    Poor quality but cheap

    rating20 Feb 2025

Very noisy! The walls are like paper. You can hear everything from the other rooms as well as all the shouting from the streets. Some renovation noices began every morning at 9 o'clock. Our "suite" had no separate bathroom in the room (although should have had), just a thin wall with no door. No AC. No heating. No cleaning. The humidity from the in-room-shower kept all the towels and clothes humid.Poor lighting.Cheap. So I guess that's the best you can get with little money...

Good place to stay - would recommend!

This is a great hostel. It actually felt like a hotel and was really nicely and uniquely decorated. The bed was huge - easily a Kingsize and very comfortable. The window panes were thin and so you could hear noise in the streets quite loudly so if you’re sensitive to this, pack earplugs. We had a room with a bathroom in it. I’m reality this was one large room with a toilet, shower and sink and a bamboo “screen” separating those and the bed. That was a little odd as it meant you obviously had no privacy really, but there is another communal loo that can be used. The price of the room for one night was €68 which we felt was a great price for the room. The hostel is really central and you can walk to the beach within a matter of minutes.

    Mattress on stilts

    rating27 Jan 2024

A bit of a surprise arriving at my "double room" to find it was a mattress on stilts with a homemade stairs. Clearly they couldn't fit a double bed in there without being able to open the door in the smallest room I've ever been in.It's a bit of a deathtrap and I don't know how a couple could manage. Book somewhere else.

    My recommendation for Las Palmas

    rating12 Feb 2021

After staying in various hostels and apartments in LP, I'm confident to say that Cactus in one of the best choices. The rooms are super clean, very cozy and the interior is beautiful. Moreover, the staff is super friendly and helpful. In my case (I stayed there two times) they remembered I needed a desk to work and let me choose my room of choice. They also helped me find a place for a corona test, for example. The communication with the staff is very easy via whatsapp. The rooftop terrace offers much space to hang out or work. What's also great is that washing is free! The only downside I can think of is that the walls are quite thin and it can get noisy at times. But in total, a recommendation :)

    recomend!!!!!

I landed at 2 am. Oscar the owner of the cactus came to take me (low cost from other places). A charming and courteous person. The room is great (no air conditioning) and the whole hostel is tastefully decorated. I stayed in the cactus for 2 nights. Oscar helped me and explained to me about different places worth visiting. recommended!!!
