    Nice and quiet

    rating17 Jul 2018

If you are looking for a nice and quiet place to stay, this is it! We really enjoyed the silence, great view for sunsets, night sky for stargazing, the swimming pool (where we were always alone). There are only five apartments. The kitchen was very well equipped. Towels were changed every second day, for some reason the dishcloth wasn't. Only the first toilet roll was said to be included, but they provided a new roll when it was necessary. The only downfalls were the electricity that fell out most mornings (it was a new problem and will be fixed soon I guess), due to which also the pumps of the swimming pool fell out. The shower head needed renewal, though we didn't complain about it, it worked well enough for us. Appt 1 is furthest away from the swimming pool, nr 5 closest. The beds were ok, king size was great. The swimming pool was really nice and big enough.

    Excellent Autumn Break

    rating07 Nov 2017

Our daughter had suggested we visit La Palma, and has stayed at Casa Bepe before. As we like to be a little "off the beaten tack", this suited us perfectly. Most of the time we had the whole complex to ourselves so we could really relax. Restaurants and shops are within a mile, and it was a great place to explore more of the Island. Nearby Tazacorte has larger supermarkets, and Puerto Tazacorte has bars and restaurants overlooking the sea, and also whale and dolphin watching excursions from the Harbour.Overall the bungalow was clean and well equipped, but I feel to get 5* would need a fan and a microwave. We would go to Casa Bepe again.

    Top marks, Casa Bepe!

Don't listen to the moaners! We didn't read the reviews for Casa Bepe until we were there - and if we had, we might not have chosen it...and we would have missed one of the most pleasant experiences of our lives! Some of the moans:Unreliable wifi - we used an iPad all the time and never had a problem.Water not very hot - we had to be careful not to scald ourselves in the shower, the water was so hotAll toilet paper had to be put in a bin - we made this unpleasant task more manageable by buying drawstring plastic bags.Too many flies - we bought a fly spray, and because the toilet paper was secured fast, there were very few flies anyway. We also used the drawstring bags for food waste, which also helped to keep the flies away. You have to have a car - we agree with this, but with a little bit of research this would be obvious before booking. We had a car, and managed to see most of this beautiful islandThe accommodation was comfortably and adequately furnished, so we don't understand why some people have complained. The Reception staff were excellent, very welcoming and helpful. We would go back any time!

Not up to standard as promised

    rating13 Jan 2015

We stayed with a couple of friends at Casa Bepe for five days in January of 2015. The bungalow has a very nice view of the Atlantic, the kitchen was well equipped and we had bread delivered three of the five days - due to holydays. One or two times during or stay the bungalow was cleanedIt was at the time very cold in the evening and at night so after one very cold nights sleep we arranged to have one electric heater, so at least one of the rooms was heated. It is required that you put the toilet paper in a bin emptied by the staff twice during or stay. Combine that with a number of flies that were in the bungalow and in the bathroom and you will understand why we were not satisfied with the stay. The internet access is a joke. I think we had in all three times five minutes access to the internet, which is annoying as the owner advertises with wifi and the fact that one of us had to work on the net. The TV set had only Spanish channels – which is good for language practicing.I can recommend the two nearby restaurants – within walking distance – but overall I was not satisfied with the quality – a beautiful view cannot be balanced with the combination of missing wifi, the many flies and the toilet paper bin.

    Be warned before paying

    rating11 Jan 2015

Be careful when booking this place since you have to pay in advance and cannot cancel. If I had known about the problems we had I would have expected a big discount which we couldn't get since we had already paid. My partner and I stayed here for the New Year. We wanted somewhere quiet and away from everything which was why we chose this place, plus we were told there was internet which was important since both of us needed to work. The area is lovely and in many ways it did fulfil our needs however there were many problems which made it difficult to enjoy. It is also very annoying when you are given information on the website which is simply not true. When we arrived there was no internet. After a couple of days and several frustrating phone calls we were given a mobile device which didn't work very well. It was so slow that it was almost impossible to connect at times. It would have been better if we had been told from the start that there is no proper internet there. We had no hot water for a several days which considering it was cold in the evenings this was not much fun. A man came to fix the hot water heater which needed a new thermostat however it only worked for one day and then stopped working again. The ad said fresh bread everyday, this never happened, again why say it if it isn't true. I also found it strange and unhelpful that there was no information at all left in the property that gave information on the local area like where to eat, shop etc. A few leaflets and basic info would have been nice. The place is quite isolated and there is no reception area where you can ask. The island itself it lovely and a nature lovers paradise. I have visited most of the canary islands and stayed in many places. La Palma is definitely one of the nicest.
