Location

This apartment complex enjoys a central location in Puerto del Carmen with the long sandy beach and the main road located just 450 m away. Here guests will find the largest holiday area of the island with bars, nightclubs and shopping centres. Arrecife airport is approximately 10 km from the hotel.

    Great apartments second stay, true review, great family friendly experience great entertainment staff great with the kids and adults activities. Great mini disco in the evening. Food nice, rooms great size. Cleaned most days. The only problem that we had was the man on the deck in the evening was very rude. And the amount of cockroaches was really ridiculous, I left a drink at the side of the bed one night and woke up to a cockroach in my glass. I’m so glad I didn’t need a drink in the night or I may have had it in my mouth. We would return again, if they was to deal with the infestation, as the kids was frightened of them. Great location for to be up early for sunbeds.

    This was our 5th year staying at Cinco Plaza and unfortunately this has been by far the worst experience we’ve had here. We have always enjoyed staying here previously, which makes this review even more disappointing to write.On arrival we immediately noticed several issues with the apartment. The fridge door was broken and literally falling off, the balcony door handle was loose and falling apart, and there was no mirror in the bedroom at all. The couch and curtains were also heavily stained and clearly not being maintained properly.One of the biggest problems throughout the holiday was the noise from cleaners every single morning between approximately 7:30am-9am. We were repeatedly woken by cleaners banging sweeping brushes against the side of our apartment while cleaning the steps beside us. This happened daily and completely ruined the chance of having a relaxing lie in, especially when travelling with a young child.Another major issue was housekeeping. Our beds were not changed once during the entire stay. The only two times clean bedding was supposedly offered were at around 9am when our daughter was still asleep in bed. Every other day the cleaners simply made the beds and tidied the room without actually changing them.The missing bedroom mirror also became frustrating. We asked multiple times over several days for this to be resolved and by the third day we were met with an annoyed response from reception saying maintenance “couldn’t fix it”, despite nobody explaining this previously. We ended up using the small bathroom face mirror for the entire holiday.We were also extremely disappointed with the kids club situation. Our daughter was excited to join in, only to be told it was apparently only available for guests who booked through TUI. I could not find this clearly stated anywhere beforehand and it left our child genuinely upset and excluded.The pool situation also needs addressing. While there are plenty of sunbeds, there are nowhere near enough umbrellas. Previous years had rules preventing beds being reserved before 8am, but this year people were taking umbrellas from 6:30am-7am with no intervention from staff at all. One very large family appeared to take the majority of umbrellas every morning, making it nearly impossible for other guests to get shade.Sadly this stay felt very different from previous years. Standards have clearly dropped in multiple areas including maintenance, housekeeping, noise control and overall guest management.     We had 2 weeks here and it was a very nice resort. Clean tidy and and all staff were very friendly. Our room was kept tidy and cleaned every couple of days. The hole complex was clean and well maintained. The only thing we didn't like was they charged 30 euros for the safe with a 5 euro deposit.
