The hotel is located in the heart of the “Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas” nature reserve, in the small town of Saucejo. It is 25 km from the town of Cazorla and just an hour by car from the cities of Ubeda and Baeza, both of which are recognised as World Heritage Sites. The elevated position of the hotel offers unsurpassable panoramic views of the surrounding hillsides, which are covered with native pine trees. The atmosphere of tranquillity and the beautiful enclaves such as the “Cañada de las Fuentes”, or the “Salto de Linarejos”, make it a meeting point for lovers of nature. The Parque Cinegetico is about an hour away by car. Arroyo Frio, with its range of bars and nightlife, is about a 20-minute drive away. The nearest links to public transport and the bus station can be found in Cazorla. The Pantano Lake is about an hours drive away. The Guadalquivir River Information Centre is about a 90-minute drive away, while the Torre del Vinagre and the Borosa River Information Centre are both just 30 minutes away.

    How I envisioned it would be

    This Parador is within a national park, 35 minutes from the closest town. Getting to it is via a very twisty mountain road. Those who don’t like that type road should consider another location. It is good for outdoors enthusiasts or for those who just want piece and quiet.Once there, visitors are greeted with a stunning view of the mountains. The Parador isn’t overly large. Parking is in a courtyard and there is an EV charging point. Check in was easy. There’s a cozy, yet decent sized lounge for relaxing or for groups to gather.The room was fairly standard for a Parador and had everything one needs. It looked out over the mountains; not all rooms do. Neither complimentary water nor a pot for boiling water was provided like in some Paradors, but there were hiking poles that came in handy when walking a couple of the trails by the hotel.The staff was very cordial and helpful.
