Great position but not the nicest place to stay.

    rating24 Nov 2024

Upsides - The rooms were kept clean. Amenities in room were fine. However - no mirror in room, no hooks for coats etc, few hangers in wardrobe, no bedside lamps. We only had one plastic mug in the room. The fridge was quite noisy and needed defrosting. First room was so hot and small we asked to move and were given a bigger room with more windows but it was very noisy from the general street noise. Ear plugs were essential. No kettle. There was a drinks machine which we didn’t attemptto use as it seemed to need some cash. We found, but were not shown, the upper floor with communal area and kitchen. No facilities, mugs, glasses etc, few chairs. The microwave stank. The terrace was a big empty patch of plastic grass, two tables and a few dead plants. Whole place seemed unloved, needs a bit of money spent to offer the basic welcoming touches. There was somone painting and repairing the downstairs area, we saw more of him than the reception staff. Position was great though in a lovely resort.

    Location is ideal

    rating18 Nov 2024

The location is just off the main square. It's also within a short walking distance of the beach, bus station, harbour, and many attractions. The room was spacious with a twin bed tv, desk, and ample closet space. There were a sufficient number of powerpoints. The private bathroom was clean and had a powerful shower. The balcony was a julienne balcony. The noise from one of the local bars was loud even with the windows shut. In the hotels defence, the windows shut out a lot of noise, but the compare must have had their Mike turned up very loud.

I really loved this "human" hotel

    rating12 Mar 2020

I was put off by some of the reviews, but we wanted to stay cheaply this time and it was only for two nights. We started off with a couple of glitches, I have to say. When I enquired about the hotel shuttle, I was told to use the bus! Not as advertised! Then when we got to reception they seemed to have no knowledge of our booking. Still, they found us a room and although it smelt a bit odd (a feature of Las Palmas, I'm afraid to say), it was an uncrowded room with a little balcony over a pedestrianised side street. There was ample space for our effects, a big desk with chair, a couple of sockets, a safe, and a powerful fan high up on the wall. The fridge wasn't tiny and had a freezer compartment. The beds were rather cheap affairs but we both slept well. The bathroom was a reasonable size, with good towels and some "products". The shower let the place down badly though. It was definitely missing a part as water came out horizontally! That needs to be seen to!We had a couple of plastic coffee mugs on a tray in the room. No kettle, although I was told one could be made available. However, it wasn't needed as there turned out to be an entire kitchen at our disposal on the roof! It was a lovely area, with a good if somewhat eclectic range of cooking and serving items, a couple of hobs, filter coffee machine, microwave, sink... No kettle but saucepans can boil water. There was also a vending machine for cold drinks and snacks up there (and a hot drinks one on the landing), a covered area with big dining table and a couple of other tables and chairs on the "grass". I was pleased to see how clean and undamaged everything was. Everyone I saw -- mainly young people -- was treating the place with respect, maybe helped by the ever-present cameras. On the accommodation floor, there was comfy seating and a table for guests' use, and a computer station too. Everything everywhere was spotless and cared for and security was high, with the room card needed at every step, including to work the lift.Note: We had a peek into the single rooms without window which are slammed in reviews. You get a skylight for daylight plus an opening window above the door to let air circulate from the corridor. There's ample room to move around, IMO, with a bed, wardrobe, shower and basin. I've seen vastly worse! Of course, you can choose to pay more and have a window. The kitchen means you can save on food, 'tho eating cheaply in the area is very simple (I recommend tapas bar Euro K-Narias La Parada just a block away). As we live on neighbouring Fuerteventura, we will be back! This is no longer a "cheap" option for us; it's our preferred one (vastly nicer than the AC tower across the square).

    3 bed room apartment

    rating08 Jul 2018

I have to say that the customer servixe was great! Our group arrived at midnight but the quy at the office just gave us the keys and sais we could come on the next day to do the check in.We had 3 bedroom apartment at secretario artiles. The apartment was very clean ja cozy. Our neighbour threw a party first two nights so it was a bit noisy. There was an elevator but not from the bottom floor, you had to climb one two sets of stairs before the elevator.Hostal Kasa takes 150e deposit and 40e cleaning fee.I think the location was great, few minutes to Santa Catalina park and 10min walk to the beach. All and all was a great experience.
