  Lovely hotel. Wonderful location. Great food.- BUT

  This hotel is in a great rural location overlooking a huge lake. It has an excellent restaurant that has both a la carte and menu del dia menus. Rooms are very comfortable. BUT there is obe rather large problem- in the summer tey open the hktel as a summer language school and it is overun with spanish and english teenage children who pay considerably less for their rooms than u do !!! They also generate alot of noise and take over the residents lounge and swimming pool !! I do not pay €100 per night for this environment! However a return visit in October was so completely different and we had a quiet and relaxing stay. So- be careful when you go as you can have very different experiences.   Reception staff were lovely.

  We were upgraded to a superior suite at no extra cost so that was a good start. On arrival, we were surprised at the exterior of the hotel because it was very urban looking. However, the room was spacious with a fabulous view of the lake. We enjoyed the spa and the reception staff were courteous and helpful. Our only complaint was the restaurant. There were only three choices on the menu, pork, turkey or trout. The only water available was small bottles at €1.80 each. The main course was virtually inedible. The pork was very fatty and served with a few tinned potatoes and a small mushroom. The turkey had a strange red colour. The trout was OK but were served with the same tinned potatoes.   The setting was beautiful, the food very good. The only thing that was not quite right was the room, it was not what was expected for a spar room. Very dated it décor, our room was decorated with child like painting on walls and a drawing done by a child. The room looked tired and needed updating for the spar look. The smallest TV ever, if you are going to put TV in rooms at least put a reasonable flat screen. The room could have done with a touch off luxury that you would see in spar hotels. This could have been done easily with coving on the walls , cushions, vanity unit, safe, small fridge so you could sit in room enjoy views with something from the frigde/mini bar. The court yard looked tired and with the flooring needing repairing, could have done with more plants and maybe koi carp in the water pond would give it a feel off luxury. The spar looked very urban not in keeping with the surroundings if it had plants or paintings off plants on the outside walls this would have made a difference to how it looked. As for the staff very helpful and polite, if all these things were done to the buildings it would mean the buildings would match the staff in the high end feel. I would probably not go back until these things were done because off the costs off the rooms you would expect a better dressed out room than I got., As there are other spar hotels that actually reach this standard level, off what you expect from price and spar hotel.   Nice room and pool

  Stayed here for 3 days..The room was comfortable and nice to have a roof terrace with a view of the lake. The Hotel pool was lovely and refreshing and so peaceful. The reception staff were so nice and nothing was to much trouble .. but the hotel restaurant and waiter was a disappointment very average food you have a choice of the menu of the day which is very poor or you can choose from the more expensive menu and our steak was bitter and burnt! The breakfast was also very poor and one morning we arrived at 10 am and breakfast was open to 10 30 and were met by a very unhappy waitress who made us feel very unwelcome and to late! The same poor service in the evenings .. biggest disappointment for us though was that in between the restaurant opening times there was nowhere to buy a drink or coffee at the hotel? so for us to be relaxing by the pool or coming back from a trip you had to wait for the restaurant to open? The reception did offer to make us a coffee but that’s not the point all guests should have the option to have a drink during the day for water or coffee? No fridge in room so we couldn’t even buy water and keep it cold! Very poor service in that aspect.. If you like piece and quiet though it’s for you but we will not return..   The best hotel we've ever stayed in

  What a beautiful place this is. A hotel sat in some of the most stunning surroundings you will see anywhere in the world. From the moment we arrived, it took our breath away. We relaxed, ate wonderful food, took full advantage of the spa facilities, enjoyed an excellent massage and just felt like Royalty.Thank you so much to all the Staff at the Balneario de Zujar hotel. Nothing was too much and thank you for accommodating our inability to speak much Spanish. Jose in particular was a huge credit to your staff.I cannot recommend this place enough.
