  Simply Stunning, Relaxing with Attentive Staff - PERFECT!

  What a find, what a gem, what a PERFECT hotel retreat on the West side of La Palma which I realise now is far sunnier than the East side. I'm not posting pics as there are loads here that show you what this fab hotel is about already.Upon arrival, which was late at night, the staff were so welcoming, polite, friendly, helpful, and couldn't do enough - a nice glass fizz was most welcome after our flight n transfer. Our room was excellent, and fully furnished and equipped with all usual mod cons.Hotel gardens and pool is a must - we spent an hour wandering round just looking at the beautiful plants and taking in the pool area.Breakfast is balanced just right, a great selection of cold fruit, cheese and meats with croissants, toast etc set outside in a lovely courtyard area where you can meet other guests. There is also a cooked breakfast option which offers some lovely simple dishes that will set you up the day.We stayed for 7 nights, and wish we could have stayed longer, but commitments prevented that, but, what really impressed was how attentive staff are without being intrusive or over bearing. Adrianne, the Jet2 holiday rep is a scream, so full of fun and energy and eager to help and certainly assisted me in selecting the right tours etc. One point worth noting, which is NOTHING to do with the hotel, but a word of warning. Unlike other resorts where you have touts and offices offering tours etc, there was none of this, and the only way to book tours is either online where the collection points are invariably nowhere near Tazacorte, or via Jet2 who do ensure local hotel collection - so think about tours before you arrive and research them.The North East Tour and the 4*4 Volcano Tour are a must as is the Star Gazing, but this was sold out, but, just look up, and the sky is full of stars everywhere.Beautiful hotel, FIRST RATE STAFF, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and would have no difficulty recommending this to anyone.   Excellent hotel, staff, rooms, flowers and pool

  We had a perfect experience. Staff were lovely - esp Nelson who looked after our breakfast and pool delivery bar service with light humour and big smilesThe rooms are bathrooms are amazing. The effort made to buy antiquities is everywhere and wonderful. We used the main restaurant once for dinner - lovely - but we are within a few walking minutes of the town’s restaurants so we used them all for lunch and dinner. The hotel organised us taxi’s and transport to/from the airport. The gardens in the hotel are so beautiful, it’s mesmerising. We will return.   Place with lots of soul!

  An amazing hotel, slightly quirky decor, small but lovely pool, set within beautiful peaceful gardens. All the staff are friendly and soooo very helpful. Too many to mention by name but I did promise (Lord) Nelson a shout out! ?? Embarrassingly, as a non Spanish speaking Brit, I was grateful that they all had pretty good English. La Palma is a beautiful island and I personally think this hotel is in the best part. We used local buses and taxis to get around. All very reasonably priced.Don't come here if you want wild nightlife but do come for a relaxing time with amazing sea food!   La Hacienda de Abajo "Bonita".

  La Hacienda de Abajo is definitely a home away from home. The grounds are beautiful with a lush garden that makes you dream of faraway places and other times. The grounds are wrapped in a green forest of banana plants. The rooms are extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated with antiquities. The staff is very friendly, helpful and very professional. Breakfast was always delicious and well served. Lunch and dinner at the beautifully decorated restaurant were always delicious, and the treatment insuperable…it was a place to stay for hours. I now have a home away from home. It is close to all places one wishes to see. No wonder they call this island "La Isla Bonita". I would call this unique hotel "La Hacienda de Abajo Bonita".
