    Very Sad

    rating06 Nov 2023

This used to be one of our happy, favourite hotels. We visited several times as a couple and with our adult children. What an absolute shame . The views from room best have ever seen. The restaurant manager was brilliant and she had it running like clockwork. Zorro and his team were fab in keeping everyone entertained day and night. . This hotel used to be a little, hidden gem. What a shame 😢 Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Hotel Galeon, responded to this review Dear Olida,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback,We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the stunning views from your room and that our restaurant manager and entertainment team made a positive impression on you. Our team works hard to ensure our guests have a memorable stay, and we appreciate your kind words. However, we are saddened to learn that your recent visit did not live up to your previous experiences at our hotel. We continually strive to improve our facilities and services, and we take all feedback seriously. A great classic Hotel

    rating15 Oct 2023

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, it was definitely a room with a view, number 813, nice big terrace, fantastic view. The room was basic but had everything you needed. The only thing we would have like was a screen door because of the mosquitoes and the AC didn't seem to be working properly. The hotel was situated close to the beach, it was about a 10 minute walk but if you didn't want to do it there was a shuttle bus that was constantly running for the beach to the hotel and back again. All in all we had a great holiday. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Hotel Galeon, responded to this review Dear Diana,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the fantastic view from your room and our large terrace. It's great to know that our location near the beach and the shuttle bus service added convenience to your stay.We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the mosquitoes and the air conditioning issue in your room. We will look into the air conditioning problem and ensure it is addressed promptly. As for the mosquitoes, we recommend guests to keep the doors and windows closed to prevent them from entering the room.We look forward to welcoming you back on a future trip.Best regards,Subdirector / Deputy Manager

Has a we will return feeling if only for the views and peace and quiet

    rating11 Oct 2023

THE HOTEL is very tired and is due to shut for renovation. Need a electrical point adaptor still on 2 pin system. No literature about the stay excursions etc. The road to the beech is closed. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Telephone in room did not work. No ironing board. Jet 2 rep attends occasionally they rely on the advice book in reception No aqua or day time activities. No nails hair or massage treatments The food is OK and the staff very friendlyTHE HOTEL is ideal as a base and the views are to die for. The evening entertainment is good but too many quiz nights. The area is very quiet with a super market and a couple of beech bars..No bars with entertainment except Caseys Irish Bar which opens at 11pm and closes at 3am. Casey and his family are a very good act and worth a visit. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to the lovely beech where busses will take you to various places on the Island If you want a quiet holiday and a place to relax then once it has been renovated this is the place to go. Should go from a 3 star to a 4 or 5 star but expect the very reasonable price it is at the moment to rocket. Not every bodies cup of tea but for us it has a go back feeling. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Hotel Galeon, responded to this review Dear Jandj1933, Thank you for reviewing your recent experience. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the stunning views and the peaceful atmosphere during your stay. Not exactly a holiday, felt more like a bad dream

    rating08 Oct 2023

For starters, this should be a 4 star hotel. Jet2 rating is 3 star, but even that seems too much. The hotel looks nice in the reception area and the lobby, but once we got to the room we realised how dated it is. This was the first time we've seen an AC unit whith no remote. But everything was working and the room was clean. It was quite a shock to realise that there is no fridge in the room. The worst was yet to come...The hotel is a concrete structure with zero soundproofing and the noise level is off the scale. If someone would sneeze, he would be heard in eight rooms on three levels. And we heard it all: loud farts babyes crying, wild parties, furious sex... but the most ennoing of them all was the sound of slamming doors. Every two minutes a door would slam shut and that made it impossible for us to get any rest during the day. Also, when the rooms were cleaned, furniture was moved and of course it was dragged on the floor...Then the food...We are not fussy when it comes to food, but we can't poison ourselves.First evening I got some potato salad that was wey off, then the second evening my wife got a tapas that was smelling funny. After that we played a game, whoever would find a spoiled dish, would pay for lunch the next day. Thank God we were not all inclusive. At breakfast it was the tomatoes that smelled like they were chopped days before they were served. It was not the first time we ate leftover dishes, but as long as everything is still fresh, no problem.I think though, they pushed it too far for the dinner we had on our last night: they served a pork stew with rice and chips in it...The location is great, the beach is fantastic, fantastic views, the staff are friendly, but we would not recommend hotel Galleon. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Hotel Galeon, responded to this review Dear Terhesalin,Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your review. We are glad to hear that you appreciated our fantastic location, beach, and the friendliness of our staff. Our hotel aims to provide a memorable experience for our guests, and your feedback is valuable to us.We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. We understand that the noise level in the rooms was not ideal, and we will take your comments into consideration for future improvements. Regarding the food, we strive to offer a variety of fresh and delicious options at our buffet restaurant. We are sorry to hear that it did not meet your expectations, and we will address your concerns with our culinary team. As for the absence of a fridge in the room, we appreciate your feedback and will consider it for future updates. We hope we can welcome you back in the very near future.Kind regards from all the team,Subdirector / Deputy Manager

    Excellent off-peak stay

    rating03 Oct 2023

As a group of four we thought this was more a three star hotel. The room decor is a bit tired. We enjoyed the food ( and Sangria on tap ). The location is good. The walk down to the beach was good for our waistline though we used the hotel minibus as well. We would stay here again. The secluded beach and bay were great though entry into the sea was tricky due to pebbles. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Hotel Galeon, responded to this review Dear Guest, Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us.We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the food, sangria, and our beachfront location. Our hotel's proximity to the beautiful and secluded beach is indeed one of our top features. We appreciate your feedback regarding the room decor and will take it into consideration for future improvements. It's great to know that our complimentary shuttle service to the beach was helpful during your stay, and we hope it added convenience to your vacation. We are delighted that you would consider staying with us again and enjoyed the picturesque surroundings of our hotel. We look forward to the pleasure of seeing you on a future occasion.Kind regards,Subdirector / Deputy Manager
