Location

This beach hotel may be found just 400 m from the inviting sandy beach of Jandía, right in the south of the island of Fuerteventura. The holiday resort of Jandía and it's countless shops, restaurants and bars are within walking distance (10 min).

Facility

Guests have a choice of 570 rooms and 11 suites. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services such as a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available.     Currently staying at Occidental Jandía Playa and, unfortunately, the experience has been extremely underwhelming.Rooms & ConnectivityThe rooms are dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. Worse still, the Wi-Fi is virtually non-existent throughout the majority of the accommodation blocks, forcing you to trek to the main building just to get a usable connection. Because cellular signal is also incredibly poor across multiple networks, staying connected is a constant struggle.Bars & Pool AreaThe bars are severely understaffed, often operating with just a single staff member left to serve an entire crowd of guests, resulting in ridiculous queues. Meanwhile, down at the pool, there is a total lack of parasols unless you have paid extra for Royal Level access. I didn't realize basic access to shade from the burning sun was considered a premium privilege.The Restaurant: A Disorganized DisasterThe dining experience has been the absolute lowest point of the holiday. Food stations are frequently running low, and there is almost zero allergen or ingredient labeling available. As someone who suffers from severe anaphylaxis, this is a massive safety hazard. I raised this critical concern with Guest Relations on two separate occasions and was assured it had been noted in my file. Despite this, there is no clearly identifiable point of contact within the restaurant to discuss ingredients, and the floor staff are entirely unhelpful and oblivious.What is even more infuriating is the blatant mismanagement of the seating area. Large sections of the restaurant are routinely cordoned off, leaving paying guests struggling to find anywhere to sit. When I politely asked if a closed section could be opened—given that there were literally no suitable alternative tables available for our party—I was met with dismissive, defensive, and unnecessarily rude responses from the waiting staff.It is utterly baffling logic to keep half the restaurant empty and closed off while paying guests are forced to wander around hopelessly searching for a table.The attitude of the restaurant staff is shockingly poor. Instead of being hospitable or accommodating, they treat guests like an outright inconvenience. The combination of non-existent safety standards, terrible organization, and hostile attitudes turns every mealtime into a daily battle.SummaryOverall, this hotel falls tragically short of its rating. I still have 12 days remaining of my stay to either endure or suffer through, but based on what I have encountered so far, I will absolutely never return.The Only Positive: The animation team deserves massive recognition. They are genuinely friendly, incredibly enthusiastic, and work tirelessly to try and create a good atmosphere despite the hotel's wider failures.     Rooms are dated with broken tiles on the floor. All inclusive is poor, food runs out and no more offered/cooked for influx of guests at various times and mostly cold with limited choice. Not enough staff in dining area. Running out of cutlery and plates. Cockroaches seen at the dining table.Pool area is nice, however if you like a chair rather than a lounger. There isn’t any. I would not recommend this hotel.     I had great experience with SPA, with deep tissue massages. I would honestly recommand amazing and very professional therapists - Isabella and Katy. I stayed for 3 sessions and felt like received a new lighter body 😍 experience for body and soul! The overall hotel impression is a bit worse than 2 years ago, but personel compensates the mass production experience.
