  Avoid like the plague!!

  Appalling! Looks jaded and in need of a good refurb. Checking in a bit slow although we were the only people there. They put a bracelet on you to signify board - scratchy and tacky. First room (170), we noticed ants so collected a few and took them to reception. He assured us the room would be cleaned. On return to the reception, we were told it had been cleaned and the problem solved but on returning to the room, we found they had left us the ant sparky! Still had ants overnight so the following day we asked to be moved and took more ants. They did move us, well they have us a key and said we could move. Repacked everything and moved to 183. Broken bathroom door handle but no ants. Good point -some of the waiters/porters in the restaurant are pleasant. Food is mediocre to say the least. If you don't get there as they open service, the quality quickly goes down hill. Not hot, not typically Mediterranean. Brakes Brothers puddings. Wine is on tap so white, rise and red are all chilled. No coffees available at dinner. Have to chase to find someone to cook fresh eggs at breakfast. We bumped into the manager on our last day and recounted our experience. He did offer to grant us access to he neighbouring sister hotel for the day and also offered to move us again. We declined both as a visit to a themed food night at the neighbouring hotel a couple of days earlier had been 'an experience' too!If you visit Costa Calma I would strongly recommend avoiding SBH Taro Beach hotel and the other SBH along the same road. TARO beach hotel states it is 4* - it isn't. It would struggle to get a 2* in our opinion. Very poor value for money. Costa Calma itself is lovely, quite, sea and beach clean. Sun beds are 15 euros per day though. Also, be warned about the shop opposite the hotel called Patel Brothers. I used a card and was told it hadn't gone through so used it again. Four days later, I notice on the statement that it has been taken twice! In rare cases, especially in warmer climates, such occurrences can happen, but they are treated immediately. You were also offered an alternative room, which demon-strates our willingness to resolve the matter.Concerning maintenance, any issue such as the bathroom handle can and should be re-ported to reception so it can be fixed promptly. Our team is always available to assist.As for the food, our buffet is designed to offer a variety of options in line with our All Inclusive concept and hotel category. Hot dishes are continuously replenished during service, and live cooking stations are available at set times. Preferences regarding cuisine are, of course, subjective.The wristbands are standard practice in All Inclusive hotels and serve to identify the board type efficiently.We also note that management offered you additional solutions during your stay, in-cluding access to a sister hotel and a further room change, both of which you declined.Finally, we would like to point out that external businesses, such as shops in the sur-rounding area, are not related to our hotel and operate independently.While we regret your overall impression, we do not agree with your assessment of the hotel’s category or value for money, which reflects the experience of the majority of our guests.Kind regards,SBH Taro Beach Hotel Management

  Lovely hotel, right by the beach

  I stayed in this hotel for 10 days, room 503 which was on the ground floor and close to the pool. Overall a lovelystay. The rooms are very clean and spacious with hairdryer, fridge, plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. I would have appreciated a bottle of water in the room when I arrived as I arrived very late in the evening. No kettle-I took a travel kettle. There was plenty of variety of food in the restaurant and I managed easily despite being vegetarianOne problem is the Wi-Fi. I couldn’t get Wi-Fi in the room and had to sit in reception of an evening. Reception staff are very helpful. There is a useful shop in the reception area (I managed to get a daily English newspaper). There is also a commercial centre with plenty of shops immediately opposite the hotel entrance and a market about 25 metres away on a Wednesday. In reception there is also a shelf of books to borrow but they are virtually German, as are most of the guests. Overall, a very nice stay.   the worst vacation

  we stay at sbh tarro beach and it was our worst family trip ever! we were robbed in hotel room, no one help us - on reception didnt want to call police so we call. manager didnt help us at all, he want from us to be quiet and dont talk around what happened. he didnt take any time for us to talk, always wait till tommorow. we pay fot 2 rooms, get only 1 because all ropms was full??! didnt wanr to give us refund! food was similar evry day, nothing great or wow, just regular... Also the cleaning was every 2-3 days, no one came to change the towels, old rooms.... the animation was only for people with big wallats, our kids was not importatnt for animation team.... sad sad sad.... change the manager!   I will start my review with more points to make sure that everyone will have in their mind . First of all , you don’t have internet ( even if they provide at the entrance , is not working at all) , only 2-3 plugs to charge your phone or what you have , you don’t have in the room not even a glass that you can put some water to drink , a plate or something . In my opinion with a baby is quite difficult and not nice to don’t have some essential stuff . The cleaning stuff are a little annoying , first 2 days we got a lovely lady that make amazing cleaning , on 3rd day that one I don’t know why she even entry in our room because she don’t even change the towels. So disappointed!!!With the food it was ok but not so much variety because it was always the same, everyday . You have to walk 20 minutes to a supermarket if you want to buy something because the local stores are super expensive . So they need to think more about putting some stuff in the room , like glasses , a kettle , an iron , plates , sink and all that things that you find in another places . I was expecting something else because on the photos everything look amazing but when you arrive there the sofas so old and looking so dirty and more stuff . The location is nice , near the beach but that’s it ! We are an All Inclusive hotel, and all services, facilities and room equipment are very clearly described on our official website and booking platforms. Items such as kettles, plates, sinks or cooking equipment are not part of our concept. Meals and drinks are provided in our restaurants and bars, and taking buffet food to the rooms is not permitted.We provide free WiFi. As in any property, signal strength may vary depending on loca-tion or occasional network issues, but it is offered free of charge, especially in reception and main common areas.Regarding housekeeping, our staff are professionals who follow a work schedule and, like any employees, have days off. They are not on duty endlessly. Towel replacement is carried out according to standard procedures and environmental policies. Daily replace-ment is not always necessary, nor is it common practice in many households.Concerning the food, certain basic items (such as rice, fries, pasta and pizza) are consist-ently available, while the rest of the buffet selection rotates daily.
