    Not what expected but made Lemonade out of lemons

    As I have just come back from this excursion I wanted to write my review whilst it was fresh in my mind.This is NOT a 4 Star hotel, 3* at best, definitely in a small town of it's own with nothing much to do as siesta's are still a thing. So by the time you wake up have something to eat, everywhere is closed by 1pm to reopen again at 7pm. The hotel is old looking with no minibar or jacuzzi as described, but a mini refrigerator and a jacuzzi that hasn't worked in nearly a year? The town consists of bars, pharmacies, convenient stores, and one or two clothes shops, which if you miss in the morning you can catch in the evening.I wanted to give it a one star, but the staff was amazing to me and the family, maybe because we was polite and nice from the beginning. I was told if we wanted a massage they did have someone but it wasn't a spa environment like we was hoping for, the breakfast was basic, boiled eggs scrambled eggs bacon, and then fillers with cereal and hot beverages.. There is only half-board, or you can order from the menu.Thank god for the convenient store across the road that had everything we needed, and it didn't close in the afternoon's. We didn't know that Malaga airport was nearly 2 hours away but we didn't get the option to travel into Granada airport which was 15 minute away. The locals said the beach was half an hour away, and we noticed the buses ran every hour. Would I go again, only for piece and tranquillity but for fun and proper 5* experience nope properly not. I think the description for the hotel needs to be amended as its false advertisement and very off putting once you realise you have no choice but to stay.

    Lovely old hotel. Stylish interior. Looks fab from the Road. My room was a good size and well furnished. Friendly and efficient staff. Spotlessly clean. They have a gastro bar next to the main hotel building. Their food is fab ! Eat inside or on a terrace to the front. The only disappointing thing was that the roof terrace was closed- seasonal opening. Whilst it was 21 degrees in March and I would have appreciated some outdoor space.

    One of the most unpolite, unreliable and rude receptionists, I have ever encountered in all my travels, in an otherwise decent hotel. Although I repeatedly asked for help communicating in Spanish for medical reasons, he completely ignored me in three occasions…

    Located just outside the walls of Santa Fe, this is a beautiful building from the front aspect...only a short walk into town centre. However staff were not particularly helpful. Rooms are a good size and well furnished. Breakfast was good. Average experience overall.

    1. Only one staff member designated for check in, check out, parking and all other matters. Over 15 minutes wait just for him to tell us where to park. 2. Parking space provided is extremely narrow and can easily damage car, maneuvering and elevator is time consuming, not accessible without staff help (narrower than any other hotel parking place we stayed at in Spain).3. Extremely rude staff member that speaks in Spanish to other guest about us (told us he was speaking to them now, but they told us later he was speaking about us), refers only to the male member of the party, threatens to call police when asked for contact information for complaint, and when asked to speak to the manager (As he suggested) handed over the phone to a non-English speaking manager and wouldn’t translate.4. Cancellation took long, about 15-20 minutes, and seemed to have been prolonged in spite.
