    Lovely location near restaurants and has separate boat stop from the main port in roses. Lots of hotels and the beach is directly in front. Very clean and a lift to all floors. A ramp to reception area as well as stairs.Car park is available at approximately 15€ a day. Rooms are large enough for 2 with separate bathroom. Somewhat dated. Towels changed daily. Food is the usual half board but often not very hot. Also better suited to adults palate rather than children’s. Small bar and cold water swimming pool which was open but too cold to swim. I was with a group and we all felt that overall the hotel presented as a 3 star rather than 4. There was coffee and tea only available at. Breakfast nothing available during the day. Rooms now have kettle and cups. Very new but coffee and tea on provided on arrival despite requests for more. Rooms have a large ceiling fan for warmer weather.We had a side balcony which gave a side view of beach. Most of the staff were very plesent and helpful.     Disappointing stay at Hotel Monterrey Roses Spain

    The hotel is situated in a good position with several rooms enjoying a sea view. It is advertised as four star but in reality it is nowhere near, in our opinion no more than two stars.We stayed at Hotel Monterrey as part of a Titan group holiday, Little Boats of Catalonia. We arrived very late due to a severe road accident which held us up for several hours. We were assured that the kitchen would remain open and available up until ten pm.We were told to put tags with our names on our cases so that they could be sent to our rooms while we went to dinner.As regards dinner, such was in the form of a buffet, however no effort had been taken to freshen or top up any of the dishes, some of which had dried out, some were only tepid, and the quality of the dishes on offer was bad. Some of the items were inedible.The staff were unfriendly and clearly irked by us being late, and were surly, and keen to grab our plates etc. as soon as possible. We appreciated that this was late but would have expected an eagerness to provide a welcome with decent food as would befit a quality hotel.We went to our room after dinner to find that only one of our two cases was there. We asked the reception staff politely to initiate a search and of course reported the issue to our tour rep, who provided good support. However the hotel staff were unmotivated and fobbed us off as to their efforts. They told us they searched everywhere including empty rooms, which was later proved to be untrue because after stronger intervention by our rep the missing case was eventually located a an empty room. In total, it took in excess of one and a half hours to locate our case and we are still dismayed as to how it could be put in an empty room!Housekeeping at the hotel is lacking commitment and empathy. Our room lacked certain bedding items which other guests told us they had, and the products for hand wash, shampoo and shower gel were not correct.It took several attempts to correct housekeeping faults which added to our anger and anxiousness resulting for the missing case issue has left us with a very negative view of this hotel. We would not recommend Hotel Monterrey Roses, Spain.     3 days relaxing on a long road trip .Great position with lovely large pool to relax overlooking the sea .Rooms are good ,bathrooms a little tired but adequate .     little boats of Catalonia Titan holiday

    Tiny and cramped room on the 6th floor, good side view of the sea though. Technically the hotel has 4stars but they are quite undeserved as the hotel is very basic. Very noisy at night from the bars opposite, pool view rooms must be quieter. Strange rather aggressive dining room staff, often not available to clear tables at dinner until quite late. On the plus side the people in the tour group were lovely and made the holiday. Buffet food at breakfast and dinner was good with a wide choice of food. I wouldn't return though.     Friendly staff, room and common areas spacious. Very pet friendly. Pool good. Good variety of food but I had (very) cold fish for dinner and we had extremely cold scrambled eggs for breakfast despite turning up at the beginning of service. Fried eggs and bacon lukewarm. Also very loud live music in the evening made it impossible to have a peaceful drink in the (only) bar and we couldn't even hear our TV in the room with the window shut.
