  Noisy location and smells in some rooms; so you'll be taking your chances.

  Since I would be visiting during Carnaval, I knew getting a reasonably priced room might be a challenge, and the Alcaravaneras had a good rate, in addition to being walking distance to Santa Catalina Park, where a lot of the Carnaval events were being held. Davinia, the receptionist, was proactive in contacting me to find out when I would be checking in. You are given a set of keys since there is no 24 hour reception, and you can come and go as you please. They have a kitchen on the 4th floor that guests can use with a refrigerator and microwave.The biggest issues with the Alcaravaneras was the smell and the noise. I had one of the rooms with a private bath which, in principle, wos good. However, there was a strong bad odor (probably sewer gas) from the bathroom. In addition, the location of the hotel rooms is on a side street that is right off the main highway in Las Palmas. The highway noise came right through the windows, whether they were closed or open. When I complained about these issues, the hostal provided me with a floor fan that helped with the smell a little, and provided white noise at night to cover some of the highway noise. Wifi was also spotty.The hostal also let me store my suitcase for a few hours after checkout and before my flight departure.

  Good hostel with nice price quality

  We stayed here for 2 nights in a room with shared bathroom. The room and bathroom are clean and the people of the reception are friendly. The room had no airco, so you probably need to sleep with the balcony door open, making it a bit noisy to sleep.Good location to have a quick visit of las Palmas. And great price/quality (we paid 22€ for 2 per night)

  Centrally located and affordable hostel for travellers on a budget, clean rooms and shared bathrooms, the cotton bedspreads are a nice touch as opposed to polyester ones. There's even a kitchen on the top floor, very handy for breakfast and a hot drink.The staff was so helpful and professional, I asked to stay an extra night, they were fully booked and so were other hostals in the area. Thankfully there was a cancellation and they informed me quickly via whatssap. There's no lift so if you come with heavy luggage like I did, be prepared to lift your suitcases to the third floor! But if the staff is in they'll offer to help. Would happily come here again, Thanks!

  We arrived a little late, but we got the door code in advance. Next morning check in as requested. Very happy stay. Clean room and shared bathroom. Nice en friendly staff. Easy to find. Very close to beach, as in 200 meters or so.

  OK, little bit noisy and too much of freshener used

  Normal hostel type of accomodation, room clean, very cheap.Big plus - wonderful receptionistMinus - noise from the street, terrible scent of air freshener, not even opened window helped to get rid of it (and opened window also did not help with noise from the street)...But for one night stand it was good.
