  Booked for location for the local towns which didn’t disappoint.. the room was excellent and the breakfast was reasonable. The hotel doesn’t have a bar which we felt was disappointing .   Stunning Building and Great Room

  11th Century pilgrims hospital converted into Hotel

  We stayed here for a week as part of a Brittany ferries holiday where hotel and ferry included in price. Really nice hotel with lovely historic features mainly preserved. Large bedroom. Good breakfast with lots of choice included cooked items. We used their underground car park ( 16 EUR per day) as we had bicycles in the car. The car park has electric charging for cars and for bikes next to the cycle parking! We used Santo Domingo de la Calzada as a base for daily cycle rides and were blessed with excellent weather. The only comment I would make would be that it would be nice to have kettle in the room for cups of tea etc.Santo Domingo nice small historic town in Rioja area- nice bars to sample wines and pinchos!Thoroughly recommend.   A Nice historic parador

  Very nice room, and superbly comfy bed. A lovely historic parador, and very friendly helpful reception staff. Given excellent recommendation for a tapas bar within easy walking distance. On street parking is possible in a street behind the hotel. Didn’t have breakfast, so cannot comment on this. However the slight downside is that, apart for breakfasts, you have to walk to the other Parador in Santo Domingo for a Parador dining experience.
