    Hospitality rules

    rating17 May 2026

We were horrified by how the customers are treated by the waiters, bartenders. Although we paid a lot for all inclusive, we felt like an intruder, we were bothering the staff because we were there. All compliments for the chefs, for the diversity of the dishes, for the kindness of the receptionists, from cleaners. It would be ideal if the staff were trained on the rules of hospitality. Web SBH, Ventas at SBH Maxorata Resort, responded to this review Dear 507jenicac,Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are pleased to read your positive comments regarding our chefs, reception team, and housekeeping staff, and we truly appreciate your recognition of their efforts. However, we are very surprised by your remarks concerning our restaurant and bar staff. Our teams work extremely hard every day in a very busy international environment, serving hundreds of guests with different languages, expectations, and service rhythms. Hospitality is precisely what they dedicate themselves to daily.Of course, there can occasionally be moments of stress or misunderstandings, especially during peak service hours, but we do not believe it is fair to suggest that our staff lacks knowledge of hospitality standards. Many guests repeatedly highlight the friendliness and dedication of our employees, which we are very proud of.Nevertheless, we always take constructive criticism seriously and will continue working to improve wherever possible.Kind regards,The Management

    Nightmare holiday

    rating11 May 2026

Extremely disappointing. We visited Maxorata last year and the place is falling apart unfortunately. The hotel was refurbished almost a decade ago and it appears that it hasn't been touched ever since. Jorge at reception is lovely and said they only have 1/3 occupancy and it's very quiet. But, while at reception, it became apparent that they place people in the worst rooms and then offer better ones for €15-50 extra per night. To top that you have to pay €4.50 a day just to use the room safe!!Our rooms are outdated and in desperate need of an upgrade. There's waste left in corridors and has been there since yesterday. A hotel should ideally want to have happy customers so they come back again. Unfortunately we won't be coming back here again. SBH management should focus on customer care and quality instead of a quick profit. Web SBH, Ventas at SBH Maxorata Resort, responded to this review Dear Emma_Ry_Brighton,We are sincerely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify several points mentioned in your review.First of all, rooms are allocated according to the category booked by each guest and the availability at the time of arrival. There is no policy whatsoever of “placing guests in the worst rooms” in order to later offer paid upgrades. Possible room upgrades are a common practice within the hotel industry and are always entirely optional.Regarding the safe, the daily supplement is clearly indicated in the hotel information and covers, among other things, maintenance, insurance, and technical control of these devices. As for the condition of the hotel, we are fully aware that, as a large resort exposed to coastal weather conditions, continuous maintenance is necessary, and our technical team works constantly on upkeep and improvements. We are also surprised by the statement regarding low occupancy, as May remains an active tourism period in Fuerteventura.Concerning the items left in the corridors, we regret this impression. However, in a resort of this size, it can occasionally happen that guests temporarily leave trays or personal items outside their rooms before they are collected by staff. Finally, we must respectfully disagree with the suggestion that our focus is on “quick profit.” The fact that many guests return year after year is precisely because we strive to offer good value for money, a privileged location, and friendly service. We regret that your stay did not leave you with a more positive impression and appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion.Kind regards,**The Management**

    Value for money and luxury.

    rating04 May 2026

We stayed at SBH Maxorata last week, having read previous reviews we didn't know what to expect so this is our opinion of the resort and location. We arrived early, before check in time but shown straight to our room. The man on reception was very helpful showing us where everything was, what was included, what wasn't in the all inclusive package (if you want fancy coffee out of the big fancy machine be prepared to pay 1 euro!!, if you're happy with good coffee out of the self service machine then don't worry!)Our room was clean, large and cool with a sea view. Much to my wife's displeasure we a double bed lol. Many reviews complained about the food. I hasten at this point to say I am not a fussy eater. I also would remind you of the low cost it is to stay there. The food was good, varied with something for everyone. The goat, rabbit cows liver, fish etc were a welcome change for me. My wife, a little on the fussy side, always found plenty to eat. The salad and cold options were immense. There is also a snack bar by the pool. They call it a snack bar, I would call it a self service restaurant had so much choice again. The staff were always lovely, although did take the p*ss out of my pigeon Spanish! Drinks were good and always available. I particularly liked the caipiroska. The location is lovely, sea views in every direction and a short walk to the local amenities.I can't really fault this resort! Web SBH, Ventas at SBH Maxorata Resort, responded to this review **English:**Dear Matt,Thank you so much for your fantastic and detailed review. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share such a balanced and honest opinion after your stay with us.We are delighted to hear that your experience exceeded the expectations created by some previous reviews and that you enjoyed both the resort and the location so much. It’s wonderful to know that you appreciated the warm welcome from our reception team, the spacious sea-view room, and the wide variety of food available throughout the hotel. We especially smiled reading your comments about the goat, rabbit, and liver dishes — not every guest is adventurous enough to try them! 😊 We are also pleased that even your wife, despite being “a little on the fussy side,” always found plenty to enjoy.Thank you as well for recognising the effort and friendliness of our staff. And we can assure you — your “pigeon Spanish” probably brought plenty of smiles to the team’s day too! 😉We’re also very happy that you enjoyed the drinks, the snack bar, the beautiful views, and the overall atmosphere of the resort.Comments like yours are extremely valuable because they reflect realistic expectations combined with appreciation for what the hotel offers in terms of value, location, and service. We sincerely hope to welcome you and your wife back again very soon.Kind regards,**The Management**

    Ruined by rude restaurant staff

    rating03 May 2026

Supposed to be here for a week and only been here for one day but am currently looking at staying somewhere else for the rest of the week. Pools and facilities and views are actually amazing but I’ve found SOME of the staff to be incredibly rude. I just got kicked off of a table mid way through my dinner (I’m assuming it was reserved but not totally sure as it didn’t say)by a really rude restaurant attendant, he didn’t speak English so wasn’t sure but I’ve never been made to feel like that while being away before. He was just shouting at me and I didn’t understand what was happening. Really really disappointed and didn’t finish my dinner and just went back to my room where I will now stay for the night. :( I’m travelling alone and suffer from anxiety so this has really ruined my trip here. Web SBH, Ventas at SBH Maxorata Resort, responded to this review Dear Michael,First of all, we are sincerely sorry that you felt uncomfortable during this situation, espe-cially while travelling alone and dealing with anxiety. We completely understand that an unpleasant misunderstanding during dinner can negatively affect your experience. However, we would also like to provide some context regarding what may have hap-pened. In the restaurant, certain tables are reserved or assigned to ensure the smooth organisation of the service, particularly during busy periods. Most likely, the staff mem-ber was trying to explain this to you while also dealing with the added difficulty of a language barrier and a busy service moment. We are surprised to read that you felt the employee was “shouting,” as our team is very used to working with international guests and makes a great effort every day to com-municate, even when they do not perfectly speak the guest’s language. Sometimes, what may come across as abrupt is simply a stressful situation or a communication difficulty, never an intention to make a guest feel unwelcome. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the facilities, pools, and views, and we sincere-ly hope you decide to continue your holiday with us so that you can leave with a more complete and positive impression of the hotel.Kind regards,The Management
