  Comportamiento extremadamente desagradable por parte del gerente del hostal.

  El 27 de diciembre de 2025, busqué alojamiento en Booking.com para dos noches. Conseguí reservar una noche directamente en un hostal, pero como estaba completo para la noche del 27 al 28 de diciembre, decidí ir directamente a OH! MY HOSTEL.Sobre las 15:00, una cama en un dormitorio estaba a 17 € en Booking.com. Pero enseguida subió a 23 €. Al llegar al hostal, me di cuenta de que no había recepción, así que reservé directamente en la web.¡Fue complicado porque no podía acceder a las páginas en inglés!Finalmente, conseguí reservar, y el precio fue de 18,75 €. No me gustó tener que reservar una cama de esta manera, porque lo mínimo que se puede hacer al gestionar un hostal es ofrecer una bienvenida física, aunque solo sea por unas horas al anochecer. ¡Que solo te den el dinero sin ofrecer un servicio adecuado a cambio es inaceptable! Recibir un correo electrónico con instrucciones y códigos para las puertas del hostal y la residencia universitaria resulta bastante desagradable y carente de contacto personal. ¡Llevo 30 años trabajando en el sector turístico y hotelero, así que conozco bien el tema! Di un paseo por Granada durante dos horas y, al volver al hostal, no pude entrar porque, incluso introduciendo el código correcto, no pude... Alguien vino a abrirme la puerta y decidí llamar a la encargada del hostal para explicarle el problema. Me dijo que no me oía, así que le sugerí que viniera a verme al hostal, ya que un cartel que había puesto indicaba que vivía cerca. ¡Desde luego, no quería quedarme fuera a medianoche por un problema con el código de entrada! ¡Su única respuesta fue que tenía que irme del hostal inmediatamente! Me quedé atónito y le exigí una explicación, incapaz de comprender su comportamiento completamente desproporcionado. Entonces amenazó con llamar a la policía, y le dije que no me importaba. Le pedí un reembolso y tardó mucho en enviarme el comprobante de que había ingresado 18,75 € en mi cuenta. Luego vino al hostal y volví a intentar obtener una explicación, sin éxito. Me fui rápidamente sin armar un escándalo, a pesar del enfado que sentía... Era tarde, y como el alojamiento más barato en Booking.com costaba 62 €, pasé la noche en mi coche, que había dejado a 25 minutos a pie del centro.Al ver que esta persona tenía muchas reseñas muy negativas en TripAdvisor, me alivió descubrir que no era la única que había experimentado su pésimo comportamiento.De 72 reseñas (incluida la mía), el hostal recibió 46 valoraciones de "Excelente" y "Buena", y 26 de "Regular", "Mala" y "Horrible"...Si no eres capaz de gestionar un hostal con seriedad y profesionalidad, deberías evitar ser extremadamente desagradable con los viajeros que han reservado allí.¡Bajo ningún concepto recomiendo este hostal, y sólo puedo instar a otros viajeros a no alojarse en este establecimiento dirigido por un gerente histérico y muy desagradable!On December 27, 2025, I searched for accommodation on Booking.com for two nights. I managed to book one night directly at a hostel, but since it was fully booked for the night of December 27-28, I decided to go directly to OH! MY HOSTEL.Around 3 PM, a dorm bed was €17 on Booking.com. But it quickly went up to €23. Once I arrived at the hostel, I realized there was no reception, so I made my reservation directly on the hostel's website.It was complicated because I couldn't access the pages in English!Finally, I managed to book, and the cost was €18.75. I didn't appreciate having to book a bed this way, because the least you can do when running a hostel is to offer a physical welcome, even if it's just for a few hours in the early evening! Taking only the money without offering adequate service in return is hardly acceptable! Receiving an email containing instructions and codes for the hostel and dorm doors seems rather unpleasant and devoid of any personal contact. As it happens, I've worked in the tourism and hospitality industry for 30 years, so I know the subject well! I went for a walk in Granada for a good two hours, and when I returned to the hostel, I couldn't get in because even after entering the correct code, I couldn't get in... Someone came to open the door for me, and I decided to call the hostel manager to explain the problem. She told me she couldn't hear me, so I suggested she come meet me at the hostel, since a sign she had posted said she lived nearby. I certainly didn't want to be locked out at midnight because of a problem with the entry code! Her only response was that I had to leave the hostel immediately! I was shocked and demanded an explanation, unable to understand her completely disproportionate behavior. She then threatened to call the police, and I told her that wasn't a problem for me. I asked her for a refund, and it took her a long time to send me proof that she had credited my account with €18.75. She then came to the hostel, and I tried again to get an explanation, without success. I left quickly without making a scene, despite the anger I felt... It was late, and since the cheapest accommodation on Booking.com was €62, I spent the night in my car, which I had left a 25-minute walk from the city center.Seeing that this person had many very negative reviews on TripAdvisor, I was relieved to find that I wasn't the only one who had experienced this person's appalling behavior!Out of 72 reviews (including mine), the hostel received 46 "Excellent" and "Good" ratings, and 26 "Average," "Poor," and "Horrible" ratings...When you're not capable of managing a hostel in a serious and professional manner, you should refrain from being extremely unpleasant to the travelers who have booked there.Under no circumstances do I recommend this hostel, and I can only urge other travelers not to stay in this establishment run by a hysterical and very unpleasant manager!!! Mayte Olalla Olmo, Dueño at Oh! My Hostel, responded to this review Por mucho que escribas largo y tendido, sencillamente mientes. Eran más de las 22,30 horas de la noche. Tuve que echarte porque te pusiste a gritar por teléfono como un loco exigiendo que fuese. Y cómo te pondrías que el resto de personas que había en el hostel me digerían que si te quedabas, ellos se iban porque obviamente no era lógica tu reacción y les diste miedo. A veces es sano preguntarse ¿seré yo? 🧐

  We only stayed for 1 Night but the Rooms were nice (especially for the Price) and the Beds really comfortable. The location was perfect and the staff helpful and friendly. So all in all a perfect experience!

  (+) location is very great. not only it close to Cathedral, it is also easy to find supermarket, locker room, and laundry services so it's very convenience. good value for money.(-) i was staying here during heatwave, and my room has no AC. but they do have fan which probably enough during normal day, but certainly not enough when it's 40C outside. if you need to do laundry, the receptionist will do that for you (so you give them your clothes) so it's a bit uncomfortable. better go to nearest laundromat, less than 5 mins walk from hostel.

  Pleasant place for small price

  I stayed here for 6 nights (in 6 beds dorm) in Jan 2019 and I liked it:- the price is very good- location is convenient - right near to city center with lots of shops, bars/tapas, not far from Alhambra and historical and hilly Albaicin, bus stops are also 3 mins walk.- staff is very friendly and helpful with advices, speak English (stuff is not always there at reception, but for me it wasn’t a problem)- room was neat, clean and quite bright (light)- locks for baggage storage are free- personal lamp for each bed- we had bath and toilet in our dorm room, it was neat and clean - hot water was always available - the bed is comfortable (thought upper one is bit challenging to climb..)- kitchen is good, clean, well equipped (I didn’t cook, dunno about pans pots etc, but there are lot of plates cups forks), fridge is there- tea/coffee is always available for free- terrace with chairs (there is no view but I liked to have fresh air and sun)The only problem is it was bit cold, but I believe cause sometimes roommates opened the window while heater was on (it is on for specific time)Actually I was bit sad to leave the hostel, cause felt very comfortable and homely there... thank you!

  Lose weight overnight

  In the summer it was so hot in the rooms and the only thing they could provide was fans no air con or anything. So i actually lost weight overnight i would say. There is a small terrace on the roof, but not really a big view up there. There is nobody at the reception. Bread at the breakfast is horrible, sweet and soggy. Wall paint comes down at the kitchen. Mayte O, Propietario at Oh! My Hostel, responded to this review There is a ventilator per person in addition to other large ones. The terrace is very nice although it has no views and it has 40 meters so it is not exactly small ...There are two types of bread at breakfast (plus 5 types of cereals, croissants, muffins, cookies ...). In fact, most people congratulate us on breakfast. And very good prices in the city center O_O
