Very quiet & peaceful, not a lot happening & older clientele , a car maybe a must ? Or just walk ....shops are there if you need them. Restaurant food locally ,is very good too. As are supplies if staying in an apartment.

Don't plan to cook a meal here

    rating16 Feb 2019

We paid extra to book an 'Apartment with kitchen' rather than a 'Studio' as although we included half board we like to cook our own lunches. The apartments have been very recently refurbished, not to a very special standard but at least things in the apartment are new and fresh, however the so-called kitchen would be funny if it wasn't so ridiculous. I've attached a photo so readers can see it, it's a kind of cupboard unit about 1.5m wide x 2m tall. In it there's a standard fridge, a drawer with 4 sets of cutlery, a corkscrew and a tin opener. In the middle a small sink with hot and cold water, then above that on a shelf is a small microwave oven with a set of plates and cups for 4. To use the sink you either have to stoop over and insert your head under the top shelf, or do everything at arm's length! The is no hob or oven, no other cooking utensils or tools such as kitchen knives, nothing else at all. To the side of this unit is another 2m of empty space which obviously used to house a length of worktop with hob and all the other things I decribe as missing. Clearly the spec for the 'refurbished' kitchen was drawn up by a deranged moron. This is a big hotel complex but the road access and parking (if you arrive by car as we did) is woefully inadequate. The access road has a line of cars parked on one side for nearly a kilometre up to the main road, making it almost impossible to pass if you meet another car coming the other way as you approach the hotel. In front of the hotel are about 40 parking spaces all guarded by a post and a padlock, it turned out that when you check in you can pay 5 euros a day to park there. This I did and they gave me a key for the padlock marked '22'. I got in the car and drove around looking for parking space 22 but none of them were marked with any number. At this point I decided that my key must fit any of the padlocks so I stopped the car, got out and tried it in one. It didn't fit but then I noticed a tiny little label on the locking device in 12 point font size that said '39', so I spent the next 5 minutes driving around, stopping every few spaces and getting out and down on my hands and knees looking for space no. 22, so my car is parked there now. Other things in the hotel are reasonably good - food served in the dining room as part of the half board (breakfast and dinner) is similar to other similar establishments we have stayed at, the pools and surrounding areas are clean and well maintained, the staff are pleasant and helpful. The hotel has a mini-supermarket outside but there is a far better one in Puerto Naos, about 15 mins walk away, which has English and German newspapers arriving around midday every day. We would stay here again next year but go for a standard studio room, not bother with the apartment.

    Lovely Hotel and apartments

    rating01 Jun 2018

Has a lovely week at this hotel and apartments, our apartmwent over looked the sea and had wonderful views of puerto naos. The hotel is a stone throw away from the beach, shops and restaurants. Great amenities, kids club, exercise classes and evening entertainment (mainly for older people but we also enjoyed it) The staff where all helpful and friendly. Visited the restaurant a couple of times, food was good ans a nice variety.2 pools, hotel pool very pretty over looking the sea. Apartments basic but had all we needes to make basic breakfast and lunches, spacious but a bit tires but we paid a good price so didnt mind. On the last day we was allowed to use a hotel room to shower, the hotel is definatley 4 star the room had an amazing view and was a beautiful room.Puerto Naos was quiet and we was the only english i saw but we didnt mind went on a couple of lovely walks, one to the next beach cape verde, lovely small cove with small rock pools and a beach bar.Really enjoyed our visit to Tarzacote 8km away we took the bus which is 210euro pp to los llamos then you jump on another bus 137euros to tarzacote. Lovely town with a beautiful beach, walks up the mountain, lots of places to eat and a marina, had a cool hippy vibe. Also went on a whale and dolphin boat trip from there coat 75euros for a family of 4, didnt see any whales but the dolphins where amazing.La palma is a beautiful island i would suggest hiring a car if you can so many nice places and views

Rooms are falling apart, Breakfast and Location were the best thing here!..Will stay in Main Hotel next time!

    rating27 Apr 2018

Checked in early, although the room was not ready, I was able to store my luggage and happily changed into my shorts for the hot sun. The check-in was the longest ever to be honest, I am not sure what the Male Receptionist was doing..Not many smiles or interest from the older Male Reception Team, but the ladies on Reception were very smiley and even the housekeeper. I wish I had booked the Hotel now as the Apartments are run down and the hot water for a bath is absolutely pathetic..Water is hot for half a bath and that is it, good job I was on my own. I had a ground floor Apartment, it was okay for 1 night. I slept well and the bed was comfortable, although did get woken up at 6am by a Rooster, but the free wifi is not great at all - password did not want to work. Breakfast was the best bit, so much to choose from and what was expected from a 4 Star Hotel The location was brilliant too! The majority of holidaymakers in Puerto Naos use this hotel as it the only main accommodation in this small resort. The Bus Stop is just a 10 minute stroll away - ideal! Puerto Naos can be very windy indeed!
