  Very nice Parador in a great location.

  This is a lovely Parador in the middle of Santo Domingo. A perfect location to visit the area. It has a gorgeous lobby to enjoy your pre-dinner drinks. The staff is very attentive and helpful. Indoor or outdoor parking.The only recommendation I would make is investing in soundproof windows.the front rooms right on the main square provides a lovely view however it can be noisy, especially on a Saturday night.   One of the better Paradores we have stayed in

  Stopped here on our way to Santander for the ferry. Located in the heart of the town in a very nice old square, it was a bit tricky to find. We chose the underground car park which was very very tight for a range rover!!They do have a secure open area to park as well. Room was large, warm and comfortable, the main bar area in the hotel is a huge vaulted space and very nice. They is also a small snug bar. Breakfast was adequate, we did not eat in the restaurant but ate locally.   One of the better paradors. We enjoyed our stay. However I have to ask....why do we pay more money for the Superior room but there is no water to drink and no kettle for tea/coffee? There seems not to be a standard policy for all Paradors. It would be nice to know that certain things were guaranteed at every stay.   Our stay at Santo Domingo de la Calzada was both restful and delightful. The staff were attentive and at the same time not over-bearing. We enjoyed being right in the centre of the town.
