3rd Visit and still as good

    rating05 Jan 2026

This was our third visit to the Solaz Apartments, and once again we had a great stay. If you want the flexibility of using hotel facilities (cordial mogan playa), being the restaurant, spa, and pool area, but, also want more space, privacy, and a private sun deck, then this accommodation is ideal compared to a standard hotel room.We booked a package with Jet2 and were allocated Apartment 301. In our experience, these third-floor apartments are the best for privacy, as some of the lower apartments can be overlooked by other guests. I am not sure whether Jet2 block-book these for UK guests, but on every visit we have always been allocated a third-floor apartment. The apartment we were allocated is across a residential road, and accessed via the hotel. We were helped with our luggage by hotel staff, which was much appreciated. This particular apartment is classed as a one-bedroom apartment with an outdoor whirlpool. There are two balconies, one off the living area with a table and chairs, and a main sun deck accessed via a spiral staircase, which has the hot tub and sunbeds and outdoor shower. We did need to request sunbed cushions as they were not initially provided, but this was dealt with very promptly. We chose the half-board option, as it was an additional £70 per person for the seven nights. Restaurant & DiningThe evening restaurant operates two sittings and is buffet style 17:45 – 19:1519:45 – 21:15On arrival, you pick your time and are allocated a table and given a blue card. After your first visit, you simply show the card and return to your assigned table. Staff will advise when they are closing to prepare for the next sitting, so my advice is to arrive on time, otherwise you can feel rushed. You keep the same table throughout your stay for evening meals, while breakfast seating is open, and you can sit anywhere. As said the restaurant is buffet-style, with cooking stations, plenty of salads, and carved meats. I have mentioned in previous reviews (and directly to the hotel), the gluten-free offering remains disappointing in the evenings. While there is a small gluten-free section at breakfast, nothing similar is available at dinner. Staff will make gluten-free pizza, pasta, or desserts on request, however, I do not understand why the same gluten-free items cannot simply be displayed during the evening meal as they are at breakfast.BreakfastBreakfast is served 7:30 – 10:30, and until 11:00 on Sundays. As mentioned, there is a very small gluten-free section, usually including bread and a cake or pastry.Apartment & ResortOur apartment was immaculate, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job throughout our stay, often leaving chocolates. We tipped them, as they clearly work very hard. The apartment is well equipped with a washing machine, microwave, cooker, kettle, and coffee machine, everything you need for self-catering.The resort itself is very relaxed and beautiful, with plenty of nice restaurants nearby if you choose to eat out. Across the promenade from the hotel there is a Dino supermarket, which is very convenient.During our stay, one of the pools was undergoing refurbishment, but the other pool was not crowded. The hotel does offer free tours of the botanical gardens and the archaeological walk and the Michelin star restaurant. We also took the Blue Bird ferry to Puerto Rico, visiting the shopping centre there. Tickets are purchased near the ferry and cost €13 return for adults and €6.50 return for children. The first ferry from Puerto de Mogán departs at 10:15 (during November to March), with later departures at 11:15, 12:15, and onwards. There is also a market every Friday, located right outside the hotel entrance, which is well worth a visit. The Jet2 resort transfers were quicker arriving than heading back home, as we stopped off at lots of resorts collecting people. We will definitely be back.

Once again; Solaz was just fantastic

    rating16 Nov 2025

Just returned from at 10 days stay - again at Solaz. This time we stayed in apt 101 (duplex with 2 bedrooms/2 baths) which is within the hotel grounds. I will not repeat everything I have mentioned in a previous review - i just sum up that this place and the hotel grounds really lowers my sholders. I need to mention Aroa Valencia again, though - who serves/cleans most of the Solaz apartments. She really gives us a extra feeling of being taken care of with the little extra effort and servicemindedness that she has and gives into her work. She is something special, though most workers within Solaz/Cordial Mogan Playa are very friendly and helpful. We had the "pleasure" to have the storm Claudia visiting while we where there, with a great amount of rain and wind. I was impressed to see all the hard work that was done both inside and outside - and I bet a lot of the people had worked long hours during the night when the storm was at it worst. I hope to get to visit again!

Recommended alternative to staying in main hotel

    rating10 Aug 2025

Have just returned from the Cordial Mogan Solaz and would highly recommend it as an alternative to staying in the Playa hotel itself. As parents with a young child this offered plenty of space as well as a respite from the large and busy hotel. We stayed in the newer block across the road in 303. When booking we had some trepidation about having to cross a road to access the hotel in terms of distance and traffic but aside from cars being parked along the road not a single vehicle passed us and it is a matter of yards so that is not an issue at all.Our apartment had a double bedroom, large bathroom with shower and a spacious living room/kitchen with sofa bed, the use of a dishwasher and particularly a washing machine was incredibly handy through the week. Both the living room and bedroom have patio doors leading to a patio with seating, drying rack and adjustable shade.By the front door of the apartment is a spiral staircase leading up to the roof terrace (this is the only thing that would not suit anyone with accessibility issues, there are elevators covering all apartments otherwise), the roof terrace was a great size and had three sunbeds, adjustable shade, a pool shower and our own jacuzzi with a view across the town and towards the sea, this was fantastic when wanting to escape the crowds. The only qualms I would have in recommending the Solaz vs staying in the hotel itself is if anyone has issues getting around as it can be a walk of 5 mins or so to go from the room to reception, but as it is a large hotel grounds this is likely the same for some rooms within the hotel also.Other than that we would highly recommend the Solaz as an accommodation option when staying at the Playa. Room was modern and kept spotless by friendly housekeeping staff(This review is specific to the Solaz accommodation, Cordial Mogan Playa review separate)

Great apartment, lots of room and spotlessly clean. Great holiday.

    rating26 May 2025

Just back from a superb week at the Cordial Mogan Solaz. We usually stay in the Cordial Playa hotel, but wanted the extra space an apartment gives while being able to use all the hotel facilities. We stayed in 1B, a two bed, two bathroom apartment. The apartment was a good size with a large veranda area and was kept spotlessly clean by the fabulous daily cleaner. The kitchen included bottled water, chocolate and tea and coffee, the latter topped up daily. The fridge had a complimentary bottle of fizz and bottles of orange juice, with a few bottles of red wine appearing over the course of the week. The apartment has access to an incredible solarium at the top of the building with amazing views, sunbeds, parasols, a shower and a hot tub. In addition, there are washing machines and dryers in the car park under the apartments for guest use.Although a little dated, the apartment was great, with comfy beds, great bathrooms and hot showers. There is air con in the main bedroom and a ceiling fan in the second bedroom.Being able to use all the facilities of the main hotel was great, but being able to enjoy the privacy of an apartment just above the hotel too made for a great holiday. We are looking forward to booking again.

    Tatty rundown apartment, extremely disappointing.

    rating23 Feb 2025

I'd previously mistakenly posted this review on the Mogan Playa, now correcting it as it refers to the Mogan Solaz. We'd previously stayed in a Solaz one bedroom apartment April 2024, but this time around, went with our daughter, her husband & young toddler to 2 bed apartment. When we arrived at the apartment (no. 1A), it became quickly obvious that the apartment was in desperate need of refurbishment, in fact we felt truly insulted regarding the lack of attention to detail, especially considering the premium price we were paying.By no means exhaustive list of deficiencies as follows, and we have photos to illustrate the issues:-1. Sunloungers on outside terrace were filthy, and we had oly two mis-matched & ancient outdoor wicker chairs. The dining table on terrace was rickety & cracked, with the top veneer peeling off. The terrace furniture resembled a jumble sale.2. The balustrade around the terrace was incomplete, with the gap allowing for a drop of around 12 feet, especially for an unsuspecting toddler. The hotel had covered the gap with a sheet of plywood, held in place by 2 cable ties.3. Internally, the main lightswitch was hanging off the wall.4. The air-con in the main living area wasn't working properly, and there was no air-con in the 2nd bedroom.5. Very little cutlery supplied in the kitchen area, not even a bread knife.6. Water pressure was really poor in shower.7. Nowhere to store clothes in the 2nd bedroom, we had to keep them in our suitcase in main living area.8. Fire extinguisher in apartment was 2 years beyond it’s re-inspection due date, a basic contravention of Health & Safety regulations…!!!9. Main bedroom mysteriously had a barstool in corner of room…..We reported all the above at the Hotel reception, and had to pursue them 3 further times to eventually obtain a response and some action.Special thanks to Valeria, the assistant manager, for her efforts to try to resolve some of the issues (albeit half-way through our holiday), and she even organised a complementary dinner for us, which was a lovely gesture.HOWEVER, why did we, as customers have to highlight all of the above issues for action to be taken??? unfortunately, shocking attention to detail by the hotel management.Given that we love the location & the hotel grounds, we've re-booked to go back to the Solaz in April, 2025, just hope it's a much improved experience this time around....!!!!
