Location

This hotel is situated in the most central and unusual place in the city, the Plaza Nueva. The hotel lies at the bottom of the Alhambra mosque and the Arab quarter Albaycin, which has been named a UNESCO world heritage site. Granda airport is about 16 km away and Malaga airport is 135 km from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 44 rooms, including 6 single rooms and 34 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     What a gem of a hotel. Very friendly staff...small but perfectly adequate room with 2 balconies and a view of the Alhambra. Brilliant location .     This hotel is in a perfect location for visiting the Alhambra and other attractions. The room was of adequate size and very clean. The staff on Reception were very welcoming.     I guess when you check in and they say the room is small is the giveaway… what they should have said it’s small and noisy. This was the “single comfort” room booked directly with the hotel Paid 90 plus euros a night.Yes very small it is, but I just came to sleep and shower. Noisy the earplugs on the bedside another giveaway. Unfortunately room 005 is right behind the office/ reception so you can hear everyone talking. On the plus side location location was my choice, walk out the door and you are amongst the sights and bars and restaurants. Bed was great. Breakfast adequate selection but coming in at opening time meant cold scrambled eggs. I guess when one books hotels “12” on this trip, you read the reviews and roll the dice. For the most part it works out. Location, budget, ambience etc, close to transport or sights. It’s your call at the end of the day.

    Bedroom clean with a room safe, A/C, Tea & coffee and modern bathroom with a very strong shower. Big difference between the rooms overlooking the plaza or the back. Always opt for the front facing rooms. Avoid rooms 306-8 no views and noisy when occupied. Breakfast nothing fancy but perfectly adequate. Great staff, friendly and very helpful.     One of the best location to visit alhambra and albaicin

    We stayed at Hotel Macià Plaza for two nights during our visit to Granada, mainly to explore the Alhambra, and overall we had a pleasant experience.Pros: The hotel’s biggest advantage is its excellent location right on Plaza Nueva. It sits within a restricted zone where only public transport and taxis are allowed, which makes the area charming, even though it’s very central. The location is perfect for sightseeing—restaurants, cafés, and shops are all nearby, and there are several flamenco dance performances within walking distance. The staff were very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. The room included a locker, which was a nice and useful feature.Cons: The rooms are quite small, especially Room 106, which felt particularly cramped. While the toilet was clean and functional, it only provided very basic amenities, which is fine but nothing special.Overall: Despite the small room size, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The unbeatable location, helpful staff, and easy access to major attractions make Hotel Macià Plaza a good choice for visitors to Granada. Mainly because of its location, we would recommend this hotel, especially for short stays focused on sightseeing.
