  Hotel looks really pretty from photos but wasn't particularly clean and not private. Had to have curtains closed all of my stay so felt more like a prison cell. It is central and there are plenty of places to eat. Would be good if you are only here for a couple of days but no longer.   Room doesn't offer privary. Pretty small for the price we pay. The staff is ok. But one thing to be aware is that the place is just above the restaurants where people tend to stay upto late in the night and so can be noisy. The check out time is 11 AM, an hour earlier than what most other hotels provide. The location of the hotel is the best part, close to the beach and with plenty of food options. The hotel provides a breakfast option, but it is not within the hotel premises. It is on a lane just behind the hotel and is not the most convenient place plus with very limited food options, unlike a buffet breakfast provided by the bigger hotels.   Just back from a weeks stay at the wonderful Acuario Hotel. Entrance is on Calle General Vives and quite secluded too. I do think though, that the hotel would be better served by an entrance on Parque de Santa Catalina. It’s pedestrianized and near to many Restaurants and Bars.Hotel Acuario was recently refurbished (2016/17) and it looks great. Rooms are big and airy with large windows and for us there was also a huge King size bed which was so comfortable. There are tea and coffee making facilities as well as a small fridge and two good sized wine glasses.The hotel is very centrally situated. The sea front is about 10mins away and great for an early morning stroll or an after dinner walk to work off all the calories consumed.The staff are very friendly and professional and also very accommodating. Nothing was ever too much to ask and that is always reassuring.To José and the team thank you all very much.   The location is good but the room is just OK given we upgraded to suite with a Roof Terrace. Room and accommodation very clean. The space was acceptable but not a suite. The terrace was nice but no cushions as featured in pictures. There are very few UK reviews despite the hotel being featured in TUI, so hope this info answered some of the questions we had, The breakfast included was in the park below in a cafe . It was basic to say the least , although nice. A coffee, a glass of orange, a piece of fruit and croissant. There is some photos on trip advisor of breakfast but these are out of date and the cafe providing breakfast has now changed. Water temp in shower is changeable. No English speaking TV at all not even BBC world news. No English/ black tea in rooms so take some tea bags if you enjoy a cup. Wi fi good and air conditioning. The location is what makes the hotel, alongside clean and secure accommodation. Don’t expect the usual hotel it does not have a reception.The entrance is a back street but don’t be put off. Our room was quiet but on the 3rd floor. Las Palmas itself is nice for maybe 3 or 4 days. We stayed 7 and it was too long. A plus is there is a hop on hop off bus in the square about 50 m away that you can get to Veguetta.There is lots of restaurants in the square with nice quality food and good value drinks. If your turn right out of entrance and next left you will find a selection of nice tapa bars within 50 meters.beach a short distance too and a nice walk from one end to the other.   We had a great weekend at Hotel Acuario it was a brilliant way to start 2 weeks in Gran Canaria. Having visited the island numerous times before and come to Las Palmas for a day here and there it was good to spend the weekend and find out more about this great beachside city. Acuario is very stylish and also comfortable. Some might find the glass walled bathroom and loo a little lacking in privacy and others might find the glass doors lacking in warning! Very central on the main city square and minutes from the beach side strip.
