    The hotel is wonderful in terms of location, decor, rooms and service. But the reason I only give it a mediocre rating is because they don’t provide free bottled water. When you’re being asked to pay over €600 a night, why on earth would you be so cheap as to charge you extra for bottled water? It’s not about the amount that you’re being asked to pay, which is an insignificant amount; rather, it’s just the pettiness and poor taste that it leaves with guests. It’s simply ridiculous.

    I usually don’t take the time to review hotels but this one exceeded expectations. It was an outstanding experience-primarily due to the staff. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and committed to providing an excellent experience. The concierges provided excellent dinner and shopping suggestions. Leire was exceptional! The hotel was recently renovated and has a beautiful Bar/lounge area overlooking the boardwalk and the water. Taxis were very easy to get.Our tour guides spoke highly of the hotel and its owners (unsolicited). The organization is well respected in the community. We stayed one week and would definitely come back.

    We visited Donostia-San Sebastian for three nights in March 2025. Everything about the Hotel de Londres y Inglaterra was outstanding. We made sure to get a room with a view of the bay, and spent a lot of time enjoying that view. From watching the Saturday morning youth soccer games on the beach to enjoying the lights of the Old Town on the water at night, there was always something interesting to see.Breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of offerings- fruit, cheese, meats, cereals, yogurt, eggs, pastries, etc., and the setting was very relaxing and convivial. Staff everywhere in the hotel was most helpful and friendly. The shower was spacious with excellent hot water and water pressure. Beds were super comfortable. The hotel is an easy and appealing 5 minute walk from the Old Town and the lively tapas bars. Even on a rainy day, which our last day was, there is so much to do in San Sebastian. If we ever make it back to Donostia, we will definitely stay here again!

    We are part way through our stay. Check in was good and the reception staff were very welcoming. Our room is at the side of the hotel. It’s a good size with a beautiful bathroom. Our main complaint is that the hotel is open to the general public with no limits. Over the busy weekend it spoilt our stay. It was nigh on impossible to get a seat on the outside terrace or a table in the hotel bar. Service in these area’s was poor, simply because of the huge number of people visiting from outside This needs to be changed - it’s not fair to hotel paying guests
