  Hidden gem

  This hotel located in a village just outside San Sebastian is a gem. The prices are really good, they do a very good morning breakfast for €6 and if you’re a fitness freak, it’s a full-size gym. They also have a sauna and a sports court.Rooms are really comfortable, there’s air-conditioning, big TVs in the room everything you need for a good night sleep. The local bus down into San Sebastian arrives every 15 minutes and only costs €2. Don’t be pulled off by the photographs of the outside. This used to be an industrial factory, and they have made an amazing job of the inside such that you wouldn’t know that you were in a disused warehouse.

  It’s a truly unusual place - amazing service and facilities - gym and great breakfast - thank you Irene.Great toiletries and very clean bed linen We had a great dinner 10 mins away We will recommend to our friends for a stopover from Spain to France 🤗

  Great base for a visit to San Sebastian/ Basque Country

  This hotel would never win any prizes for kerb appeal, being part of a large factory building. But inside it is very different. Modern, clean, well equipped rooms with good use of available space - good sized bathroom, kitchen/ sitting room area with comfortable sofa and large flat-screen TV, and another TV in the bedroom.It is a short walk to a bus stop with regular service to San Sebastian city centre (at 1.80€ one way it is much cheaper than city centre car parking), and is within easy walking distance to a supermarket and the centre of Astigarra itself, and a short drive away from the spectacular scenery of the Basque Country.We had room 108 which, being a corner room, was light and bright with windows on two sides, however the Wifi signal was disappointing in the room but strong in the communal areas.. Just be aware that though the kitchen is well equipped, there are no electrical sockets on the unit to plug in the toaster or mini-hotplate provided so you end up making your toast on the floor. There's no kettle so you might want to take your own. But breakfast is available for just under 5€ - coffee, fresh orange juice, freshly made toast. Would certainly recommend Pension Astigarraga to anyone wanting a base to explore this beautiful area.

  On first glance we thought we had made a huge mistake with our booking as there is nothing nice on the outside. However inside is great. Clean rooms with amazing showers. We arrived at 11.30pm and owners immediately opened room door so my 2 sleeping children could get straight into bed before any check in was completed.The next day my husband used the gym which is fantastic. Easily the best gym I have encountered at any accomodation.Only issue was previous day we confirmed reception would be open until midnight, however on arrival the reception was closed. We were able to make contact via phone and waited approximately 15 mins for someone. Please advise reception of arrival time.

  The bad... Smell of the near by cider house. Took us a while to figure out what it was. Not the most pleasant but some people is more sensitive than others so if you don't mind it or can get used to it, it is an excellent place to stay. Plus you can just close the window and turn on the air con. The good... The Staff who are super friendly, great value for money, doesn't get much better as I spent some time on my research, modern and clean, rooms were cleaned every day. The place Got almost everything you need. Overall... Chances are if you are considering this place it is because it is a cheaper option compared to what you are seeing near and or definitely by far in San Seb. I spent a while checking all options inside and around San Seb both hotels and Airbnb. Other places are old and small compared to this. We traveled as a young family so could not consider those other places and No it is not central and the look outside doesn't give the best first impression but they have done a good job with the facilities they have and great management so good work for them. Great place to stay if you are travelling by car AND don't mind the smell of the cider fermentation that is near by.
