entertainment most nights but it wasn't overbearing and finished at a reasonable hour. If you are looking for 24/7 party time then this isn't for you. If like us you are looking for a chilled relaxing peaceful break then this is the perfect place. Already planning on booking again.   Our Annual Hotel Faro visit...perfect..

  Just returned from our annual Hotel Faro holiday, wouldnt go anywhere else, have tried the others and for us this is the best.Once again a very enjoyable stay.Hotel is spotless, food is good, resaurant is nice to relax and enjoy your meal, choice.of inside or out, not like a school canteen. staff is friendly, reception is so helpful. I have a health/mobility problem and they do as much as needed for me, make sure I have a room without stairs. Good evening entertainment.Yes there are mostly German people but this time more British people were there. No rowdy drinkers, very quiet, just what we needed to relax.   Great hotel, great location. An oasis of peace and relaxation

  The loveliest hotel in the loveliest area. Location right on the beach and salt marshes meaning wonderful walks, views and in nature as well as being along a really lovely shopping street. Beach and sea were lovely. Morning runs were scenic and peaceful.The hotel itself was amazing. Friendly greeting with cava on arrival. Treated with such a warm welcome after a long trip. Rooms were lovely, clean and well maintained. Food was great. Even when not keen on the choices there was always something to eat. Desserts were amazing and staff friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There were always sunbeds available and none of the sunbed wars you often get.Pool clean and well lifeguards.The spa was wonderful and when on the one occasion there were young people messing around staff sorted it instantly. I cannot think of a single thing I would change except staying longer (and we stayed for 3 weeks!)First trip to Jandia and goat stay in a MUR hotel. If we could come for Christmas we absolutely would be and we will definitely be back. So many lovely days in the most welcoming place I have stayed - definitely recommend wholeheartedly!
