  My wife and I have just returned from a really relaxing self catering break at this smart, adults only hotel overlooking Puerto Rico marina. As anybody would know going to Puerto Rico you need to expect steps to your accommodation. There were 140 steps, so you need to be mobile. We had no issue with this, having known in advance.We had a really nice large room with a balcony overlooking the pool and marina, with kitchen and lounge / sofa bed, shower room and double bedroom. There were nice touches like bathroom robes and slippers.Free towels for the sun beds are available daily. Reserving sunbeds is forbidden but still went on, although plenty of beds were available until mid morning by the infinity style pool.There is an on site gym and sauna.There is an on site restaurant and bar serving breakfast and a wide variety of snacks and meals at lunchtime. A bookable shower room with towels is available on your last day.The hotel is about an hour away from the airport.A Hipo Dino super market and restaurants are 5 minutes away.The main Puerto Rico beach and restaurants are about 15 minutes walk away. The main Europa Centre is another 15 minutes away.To the right of the beach you can take the footpath walk or run to Amdores beach (1.5 miles from the hotel) and the Tauro beach (a further 0.5 miles away). A few naturists frequent this beach.All in all very enjoyable.   Our bathroom stunk. It was a boggy raw sewage drain smell, I asked them to sort the broken air freshener out in the bathroom to get rid of the smell, which they didn’t do. They poured bleach down the drain instead, which didn’t get rid of the smell. I kept opening the windows to try get rid of the smell but it just attracted more and more bugs. It made me feel so sick every time I went in the bathroom.Overall an ok room but a lot of wear and tear and decor is dated. The rooms could do with updating. For example wires hanging out of lights, my bedside light wasn’t working, grubby stained floor tiles, shower and kettle (limescale). Lots of bugs, flies, cockroaches, ants (probably from the sewer smell) The shower was poorly designed everytime you turn it on it floods the bathroom and makes it very very slippery. Aircon isn’t very cold it takes a while to kick in. Don’t feel like we got our moneys worth for what we paid, pictures of the rooms online are deceiving. For a 4* rated hotel I expected a lot more. Outdoor facilities such as pool and reception are nice and staff are nice. The poolside toilets don’t lock properly and are very grubby, also the sink pipe burst on me… it’s quite hard to get a sun bed because a lot of the guests like to put towels down and reserve them. Lots of parking available if your hiring a car.It’s a shame we were let down by our room because the rest of the place was quite nice.   Beautiful accommodation....and the ocean views are stunning!! Friendly helpful staff! Our apartment was clean, had everything we needed! The bbq was great and the food in general was lovely!   ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Facilities, Relaxing Stay, and Wonderful StaffFrom the moment we arrived, the experience was impressive. We were greeted with a glass of Champagne at reception while waiting for our room to be prepared (we arrived far too early!), and the desk staff were friendly, welcoming, and efficient.The cleaning staff were excellent throughout our stay. Everything was spotless, and nothing was ever too much trouble. If you don’t want your room cleaned daily, you can simply leave the card on the door — and you even get €4 off the bar menu as a bonus.🏊‍♀️ Facilities & AtmosphereThe pool area was a highlight: heated water, beautiful views over the bay, and plenty of sun loungers available at all times. Breakfast and lunch are served at the pool bar, which was very convenient. There are no evening meals on-site, which actually made the nights lovely and peaceful.🛒 Shops & Local AreaIf you prefer to self‑cater, there are shops nearby — though be prepared for the 125 steps down to them. I forgot my angina spray for the return climb, but with three breaks it was manageable, even for someone who now has to admit they fall into the “elderly” category at 67.Down by the shops you’ll find a supermarket, chemist, 24‑hour doctor, and several restaurants for evening meals. You can also walk around the bay where there are more restaurants, another SPAR, and a taxi rank. A taxi back to the hotel is only €4 and definitely saves the climb if you’re not feeling energetic.🚤 Recommended TripWe took a boat trip to Puerto de Mogán — only about half an hour — and it was well worth it. Lovely restaurants, nice shops, and a beautiful marina.🧺 Extra ConveniencesThere are washing machines available, plus an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe, so you can pack lighter if you want to. The gym and spa area were also very nice and well maintained.Overall, a fantastic stay with excellent facilities, friendly staff, and a peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing break with plenty of nearby options for food, shopping, and exploring.Would definatgyely reccomend and will be booking again!
