  Castle on a hill.

  Everything a Parador should be - castle on a hill! Park in their courtyard if you can - paid parking outside and it's busy. Lovely inside, rooms with balcony were big and well appointed if a bit dated. Big restaurant with excellent food and good bar meals as well. Lovely sitting outside in evening but service slow - got impression they needed extra staff. Really good breakfast buffet and small cooked egg menu.   Siguenza disappointment

  Very, very disappointing. A guest helped us with our luggage - no staff available. The car park was full - we were told we could pay 5 euros and park outside.No water in the room - only in the mini bar.In the restaurant the baby goat at 33 euros was only bone - I returned it.My husband ask for his meal to be served with mine - it was kept warm somewhere for 20 minutes and very disappointing.We did not bother with dessert. This experience cost just short of 80 euros.   Terrible service.

  Terrible Experience with very bad service.My wife and I stayed at Parador de Siguenza as the last Parador for a trip we have just completed in Spain and it was the only Parador where we had such a bad experience. We stayed for 3 nights and planned to dine at the Parador de Siguenza for each of the 3 nights but after the first night that didn’t happen. Our first night was ruined by an elderly lady waitress who quite frankly was rude and raised her voice to repeatedly tell me that I couldn’t pay for our meal at the table but had no choice but to put the bill on the room; I don’t mind being told to do this but the manner in which we were told was loud and rude and she raised her voice to the extent that other diners were looking over at our table therefore making my wife and I uncomfortable and embarrassed.During our meal we finished our main course and looked at the desert menu ; my wife chose a desert and I asked if I could have an Irish Coffee to which I was bruskly told “ not possible” . However; Irish Coffee is served in the bar which is adjacent the dining room and the dining staff have to get the drinks from the bar but couldn’t get the Irish Coffee… very strange and disappointing.When my wife and I finished our meal we went into the bar where my wife had a glass of wine and I ordered an Irish Coffee ; however, the Irish Coffee was more of an ice cream and not like other guests we were talking to had received and was delivered to the table rather reluctantly .On checking in we were given a room overlooking the car park and a building site with large tower crane despite the front of house staff when I asked is it a nice room at high floor level ( as we had requested ) she told us it has a lovely view of the city and the countryside….Luckily our travel consultant Dean Wilson telephoned the front desk when we contacted him and we were given a room with a balcony following Deans telephone call. We avoided the dinner evenings after the first night as we felt so let down with restaurant staff being rude.This was a shame as this Parador was our last one after Parador de Jaen; Parador de Toledo and Parador de Cuenca who all previously gave us fantastic friendly service and made us feel welcome.Parador de Siguenza was the complete opposite and we did not experience any service that made us feel welcome. The Parador itself is magnificent and lots of places such as museums and cathedral within walking distance and also walking trails on your doorstep for those who like a walk in the local countryside. There is a large car park on site with a five euro cost so you could easily park up for the day and explore the area and look at the Parador .We have travelled many different locations worldwide but never received such service from staff that we received at Parador de Siguenza… Parador De Sigüenza, Other at Parador de Siguenza, responded to this review Dear Voyage54869903785Thank you for sharing your impressions following your recent stay with us.   Spectacular parador!

  From a distance you can see this majestic Parador at the top of the village. It’s very impressive. As you walk in, you feel transported in another era. The rooms are spacious. The staff is very helpful. The restaurant is excellent. If you like pasta! I highly recommend the pasta dish. Had the weather been warmer, I would have liked to enjoy the courtyards.   You tend to know what you are getting in Parador, and that's often why I stay in them. They are always clean and functional, the staff are always friendly and they are often in terrific buildings and interesting places. The Parador de Sigüenza is no exception; clean, comfortable, well-staffed and welcoming. The building is also amazing, as is the small town. Definitely one to which I will return!
