Location

This hotel is situated in the south of Gran Canaria, close to El Faro lighthouse and could be described as a holiday oasis where the holiday may enjoyed surrounded by splendid countryside and total peace and quiet. The vast sand dune beach of Maspalomas and an array of shops may be found within 800 m of the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 303 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by 4 lifts. The reception desk is open round the clock. Valuables can be securely locked in the safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for no extra charge. Further services include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service and a hairdresser. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area.

Rooms

Air conditioning, central heating and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a refrigerator included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. The hotel has non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The outdoor pool complex includes a children's swimming area and is ideal for working out or just relaxing. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A sun terrace, sun loungers, and parasols are available. The hotel offers outdoor sports, including cycling/mountain biking, tennis, crazy golf and golf. With windsurfing and diving available, the hotel also caters to water sports enthusiasts. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, billiards and squash. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam and massage treatments. Subject to charge: a beauty salon. Additional leisure activities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club and live music.

Meals

The dining area includes a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. Half board can be booked. A generous breakfast buffet and a dinner from the buffet or as a set menu offer culinary delights every day. Special culinary options, such as vegetarian dishes, are also available. The chefs prepare delicious specialities during the show cooking.

    Hotel is excellent if a little stiff and lacking atmosphere Staff are brilliant at being normal people looking after the >70s guests who are mostly in bed by 10:30pmLeadership need to check their diversity guidelines though! Who selected the statues outside Rosas bar?

    This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The staff are so very kind and cannot do enough for you from front reception to the amazing waiter service. We will definitely visit again.     Very Noisy Staff Training outside our balcony!

    Lovely facilities, clean rooms & pools,good food & entertainment But...very noisy staff training 10-6 every day outside our balcony (room 9) up to 23 staff at a time,spoilt our week!!Reported to 2 different receptionist, who passed our complaint on to 2 different managers, NO ONE ever contacted us to offer a room change or preferably to move the staff training away from paying guests in a 5* resort...Shameful!!Contacted Director,Head Office when we got home,all we got was an apology & told this wouldn't happen again!     My wife and I have been staying in Riu Palace Meloneras 5 times now, and at this point it really just feels like our "home" in Gran Canaria.You have everything which you need in order to completely relax and rest: great weather, great service, great rooms, great food, spa and massage service, etc.As you may expect in a resort hotel, the pool area can feel a bit overcrowded, as everyone wants all the good tanning spots, but hey, that's the name of the game.It can also feel slightly overcrowded at dinner time, as everyone wants to eat at the same time, so some queues at the buffets, whether this is in the morning or in the evening, can be a bit long, but nothing crazy.All in all, we just love staying at Riu Palace Meloneras, and if we could afford it, we would go there every year for vacation: it is just so great 😊🙏 Online Reputation Management, Owner at Hotel Riu Palace Meloneras, responded to this review Dear Keng,It is truly rewarding to receive such a positive review.
