  Just come back from here. To be honest was very disappointed. The place is looking extremely tried. What was once a nice secure complex isn’t anymore. The bottom gate doesn't even have a lock in it. Patio doors are hanging on with good luck. I’m surprised the glass hasn’t fell out of them yet to be honest. There’s a 2 inch gap at the bottom of the door for all sorts of wildlife to come walking through. The security lights never worked out the front so you were left walking in the dark (wouldn’t be so bad if it was secure). The pool had a green line of scum around the water line. The pool bar was hardly ever open. Struggled to get someone in reception. The shower was more like a bath. Could probably have a 2 minute shower without having to knock it off before it overflowed. Plug sockets hanging off the walls exposing live wires at child height. To be honest I could go on for a while yet but hopefully you get the point.

  Worst Booking Experience — Cancelled 24 Hours Before Arrival

  We had reservation in Apartamentos Montecarlo. Our reservation was cancelled approximately 24 hours before check-in, with the host claiming there were electrical issues. Instead of the 3-bedroom apartment we had booked, we were offered a 1-bedroom apartment and were told it would be “suitable” for a family of four, and that sleeping on the sofa for 7 nights during our holiday should be acceptable. This was completely unreasonable. We even said we would agree to a 2-bedroom apartment, but shortly afterwards we received a message from Booking.com stating that our reservation had been cancelled.On the same week of our stay, Gran Canaria was hosting Winter Pride, and almost all accommodations in the south part of the island were fully booked. We received absolutely no assistance in finding a replacement, nor any form of compensation. Our original booking at Apartamentos Montecarlo cost €1,000 (booked at the end of July for November), and the cheapest available accommodation for the same dates cost €1,700 with booking one day ahead.No one offered us compensation, and aside from suggesting that we should simply sleep on a sofa during our vacation, the property did not communicate with us at all—despite several messages we sent. A very, very unpleasant experience.

  Its really ok to be fair

  Dont pay attention to all you read - we had a 1 bed apt on the front - yep its noisy up till around 01.30 but still got to sleep easily enough, apt had all we need - big lounge, well equipped kitchen (only used a kettle and toaster), shower was brilliant, pool bar is very good and super cheap.Downsides - could be cleaner on the floors, lots of miniscule bugs on some surfaces (we bought a can of spray from the spar for 3 euros - no more bugs) - tv didnt work but im not there to watch tv.Tips - buy the spray - dont leave food out overnight unless sealed up, wash all dishes, plates, glasses if they've had food or sweet drinks in them before bedtime.

  Montecarlo apartments AVOID!!

  We have been going to Puerto Rico for 20 years and this has by far been the worse experience. Firstly we had one key given to us and it’s quite an easy mistake to make to leave the key in the room. We rang reception as nobody was there to get into our room. A women answered and said ring me back in 10 mins. I did and she simply ignored my calls. So we had a night with nowhere to sleep with 2 young children. No call or knock from the hotel to check we were ok the next day. The room states on social media that they have sound proofing and air con. Rooms have neither. The noise is horrific on the front with wagons being loaded with kegs all hours, there was a building with constant grinding. We hired air con machines from an external company. We had young children and asked if we could move rooms toward the back because it feels quite unsafe on the front. To which they said they had no room. It’s a lottery if anyone is in reception. Rooms were cleaned, apparently. Beds were not changed all week, no fresh towels all week. I think all they did is mop the floor. The pool is another issue, from the moment we got there it’s murky, certainly not clear. Weekends are so packed with locals just coming to utilise the pool. They come to use the pool then drive off in the afternoon. Again the noise is shocking around the pool with locals with no regard for anyone else but themselves. We couldn’t use the pool at the weekend and decided to go into town. The only good thing about this hotel is the pool bar and the chap behind the bar. What a lovely bloke which couldn’t do enough, with fair prices. He’s wasted in this hotel and strongly suggests he finds somewhere suited to his standards.This hotel is suited mostly to hen and stag doos when you don’t give a stuff where you sleep, you have a pool and the town literally next to your balcony. Other than that, avoid! We cannot stress enough how bad this hotel is,

  These apartments are in a perfect location for the commercial centre. They are clean and spacious and provide every thing you need for self catering. Check in was quick and easy and due to my wife being on crutches we were given a lower level room which has been a god send. Only reason I wouldn’t give it 5 stars is there’s a lot of noise early in the morning from the main road. Very happy with what we got for the price we paid. We will be back next year! :)
