    Poor customer service, maintenance and housekeeping

    We are Hilton Honors and try our best to stay at Hilton, specifically Hamptons, anytime we need a hotel. We arrived at 9:30pm on a Friday. We waited over 10 minutes before we saw any employees to check us in. We tried checking in online but it took just as long for our digital key to appear in our app. After waiting that long, we had to ask for our complimentary water. Typically, I wouldn't care but our experience started out with poor customer service, so this annoyed me more than it should have. The pool was out of order and looked like it has been out of commission for quite some time! We had a disappointed daughter! The fitness center was clean with new machines and free weights. Our room was updated and contemporary. One of the beds has red and brown stains, so there we were, at 11pm, changing sheets. This Hampton needs to work on customer service, maintenance and housekeeping.

    Although this hotel has been updated, there are issues to be corrected. The lighting is extremely poor. Adding 2 more lamps would help.The placement of the bath towels is above the stool. Odd… The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The only ice machine that works is on third floor. The ones on first, second and forth do NOT work.The front desk clerk had a nasty cold and walked around with a tissue covering her mouth. She should have worn a mask OR not been at work!Correcting these issues would benefit the Hilton reputation.

    We have certainly had better stays in Hamptons. This hotel is going through outside renovations,:but our problem was that the room had obviously not been swept and there was a lot of hair in the shower, including in the soap dish. Things inside are pretty run down too. For the cost of this room (over $250.00) I would definately choose another option in Waterloo next time! By the way, the evening desk clerk, Sue, was a very nice lady. The breakfast room was nice.     I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the room. NO weird smells. Great TV, comfy couch, and bed! Nice big desk! Greatcshower! Has everything you need. Would stay here again. It's rare I give 5 stars but this came close.     Cigarette ashes in bathroom!

    Hampton Inns are going downhill. This location used to be great in the past. Our room had stains all over the wallpaper and holes in the wall. The kicker was the cigarette ashes in the toilet paper holder. So gross! Upon looking the ashes had collected on the baseboard surface as well.
