  Just got back , firstly we had a lovely relaxing holiday , the island is beautiful and well worth doing some of the trips to appreciate the devastation from the irruption of 2021. We stayed in the apartments, we had paid for a side sea view! We arrived at 22.45 ,Our allocated apartment was overlooking the pool the side view consisted of. 12 inch slot in the concrete! We also were treated to very loud evening entertainment at the poolside bar to be fair did finish soon after but we soon discovered that started quite early in the evening, not quite the relaxing time we had planned, On arrival to the room we discovered that we could not unlock the bathroom door , the room was basic , dirty no air con and in need of some attention, we requested a room change , not possible & technical was called 1/2 an hour later we could access the bathroom door after.After speaking to jet 2 rep Adriana who is amazing ! And although another apartment had been arranged we decided to pay for an upgrade at the cost of €420 to include beautiful sea view & air con ! The area isn’t really in our eyes ready for self catering visitors, the only mini supermarket is a small spar , we coped but if you were a family or older couple then carrying supplies a distance in the heat is not great. If you are an evening arrival then there is no where to buy water from other than the pool bar (small bottles) You can catch the bus to La Llamos (25mins) where next to the bust station is a big Lidl the bus runs from outside the hotel entrance. There is a handful of restaurants in the vicinity which we found difficult to book the area is very typically Spanish with siesta times there is also a language barrier if you don’t know any Spanish, ours is quite limited and we managed. We used the hotel buffet (€30 per person) a couple of times which is lovely and a great choice of food. There is a missed opportunity with the pool bar only serving drinks as the main pool is really only geared up for all inclusive however they will serve you at a cost. The beach is beautiful but if you struggle with walking it’s not for you, is a black sand and pebble beach with some sun loungers at a cost , the sea can be quite fierce at times so not ideal for small children , again very typical Spanish very busy morning and evening.There is a courtesy room available to book if you are leaving later in the day speak to reception, this provides clean towels etc but only available for 30mins We had a lovely holiday after all the upset , we wanted quiet relaxing break which is what we got, there are no sports/Karaoke bars , no where to watch football if you are looking for this the area is right for you We have added some photos some the bad ones are from the first apartment Yeray Díaz, Other at Apartments La Palma, Affiliated By Melia, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay at Apartments La Palma Affiliated by Meliá.We are pleased to know that, despite some initial inconveniences with your first apartment, you ultimately enjoyed a relaxing holiday and were able to discover the beauty of La Palma.   I was a little worried about previous reviews but all was good.Apartment had everything we needed and the most amazing views across Puerto Naos.Would go down to the pool at 11am and still sunbeds available. Housekeeping came every day but said no most days as didn’t need it and when the came, beds & towels were changed.Lots of lovely restaurants 5 minutes walk and the Spar has everything you need.   not suitable for a holiday when you are a couple. Ok for families with children. Huge complex, poor service, rude staff.   Great location poor facilities

  The hotel has beautiful views and is located on a small island right on the beach front, I cannot fault the views it’s gorgeous. There is not much for kids to do unless they’re happy with a pool and the beach. If you go self catering you are segregated from other parts of the hotel you cannot use the other pool and kids club unless you have an all inclusive band. The rooms are ok standard but bedding is not changed throughout a week stay. If you are self catering you have to get a taxi to Aldi and back as it’s not walking distance, there is a small spa local but not ideal for self catering purposes. No services/food available on late flights so make sure u pack some food if you arrive here late. Not many restaurants to dine out in we stuck to the same 2 restaurants and no children’s menus so my 7 year old had to get an adult meal which he was fine with. Not massively overpriced which was good between 10-20 euros for a meal. There is never any late check out room available so you have no where to shower or change your clothes and freshen up before you go home if again you have a later flight they have showers in the gym but not ideal for families. We had to use communal toilets to change from swimwear. I would recommend more for couples but nice for a small getaway - more beneficial if you go all inclusive. Entertainment they have a different singer on every evening not much for children.   I enjoyed my stay at this beautiful hotel in such a stunning locationThe apartment was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was small but had everything i needed for basic mealsThe Mexican restaurant was very good and also the lunch menu at the main pool (salmon poke bowl - excellent)Nightly entertainment was good and there seemed to be plenty of daytime activities with the irrepressible MarcosAs I was travelling with a mobility scooter I had requested ground floor which I was given, as there were plenty of ramps, access around the hotel was great There was however a big problem with accessing the promenade and the town, this was one of the things that attracted me to the hotel in the first placeErosion has made part of the coastal path unsafe so the only access is via three flights of steps, totally unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues or families with prams or little onesI had to get into town by going up the main drive and along the main road a distance of almost a mileThe wonderful jet2 rep Helena went to a lot of trouble to look around the hotel with me and approached management on my behalf It should be a reasonably simple task to install a new path from the ground floor of block 1 - come on Melia!I would definitely return if this was sorted out Yeray Díaz, Other at Apartments La Palma, Affiliated By Melia, responded to this review Dear guest, Thank you for choosing Apartments La Palma Affiliated by Melia for your holiday in La Palma and for the time spent sharing your review.
