  It’s my favourite holiday!!

  Leaving tomorrow after a 2 week stay which I’m very sad about :( this is our 4th year coming here and have added a few extra days to our stay each year we come, and this year has been by far the best year we’ve had, probably because it’s been the longest. The animation team have been amazing, especially David and who we call Harry aka merljn they’ve been absolute legends and so fun. The foods great, staff are friendly, yes it could do with a bit of a do up here and there but we’ve never had a problem here. As usual I never want to leave but can’t wait to be back this time next year - hopefully for even longer!!

  Lovely location and views. The room was okay although the bed was a bit hard and gave me a sore back. Most of the staff are lovely apart from one of the African cleaners who was very rude for no reason which ruined the experience a bit for me. Food was a bit bland and they serve the same stuff everyday which got boring quickly. I thought it a bit overpriced for what it was but decent enough. Whatever the reason may have been, nobody wants an interaction like that during their holiday. Thankfully, we're pleased to hear that you found the rest of our team lovely.It's also a shame the food didn't really win you over. We offer a varied buffet with dishes that change, alongside some favourites that are served regularly, but we understand that after a few days it can still start to feel repetitive.Your description of the hotel as “decent enough” tells us that there were things you enjoyed, but also that we didn't quite give you the experience you had hoped for.   Very disappointing stay – ants in the children’s bedroom and poor customer serviceWe stayed at the hotel from 29 August to 4 September, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing.We found live ants in the children’s bedroom, which was extremely concerning and unacceptable. We reported the problem to reception several times, expecting it to be properly investigated and resolved. Unfortunately, the issue was not dealt with satisfactorily.Instead, we were simply left with some spare food, which obviously did not resolve the problem of ants in the bedroom.What made the situation even more frustrating was the attitude of the receptionist. On several occasions, the reception area was busy with the bar, but this does not excuse the rude and unhelpful way our complaints were handled. We were simply trying to raise a genuine cleanliness issue concerning our children’s room.We paid for a hotel stay expecting a clean, safe and comfortable environment. Having live ants in our children’s bedroom and having to complain repeatedly without the problem being properly resolved was extremely disappointing.I hope management takes this complaint seriously and reviews both their housekeeping standards and customer service, because this is not the standard guests should have to accept. Having to return several times because you felt it hadn't been resolved would only have added to your frustration.Fuerteventura's warm climate does mean that ants and other small insects can occasionally find their way indoors, even in rooms that are cleaned every day. We have regular professional pest-control treatments in place, but unfortunately it is impossible to guarantee that an insect will never appear. That said, when it happens, the important thing is how the situation is handled.And this is where we are most disappointed by your comments. Regardless of how busy reception may have been, you should have felt that your concern was being listened to and taken seriously. We are sorry that instead you came away feeling that you had to keep asking for help and that the way you were spoken to was neither friendly nor helpful.We don't believe the appearance of ants automatically means that a room is unclean, but we absolutely understand that you wanted a proper solution, particularly because it was your children's sleeping area.Thank you for telling us what happened.
