  Will never book this hotel again

  I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The risk of only being offered an apartment facing north is high. That means cold living spaces and absolutely no sun on the balcony. (I think that for the same reason there is not even a table on the balcony). The beds are as hard as stones. Elementary cookware is missing and the lighting in the kitchen section is lousy. The apartments are poorly soundproofed. Even snoring could be heard from the apartment next door at night.Furthermore, as the reception staff does not act friendly and service minded, thumbs can only be turned down for this hotel.   better than expected

  We booked this hotel ( self catering ) for a good price in the UK through loveholidaysTo be honest, we were alittle apprehensive before arriving in La Palma as what to expect in the hotel.Our worries were soon gone when we arrived. The hotel is very good value and we'd consider staying again.Good Points;The reception staff ladies are very helpful and friendly, the housemaid service is spot on, beds are comfy, my son thought the sofa bed was decent, bathroom/shower were good, we had a great seaview from our room,the location of the hotel was very good, 5 mins from Santa Cruz and many shops/cafes/restaurants on your doorstep, there was always carparking spaces, small kitchenette area, beach less than 5 mins walk and the price is great!Bad points;furniture may need updating, but was suitable for our needs1 small sofa for 2 adults and 1 large teenagerwe're overall very pleased with our stay AptosCentrocancajos, Reception at Apartamentos Centro Cancajos, responded to this review Dear Mr Billy B.,Thank your for the time dedicated to share your opinion.   Missing even the basic necessities

  This is too expensive compared to what you get. The kitchen is missing the basic equipment. There are only a couple of forks etc. There is not a dish brush or soap. The power outlets are outdated. The furnitures are crummy and not working.At least you can rent a wifi hotspot device from the reception that may be the most positive side of this place. The location is ok.

  The area is very quiet, only 4-5 restaurants, no bars, a few cafes. Nice wide promenade walk along coast to some shops. Good for wheelchairs etc.Small black sand beach with sun loungers.The apartments were fairly basic. No bathtub but a dry good shower. Nice flatscreen tv but no English channels or subtitles.. Hairdryer available on request - no charge.The swimming pool was very cold. Never saw anyone enter it.   Basic accommodation but good location

  Positive sides+ Location: By the beach, by the bus stop, 5 minutes drive from airport+ The view: At least from our two apartments, one with a nice and one with a great view even though they were only on the 2nd floor+ The surrounding area: Services (car rental, some restaurants, pharmacy, a couple of small grocery stores etc.) nearby, Los Cancajos is a very clean and quiet place surrounded by the ocean and nature+ The small kitchenette: Not newly renovated but had everything you need (coffee maker, microwave, hot water kettle, stove with normal oven etc.) for preparing simple meals when travelling with kidsNegative sides:- Modest rooms: Old wooden furniture, very limited space in rooms if travelling with a family, not very clean- Bathroom: Needs renovating, which they seem to be doing at some parts of the building already, 1/2 of our apartments were already renovated- Swimming pools: Need immediate renovation, also terribly cold (In January) and could use a little heating- The beds: Ok, but very hard to sleep on and very limited pillows- Extra beds: Made from the sofa, terribly untidy, not vacuum cleaned at all - and not suitable for adults because of the small size- Cleaning not very thorough: No dust was really removed during our stay, the floor was wiped with a lot of cleaning chemicals- Breakfast: A simple continental Breakfast: A simple continental breakfast at the cafeteria located at the same building. Coffee, bread, juice and a youghurt or a fruit. Not worth the money, though, if you appreciate a healthy breakfast buffet.I would recommend this hotel if you appreciate the location and the price and are not terrified with relatively modest accommodation. It has its plus sides but it's not perfect. Our holiday was a success, but it was mostly thanks to La Palma island, our excursions and hiking trips, not because of the accommodation. But the accommodation didn't spoil it either.Would I visit La Palma again? - I definitely will!Would I visit Los Cancajos again? - I could!Would I visit Centrocancajos Apts again? - I don't know.Would I visit it again with small kids: No. AptosCentrocancajos, recepción at Apartamentos Centro Cancajos, responded to this review Muchas gracias por su detallada valoración. Nos alegra saber que ha disfrutado de su estancia en nuestra isla.Nuestros apartamentos son tal cuál los describimos en las diferentes plataformas, acompañadas de fotografías reales que muestran el estado de las instalaciones y el interior de los apartamentos. Los baños, efectivamente, hemos comenzado a reformar algunos baños de los apartamentos, pero debido al tamaño del complejo, esto lleva tiempo.La piscina, se encuentra al aire libre y en invierno hace frío, esto es normal. La energía necesaria para calentar una piscina de estas dimensiones es enorme, y el La Palma, la electricidad se produce con motores de gasoil. Por lo tanto, estamos ayudando a preservar la naturaleza de nuestra isla y frenando el calentamiento global. Es cierto que necesita algunas reparaciones y comenzaremos en breve.Las camas, en todos nuestros apartamentos hay colchones completamente nuevos, y los sofá-cama se abren al doble de su tamaño. El desayuno, es tipo continental, tal como lo describe usted. Lamentablemente no podemos ofrecer desayuno tipo bufete en la cafetería.En cuanto a la calidad-precio, no son apartamentos de lujo, pero están bien equipados para pasar una agradable estancia, tienen buenas vistas y la mejor ubicación de la localidad, justo frente a la playa y con buenas comunicaciones en bus a la ciudad o aeropuerto.
