    Nice location but horrible parking

    Good location in the old town. However, the parking garage was a five minute walk away which was annoying and a very tight fit. Do not drive into Granada, as the streets are narrow and confusing to navigate! The room was fine, albeit a bit dark for our tastes. On the other hand, the shower was amazing! Great water pressure for Spain especially. The breakfast was a bit lackluster, but you get what you pay for.

    This hotel is in a great central location and ideal if you want to dump the car (large underground carpark is just a couple of minutes' walk away). The room was spotless and had everything we needed... except for extra pillows. That's my fault though - I should have checked while reception was still open - they were so friendly and helpful that I know they would have rustled up a couple more for me. The terrace outside the dining room is large and comfortable with great views across the city. We paid just €59 per night and thought it was terrific value.

    Gracious old charm in Granada

    The Carlos 5 is in a great location for eateries, Alhambra and cathedral. Not a key lock or big corporate chain hotel. Family owned with character and charm. Lovely helpful reception who speak fluent English. Many nicely furnished spaces to relax in including balcony and cafe area. Spotlessly clean and rooms comfortable where everything works!! They kindly minded our bags on check out and the rate was so reasonable. A delight to be there.

    Looking nice but major problems

    It looks nice with very nice staff, and is in a beautiful historic location. It is about 17 minutes to the Alhambra but part of it is uphill. You can Uber though with good price. There is a small palace next to the property from Nasrid era. However, in our room, the wifi was terribly weak and intermittent. Also, the A/C was very weak, kinda like lacking refrigerant. We asked the staff and they said the machine is new. However, it could not keep the small room relatively cold.

    Only one star for this nice hotel which deserves many more. Excellent quality/Price ratio. The hotel is located on the4th floor of a classical building ideally located right in the city center. The reception looks a bit stark at first sight but the people in charge are really friendly and welcoming. They provide a lot of useful information in order to make sure your stay is comfortable. Rooms are clean and well kept (athough those next to the restaurant shoud be beter avoided because acoustic insuation is poor and these rooms are noisy at breakfast time) Breakfast is up to standards. No eggs and bacon but a wide variety of bread, cereals,ham, salami, cheese, toasts, fruits, jam, honey, country pate...choice of teas and coffees, fruit juice . and at a very competitive price. Hotel offers a small car park located nearby and the Manager helped us to park our car and retrieved it for us when we left the hotel...Some rooms have a balcony and nice views on The city and the Sierra Nevada in the backgroud.The Hotel has no restaurant of its own for dinner but there are plenty of nice restaurants next to the hotel. We recommend the hotel and will stay there again next time we go.
