  Over promise and under delivers

  We booked directly with the hotel to join friends who were already staying there on a package holiday. The booking process itself was smooth, with clear package categories, and we chose the highest option available Premium All Inclusive in an adults-only suite. Based on the advertising online, especially the mention of “international premium brands”, we were genuinely looking forward to a high-end experience.Unfortunately, once we arrived, things quickly became disappointing.Firstly, charging guests a daily fee to use the in room safe is completely unacceptable. I’ve travelled extensively and stayed in hotels all over the world, and I have never once had to pay extra simply to securely lock my valuables in my own room. It made us feel uncomfortable leaving our belongings unattended and we actually chose not to have housekeeping service the room because of it.The “mini bar” advertised in the room was also misleading. The fridge was completely empty on arrival and we were informed drinks had to be pre ordered and paid for the day before. Calling that a mini bar is a stretch.The resort has three bars, but the setup makes very little sense. The adults only bar was small and often closed, although the gentleman working there was polite and friendly. There is another bar in the reception area where absolutely nothing is included, regardless of your package level, meaning everyone is pushed toward the already overcrowded main pool bar. The drinks there were poor quality and the staff lacked any sort of warmth or customer service skills.The biggest issue was the “Premium All Inclusive” package itself. The so called premium international brands advertised online were not actually included and almost every upgraded drink came with an additional surcharge. This felt incredibly misleading and honestly mis-sold. If the hotel wants to offer a truly premium package, then price it accordingly from the start rather than constantly asking guests to pay more once they arrive.It didn’t stop there either bar snacks, poolside food and ice creams all came at an additional cost. The entire resort seems designed to squeeze extra money out of guests at every opportunity.There are also lovely Balinese sun beds around the pool, but again these require an extra payment. Unsurprisingly, around 90% of them sat empty all week. In my opinion they should either be included for premium guests or removed entirely because it just creates an awkward atmosphere where guests are constantly being monitored by staff and lifeguards over what they can and cannot use.To give credit where it’s due, the pool area itself was always clean and tidy, and finding standard sunbeds was never an issue.The food, however, was extremely disappointing. It was repetitive, poorly executed and low quality throughout the stay. It was edible and seemingly safe, but that’s about the best compliment I can give it. Breakfast was probably the best of the three meal services, but despite paying for all inclusive we ended up eating out every evening at additional expense simply because the hotel food was so poor.Overall, this hotel massively over promises and under delivers. The constant upselling, misleading “premium” package and poor food quality completely ruined what should have been a relaxing holiday. We certainly would not return.

  Great for a relaxing getaway

  Just spent 5 nights here on a half board basis. This is a lovely hotel, spotlessly clean with very helpful courteous staff. We had a junior suite with its own terrace and Air conditioning. The food was very good, prices are about average here for buying drinks. Very quiet area surrounded by golf courses. There is a courtesy shuttle bus that takes you a shopping area and from here we walked to Playa del ingles. Puerto Rico area with the harbour and the Molan shopping mall were easily reached by taxi. I would say for a relaxing quiet break away this is a perfect stay, not for families with small children. Would most certainly come back.   Beautiful hotel ....just like paradise

  We have just come back from a excellent holiday in Gran canaria made all the more special by the wonderful hotel we stayed in we were all-inclusive plus and from the moment we walked through the door we felt we were in paradise. Beautiful palm trees and sun terrace with Sun beds and ballce bed ( €10 a day ) the pool area was clean and tidy and the grounds team work hard to keep it clean every morning and evening The room was beautiful and was clean and fresh bedding and towels everyday bins emptied etc The food was lovely they had a live piella event where the chef was making Pella at lunch time all the food was beautiful especially the fresh bread and pastries and salads The staff were kind and friendly and worked so hard to make a pleasant stay There was entertainment each night on a stage outside which finished at 10:30 all good fun It cost €7 to get in to maspolmas there isn't much round the hotel unless you want to play golf but the hotel provided a free shuttle in to playa de ingles and maspalomas throughout the day so you can visit the beach shops restaurant And there is a shop on site at the hotel which sells sweets ice-cream drinks gifts and sun lotion toiletries etc We cannot wait to come back to this hotel we have absolutely loved it thank you so much to all the staff chefs housekeeping etc for your hard work it really is appreciated..   Not stay with children!

  The hotel is not suitable for older children, from about 3 years old. The main pool, due to poor rules, only allows children to swim. No toys or throwing small balloons are allowed, even when the pool is empty, with no guests around to disturb.There is only a small round pool for children to play in, which is 10 cm deep and about 3 meters in diameter.This information is not provided anywhere before arrival. We didn't think there would be such restrictions at the main pool, when the hotel has a section specifically for adults and the main pool is not presented as relaxing.We had previously stayed at the Lopesan Costa Meloneras hotel and there was no problem there, even though it is the same brand.

  A slice of paradise

  This was our 7th visit to Kumara Serenoa and we cannot wait to come back again. We had a wonderful, relaxing 2 weeks in this beautiful resort. Everything is spotlessly clean from the restaurant, bar and pool areas to the room itself. Every single member of staff is welcoming, kind and always willing to help - this is the part that makes Kumara so special to us. The staff always make us feel comfortable and at home with a smile. The food was absolutely beautiful - full of flavour, lots of choice and a different theme each evening. Loved the addition of the stage for evening entertainment. I am already missing the Mojitos, counting the days until we come back again. Thank you!
