    Upgrade to the Level

    rating22 May 2026

Overall, this is a very good hotel. Clean, comfortable and well maintained. Our best decision was to upgrade to the Level. Our room was large, well looked after and we had good afternoon sun on a spacious terrace. As a Level guest you have breakfast in a separate restaurant. It is slightly more restricted than the main buffet, but the comfort, food and drink quality and the level of service make it a great experience. The Level lounge is another good experience. Opens at 11am for coffee. At 12 they put out drinks and snacks with wine and soft drinks and between 4 and 6, they put out good quality Spirits.Closes at 7, when dinner starts. It has plentiful indoor and outdoor seating.Staff throughout the Level are Superb. It is a genuine VIP experience. The Dinner experienced is acceptable rather than great. The Salad Bar, bread and cheese selection were excellent. The desserts were plentiful and varied. For hot food the fish and chicken were always good, the pork acceptable. However, the beef and lamb were always overcooked and disappointing. For our taste we would have liked it warmer, but this happens in buffets all over the world. One complaint. Where is the drinking water? When you have a plate of food you need something to drink. You can buy water from the drinks waiter, but on busy nights you can finish your meal before he arrives at the table. Not acceptable.Finally. We had a couple of minor issues with our room. The Reception and Maintenance Staff were Excellent. Also had a couple of issues with Jet2. Our rep, Justina, was friendly and helpful. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia La Palma, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your recent stay with us at Meliá La Palma. We're delighted you enjoyed The Level upgrade and found your spacious terrace room with afternoon sun to be well-maintained.It's wonderful to know our lounge's curated daytime refreshments and evening spirits selection enhanced your VIP experience. Our team takes pride in delivering attentive service, and we're thrilled this stood out during your stay.We regret the inconsistency in dinner temperatures and overcooked meats didn't meet expectations, though we're pleased you appreciated the salad bar and dessert variety.Your feedback about water service delays during peak times has been noted to improve beverage accessibility. We're glad our reception and maintenance teams promptly resolved your room concerns. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.Best regards,Caroline P., Meliá La Palma Team

    Lovely couples break from UK

    rating09 May 2026

Just made a 5 but felt the rooms were a little dated although the rest of the hotel has had new decor and looks great. I also think parking needs to be better managed and clearer explained. We parked a 10 minute walk away which was not an issue but felt frustrating at 10pm arrival time. Good throughout was excellent Gym was good Pools were good but not sure how they’d handle very busy.Staff nice. Nice walk to the shops but only the basics there, didn’t get overly exited about the restaurants enough to try and the food at the hotel was very good so not worth it for a couple of nights. Thoroughly enjoyed Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia La Palma, responded to this review Dear Sir,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your stay with us at Meliá La Palma. We are delighted you appreciated our refreshed decor in common areas and enjoyed the excellent dining experiences throughout your stay.Your kind words about our gym facilities and pool access are much appreciated, and we are glad our team's service contributed positively to your couples' break. We acknowledge your feedback about room aesthetics, as we continue phased updates while preserving structural character. Regarding parking, we are reviewing wayfinding signage to improve arrival clarity, particularly for evening check-ins.Our pool team actively monitors capacity through timed access slots to maintain comfort, even during peak periods. We are thrilled you found our culinary offerings satisfying enough to prioritize them over local restaurants during your short stay.We hope to welcome you back on a future occasion. Best wishes,Marina N., Meliá La Palma Team

    Generally very good.

    rating23 Apr 2026

Very nice and clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. great heated seaside pool. Few things I did not like are mostly in the buffet area. Always wet plates, often not clean. Food is pushed out too much too fast which leads to cold pizza, soggy fries, overcooked meats. Coffee is pretty bad. I would appreciate a paid high quality option. When ordering a drink during dinner, guests are required to operate the waiter's tablet; choose a tip option, or not, hit return, and sign. 'I don't work there'. People don't shower before pool (one shower not working doesn't help) and nobody seems to care. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia La Palma, responded to this review Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your observations on your recent stay at Meliá La Palma. We are delighted to hear you found our hotel clean and enjoyed the heated seaside pool, as well as the attentive service from our team.We acknowledge your concerns regarding the buffet experience and the coffee quality, which do not meet our usual standards. Additionally, we have noted your feedback on the drink ordering process and are reviewing how to simplify this interaction. The maintenance team has addressed the non-functioning pool shower to ensure all facilities are operational.Your satisfaction with the pool atmosphere is important, and we are committed to maintaining a welcoming environment for all guests. We hope we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back on another occasion. With our best wishes,Emilia M., Meliá La Palma Team

    Good but could be better

    rating17 Apr 2026

The Melia La Palma hotel is located on the beach in the small village of Puerto Naos which has a few bars and shops. The Hotel has a bus stop 5 minutes walk away which gives you the option of travelling around the island on cheap public transport. Car hire is good value, we had a package with Jet2 and a day trip cost was almost the same as a car hire for 3 days. The hotel has had some decoration upgrades completed in the bedrooms, restaurant areas and reception, however the corridor's have had little in the way of upgrades for some years which lets the Hotel down. The rooms are very clean with excellent towel and bedding changes. Ritual products are supplied in the bathroom. The Hotel entertainment is very good, both through the day and an evening program every night. The food choice in the restaurants is very good with a large choice of food for every taste. Not so good is the pool area, the amount of sunbeds around the pool bar is not enough, the lack of space is the root cause of this. One part of this area has at some point been a lawned area, it is now jst soil and dust.We had the Level package which on the whole was worth the extra, however you should get a bed turn down in the evening, this consists of either a chocolate left on the bed, or if you are still in the room a chocolate passed to you, or as on the last 2 nights nothing at all. This is not a bed turn down that we are used to from other Hotel chains. We also had an all inclusive package, again on the whole this was very good with a good choice of drinks and food throughout the day. As mentioned earlier we had booked through Jet2. On arrival (22.30) we checked in but had no food, the restaurant closes at 22.00, this is not good. Then on the last day we had an evening flight home, we cleared our room by 12 noon as requsted but we were then told that we could not use the restaurants with our all inclusive package as our contract terminated at 12 noon. We have never had an all inclusive package that did not include food on the last day of a holiday. So in summary we had no food whatsoever on the first day, and breakfast only on the last day. Be aware of this if booking an all inclusive package. The Hotel representative blaimed Jet2 for this because of the flight times, the Jet2 representative at the airport was aware of the issue but blaimed the Hotel. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia La Palma, responded to this review Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your observations on your recent stay at Meliá La Palma.Your recognition of room renovations, entertainment quality, and dining variety is valued.Noted concerns about corridor updates, sunbed availability, and The Level turndown consistency are being reviewed. All-inclusive meal timing limitations reflect standard package parameters tied to check-in/check-out times.Your comments guide our continuous refinement of guest experiences. We look forward to welcoming you back on a future occasion. Best regards,Emilia M., Meliá La Palma Team

    Poor service

    rating05 Apr 2026

Very poor service. We arrived at 21:30 and there was only one staff member at reception. Despite knowing that many guests were arriving (including from Manchester), we were made to wait over an hour and a half .The check-in process took forever, with unnecessary forms to complete while children and disabled guests were left tired and distressed. How is this acceptable? I have never experienced such poor organisation. Extremely disappointing—especially knowing we still have to spend another 7 days here. Shameful. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia La Palma, responded to this review Dear guest,We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your observations on your recent stay at Meliá La Palma. We sincerely apologize for the extended wait time you experienced upon arrival, particularly given the late hour and the presence of younger and less mobile guests. Our check-in procedures aim to ensure accuracy and compliance with local regulations, though we recognize the forms may have added inconvenience during this busy period. We are reviewing our staffing schedules to better align with peak arrival times and will prioritize streamlining processes to prevent similar delays in the future. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more memorable stay in future.Kind regards,Marina N., Meliá La Palma Team
