  I found this place to be ideally situated high up above Puerto Rico, across the road from a small shopping centre which had a supermarket, quite a few restaurants, and drinking establishments for entertainment of an evening. Meals and snacks were available at the pool bar, from 10am to 8pm, and we went to happy hour two for one drinks some afternoons 3-4pm which was good value. The accommodation is no frills, but fulfils a need for a comfortable twin bed, spacious wardrobe, facilities to make a cup of tea and do basic cooking on the hob if you aren’t going to eat out. There was a big fridge with freezer compartment, cutlery and plates for three people, a table and chairs in the kitchen/living room, and another table and chairs out on the patio for dining alfresco. When I return later in the year, I know to take the following things with me: washing up liquid, a sponge to wipe surfaces down, scissors, kitchen roll, soap, a hairdryer. (Can’t believe I forgot soap!) Bigger mugs for tea, as the cups provided are small.Taxi rank outside very handy for being taken to the town or Amadores beach below the hotel.There is a small plastic crate near the pool bar for people to leave suncream or shampoo in it, if there is too little left to bother taking home, and other residents are free to use them during their visit – I thought this was a great idea. There is also a place in reception for a book exchange; I left the two books I brought and managed to read one from the shelf before I left.Friendly ladies work hard at the pool bar and make everyone feel welcome, so I am looking forward to a return visit to this hotel as it is good value for money and ticks a lot of boxes for me.

  Great Pool Bar!

  Stayed here for a lads’ holiday (four of us, all in our late 50s). The rooms are perfectly fine — you really just need a bed and somewhere to make a morning coffee, and they do the job.The location is excellent, right opposite the Europa Centre, so everything you could need is just a short walk away.What really made the stay for us was the pool bar. The 2 ladies who run it, were absolutely brilliant — funny, welcoming, and really attentive. Prices were very reasonable, and the breakfasts were fantastic.

  Stayed with jet2 4th April , 2 adults and a teenager got a great deal £950 for the 3 of us with transfers, bags etc (booked 3 weeks before) the reason I mentioned the price is for what we paid we were happy. So the good bits ......Great bar/snacks great price can eat in or take away from 10am til 7 - happy hour 3-4 friendly staff Pool was chilly but swimming was fine was you were in,plenty of loungers, saw a man clean it a few times didn't seem unclean !Balcony was huge with 2 loungers (no 32) got the sun all afternoon and we liked the top floor - out the way (all balconies have loungers which is good)The room was very clean , didn't see any creatures atall (top floor maybe?) towels/bins were changed day 3, big smart TV on wall , bedroom beds comfy , plenty of wardrobe space and hangers Had a nice breeze if opened patio doors , wasn't too hot Shower was powerful Location was handy for Europa centre -lots of nice restaurants, singers , takeaways, shops etc - I personally didn't get offered drugs or see anyone dodgy there,! . Not so good points , the room is dated but functional, the bathroom was tiny , the sofa bed wasn't the best quite uncomfortable, it's noisy til late at night which isn't so bad in the bedroom but in the lounge loud! Taxi needed for front (£6 euros )unless you want to walk down about 20mins - knew this obviously before arriving and didn't bother us.So the round up is for the price we were happy, it was a good base , we enjoyed hanging out on the balcony in the evenings it had a friendly vibe.

  Do not waste you hard earned money!

  This is an honest review, I do not normally write reviews but want people to know what the apartments are like. I did read reviews before booking and wish I had taken notice of the bad ones, as they are a true reflection of our experience. We arrived in the afternoon, no receptionist available to check in, had to call a number. Tried for 10 minutes was engaged and when I eventually got through the person said they were closed try again tomorrow! He was joking but not a great start after a long journey! We had to surrender our passports and were told we would get them back the next day. Did not get them returned until the Tuesday, arrived on the Friday! Had to pay a 10 euro deposit for the TV remote. Anyway we were allocated an apartment on the ground floor, very dated but looked clean, bathroom very small, I have actually never seen a bathroom so small, badly cracked light switch in the bathroom which likely was not very safe. No microwave or hairdryer in the accommodation. Anyway first night 2 cockroaches on the kitchen worktop. Second night more cockroaches, even though we had spayed, and every night except one there was at least one cockroach! One night in the bathroom one actually crawled up my daughters leg! Mentioned to the staff and all they did was give us another tin of insecticides spay. The pool looked nice but there was a funny sewage like smell when using. Apartments cleaned and towels changed once on our 7 night stay. Kept a small one for the floor and it ended up black, floors obviously not cleaned effectively. Found a chocolate bar down the back of the sofa bed, thankfully still in the wrapper but obviously had not been cleaned or checked. We didn’t eat at the pool bar, but the staff were lovely and friendly. The apartments are located at the highest point in Puerto Rico so if you will need to be fit if you want to walk anywhere except the Europa Centre located just across the road, you will need to budget for taxis. Atmosphere was not unlike a retirement village, most people who stay are obviously long term visitors. We booked via Jet2 and for the price we paid (almost 1.5k) I would expect a much higher standard of cleanliness and for the accommodation to be at the very least free from a cockroach infestation. Will definitely not be back, and urge people to think carefully if considering booking, pay a bit more to get a decent apartment!

  stayed at these apartments 3 times, and always been greeted by friendly and polite staff ,from reception and maintenance guy ,cleaners ,and especially the bar staff Lisa and Hayley who do very nice and cheap breakfasts , the apartments are dated but cleaned to a high standard and towels changed every few days ,and also the apartments have everything you need for self catering look forward to returning next year
