  Stayed for a week 31 Jan 2017. It was the only hotel available when booking in November. The resort was very quiet of English people. The planes were half empty. The hotel is half way up the hill. 10/15 minutes walk to the centre downhill . Taxis €2.86 back to the hotel.Good points , cleanliness was ok. Not too far from the centre. Kitchen basic but microwave, toaster, kettle etc provided. Hubby found the beds uncomfortable but I was ok. ( 2 singles) Bad points. Set back into the hillside so never got the sun at all so never got warm in the apartment. We were freezing at night , no heating or air con. Balcony never got the sun . Pillows were an inch thick and lumpy! Spiral staircase might be a problem for some people as u have to lug yr case up them! There was no help even for elderly people. Reception seemed to shut randomly, think he worked in another hotel or something so had to keep popping out to there. Shower was awful!!! I would have done a better job spitting on myself! Nothing came out of it! On the plus side what came out was Red hot!!! So was the kitchen sink hot tap!! Needed a warning sign!! You also might as well share a room with the neighbours! Next doors snoring kept me awake!! Overall if I REALLY had to stay there again the fact it was clean enough would persuade me. The lack of sun on the balcony/ building was the worst thing for me but that's not the hotels fault.

  We were sent here as our hotel had been overbooked,we only spent 2 nights here and that was more than enough. The microwave hadn't been cleaned from the previous traveller and there was food in the freezer,and also little insects on the worktops in the kitchen. Staff were friendly enough but for myself this is a no go place,not even a bar or restaurant or even a proper shop.

  After reading the reviews about this place me and my friend were a little bit worried... but when we got there it was the complete opposite. The staff were friendly and the most important thing is the rooms were cleaned every day. Yes it is old and dated but for me and my friend it was clean and the beds were comfy . The walls are quiet thin so you can hear next door... but overall for what we paid we wasn't expecting anything amazing. If your looking for somewhere to rest your head this is perfect.   If you are a light sleeper you really should not stay here. Not only you here averything in the hotel. You will wake up constantlythru the night as the hotel is situated at a car turning zone. Everyone friendly though. Top marks for the TV.....

  The Portosol Apartments are spacious with a great view of the beach. The room was clean but a little dated, the pool area was nice, the pool got the sun round about lunch time. Just a word of warning if you have a late flight the reception closes at 5.00pm and there is no where to put your cases. The apartments are approximately a 5 mins down hill walk to the centre.
