Location

The hotel is located in the tourist area of Patalavaca, a privileged enclave, with excellent views over the sea and port of Anfi del Mar. Guests can find supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and bars with evening entertainment within 50 metres of the hotel. The beach is 250 metres away and the bus stops for Las Palmas or Puerto Rico-Mogan are only about 100 metres away. Gran Canaria Airport is about 40 km away.

Facility

The apartment hotel has 24 single rooms and 16 double rooms, which are located on 8 storeys and are reachable by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions.     We stayed at Mariposa Del Sol for a week in August 2025. We really enjoyed our stay. We were advised in advance that the lift was being renovated and there would be a disruption so we could have cancelled if we'd wanted to. I am glad we didn't as the disruption was minimal and for most of the time the place was really quiet and chilled. We had a 2 bed apartment on the 4th floor. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped. Good view from the balcony. The pizza restaurant is great and the service was amazing. Great Spar down the hill. We had a hire car and parking was always available. So glad we chose here instead of some of the busier resorts. My 11 year old daughter loved it too. Thank you!

    Mariposa del Sol is a place with a soul! Wonderful and warm staff, short stroll to the sea, very clean, stunning views.

    This hidden place just a short walk from the sea has a soul. The family who has built and run this apartment hotel have created a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.The heart of the place is the wonderful and warm staff (special thanks to Heti and Marize) led by the young hotel director who is working hard to built further upon what his family has started. On top of that the sea and mountain views from the apartment balcony are stunning, the hotel is very clean, the apartment was comfortable and there is a very good small Italian restaurant / pizza place next to the hotel pool.And ofcourse there are always small inprovements to make in the rooms, but all of the above and not to forget Heti's homemade jams and the beautiful sunsets, make Mariposa del Sol a great place to enjoy your holiday.

    Perfect Hidden Gem!

    I’m reluctant to write a review because I want to keep this little gem of a place to myself! I simply cannot fault the place. The accommodation is spotless & the pool area very relaxing with ample space for all. We have had the most wonderful 2 week stay & full marks to all staff for being so welcoming. Also, the home-made jam and marmalade that the lovely Hetty sells is awesome!! Highly recommended the Mango!!Seriously, can’t rate the place highly enough! Thank you xx

    Just not good enough

    Disappointing. We asked for a stay with sun on the terrace. They confirmed. It turned out we only had sun from 4pm. They apologized but could not move us (if they have told us we would have cancelled)Restaurant was closed. They apologized again. So no breakfast. No poolbar. No restaurant. No minimarket and no sun. But worst of all. They did not tell us on beforehand. No compensation just a smile and a “I don’t care - apology”. Very disappointing. We will take it up with booking.com when returning so they can help other guests to be informed correctly

    MOLD BEHIND THE COUCH

    (My actual stay: 2018) The hotel was in a bad location not much to do in the area and almost No restaurants. One day we smelled Something weird in the room and I had kind of an allergic reaction, and there was MOLD behind there couch! Elevator Was broken for the entire trip. If they didn’t Renovate the place I would give it 1 star. Worst encounter at a Hotel.
