Location

This hotel is situated in Meloneras directly beside the sea and lies amidst 30,000 m² of wonderful gardens. It is to be found in the south of Gran Canaria, approximately 1 km from the sprawling dune beach of Maspalomas. Public transport departs from stops located 600 m away.

Facility

The resort has 9 suites, 49 apartments, 46 single rooms and 521 double rooms, which are located on 6 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Valuables can be stored securely and conveniently in the safe. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Rooms

Meals

The dining area includes 3 restaurants and a bar. All-inclusive can be booked. A continental breakfast buffet provides many delicious reasons to rise and shine. At lunch and dinner, guests serve themselves at the buffet. Diet meals and vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and snacks are available. The show cooking is a particularly special attraction. The resort offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    It is only 4 star but really has everything. The only difference to the 5 star Palace next door is the waiter service and probably a jacuzzi.It does all it says in the description, and runs like clockwork. The rooms are refurbed and large with every convenience. They are topped up and cleaned daily to a high standard including beers and coffee etc. the safe is free, super service all round.The dining options are great with the buffet offers superb, the lamb and veal was the best I have had. The a la carte are great with the steak bar top class, and the Asian excellent. Lunch time the Atlantic restaurant with prime sea views is an absolute delight. Beer on tap throughout the site is excellent, however the red wine on tap is poor, but in the a la carte venues the red wine offered from bottles is great.Entertainment and activities are well planned to suit all tastes, even the party night was ok for a short time (as an old guy )The only thing I missed was a jacuzzi, but the infinity area was great, I managed to get there most days, sunbeds are not a problem here, plenty of them. All in all a great week here, they even sent me a bottle for my birthday! thanks very much for that. IF all RIU hotels could match this quality and consistency I would never look anywhere else. Finally all staff happy and friendly, even at the 24 hour sports bar through the night. 100% recommend this hotel to all, and it is in a great location too.     Nice gardens and pools food a real dissapointment

    Nice gardens and pools rooms ok but bathrooms dated, entertainment very good drinks reasonable and branded but limited cocktails food really poor as temperature issues . Enough choice but every meal was lukewarm warm.clearly the hotplates on the buffet are just warm plates. I wouldn’t revisit due to this.     Fabulous hotel. Really impressed with the selection and quality of food in the buffet restaurants. Bookable restaurants all fabulous too. The grounds are well maintained and the whole place is spotless. Staff are friendly and helpful. The entertainment was great and varied. The violinist that played in the sunset bar was fantastic. Would definitely come back. Only niggles that need addressing are:1. Decent size bath towels. Far too small, or at least give the customer 2 and2. Small side tables beside the sunloungers. Overall a very good hotel.     A week in April was just fantastic. Great location if you like to walk to shops and beach. Beautiful gardens, clean throughout. Great selection of bookable restaurants. Lots of places to sit and chill. No issues with loungers and good selection of drinks. Entertainment varied and mostly good (Dukes band, violinist and white party were highlights) Staff helpful. My favourite member was Sami on reception. Nothing was too much trouble.I’m coeliac and being gluten free was NO problem. Everything was labelled or specially made (ask for the evening pastry - such a treat!)Only a couple of very minor suggestions - bedroom towels are tiny and the loo roll needs an upgrade. Why does the lovely sunset bar shut before sunset?

    Arbitrarily cancelled confirmed reservations because of the hotel’s typographical mistake

    The Hotel Rui Gran Canaria abruptly and without my authorization or consent cancelled four confirmed room reservations for December 2026. The ostensible reason for the cancelation was that when the hotel’s reservation service made the reservations they misspelled my given name — “Randell” instead of the correct “Randall”. It was entirely the hotel’s mistake, not mine. Nevertheless, the hotel said that (1) I would not be permitted to check in if the name on the reservation did not exactly match the name on my passport and (2) the only way to correct their mistake was to cancel the reservations and rebook them. I told them that I did not want to cancel without assurances that those charges would be fully refunded and the rebooking could be on the same terms. Nevertheless, the hotel arbitrarily cancelled my confirmed reservations. When I they contacted them, they told me that rebooking the same reservations would now cost twice as much as the original reservations, and the originally reserved rooms with two double beds were no longer available. Although Rui is a reputable company that I trusted to act reasonably when it discovered its own mistake, they have taken no responsibility and have left me with no hotel reservations in a busy holiday season. The hotel should have reinstated the reservations that it arbitrarily cancelled.
