Location

Ideal for beach holidaymakers, active holidaymakers and families, this boutique hotel is situated in a quiet area in Costa Teguise, about 100 m from a beach.

Facility

This boutique hotel was renovated in 2022. The hotel has 148 non-smoking rooms located in two 6-storey buildings. The friendly staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. A baggage storage service, a currency exchange service, a cash machine, a car hire service, medical assistance, a laundry service and a lounge are available. Wireless internet access in public areas (no extra charge) allows guests to stay connected. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for a fee. Services include a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service (for a fee) to explore the surrounding area.

Rooms

Air conditioning ensures that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a king-size bed and a sofa bed.     Royal level needs to be managed properly

    This is my 3rd stay at the Royal Level, and unfortunately some things have gone down hill which seriously need addressing, as it is impacting the experience for the guests. This is not a cheap hotel to stay in, and it’s extremely insulting that non royal level guests are obtaining access to the private pool and bar because the gates to the pool are no longer working with the wristband. Every day we saw guests sneak in through the top gate as they can just lean over to access the handle. They had not paid for royal level, and other guests had to inform the bar staff or life guards to remove them due to the shortage of sun beds with it being school holidays and therefore very busy. There is also a major problem with the top gate of the royal level pool in the mornings when guests are queueing for sun beds. As it was school holidays, a queue formed every day at 8:30am ready for the pool opening at 9am. However some guests were sneaking in from the top gate to secure sun beds prior to 9am, and this was not addressed once which is extremely unfair. This should not be allowed, and their towels should have been removed. I stayed in room 2308 and paid nearly €100 purely to select the room, which I find disappointing. I had my 2 small children with me (aged 1 and 6) and there was bird faeces all over our balcony chairs, sun bed and table. It took until day 5 for this to be addressed, which is extremely unsanitary with small children. We paid a lot of money for this room and couldn’t use the balcony due to the large amounts of bird faeces. I sent photos to the guest services team who then sent a cleaning team to my room. We also had a morning without any water which was seriously bad timing, as we were going on a full day trip to see the volcano and could not shower. The food has gone down hill, almost every night there is steak or fish on the grill and a real abundance of white meat. The steak is extremely tough, and almost inedible. Most of the staff are excellent and the drinks package is great, but the issues at the royal level pool really do need to be addressed otherwise there is no incentive to pay the upgrade. As frequent returning guests we were extremely frustrated on this visit, we shouldn’t have to file reports every day about non royal level guests accessing the pool without challenge, or half board guests being served drinks for free. The royal level pool desperately needs a ramp installing. We have a pushchair for our baby, as did many other guests, but the entire pool is stairs only which is impractical. Each time we stay we’re advised that our comments regarding this have been noted, but it is never changed. It was also disappointing to see there is no sax player anymore. This was previously a highlight, but now there is magicians or aerobics. There needs to be a serious improvement in how royal level is managed. It’s not acceptable for so many guests to sneak in unchallenged because the gates are broken, or for half board guests to be served drinks and not charged. Please either fix the gates, or have someone frequently patrolling the pool to check wristbands. It is not fair for the bar staff or life guards to have to do this. Based on this experience, I am unsure if I will return again which makes me feel very sad as I previously adored this hotel.

    My husband and I stayed 11 to 18 May 2026. The hotel and room was maintained to a high level of cleanliness. The Royal Level restaurant offered an array of excellent cuisine. The staff were all very polite and friendly. Whilst we didn’t use the facilities there was on site a gym and Olympic size swimming pool, in addition to a selection of other pools, which my husband enjoyed making use of. There is even a spa on site. Would highly recommend and would stay again.     The Best Holiday

    I have stayed at a Barcelo Hotel before but this was fabulous from begining to end where the staff made us feel that we mattered from when we arrived right up until we left. The amenities were fabulous but the choices of things to do made it better and we barely left the hotel and didn't want to.     Ignore negative reviews and visit!

    We recently stayed here for 8 nights, it was our first time visiting the hotel and the barcelo chain in general. The staff are faultless from the moment we arrived they were helpful, pleasant and very attentive. We had everything explained to us at check in and any questions we had along the way were politely answered by the royal level reception. Breakfast is good with a range of choices from healthy to sugary treats - you can also get eggs and pancakes made to order by the chef. Lunch time is great as you can eat at the buffet or order from a poolside menu which included a range of options. In addition to this there’s also a snack bar where you can grab salads/ sandwiches etc if you’re on the go which is very helpful! Dinner options change every night normally by theme we found this a nice touch as it wasn’t repetitive. Food quality was good in general however as others have mentioned the meat could be cooked a little better (sometimes overcooked and dry). However i don’t blame the chefs as i know a lot of people complain over undercooked meat so it may be a way to avoid it? We found the building very modern, clean and pleasant particularly our room. It was very cosy and spacious and had everything you could need! The app is very useful as you can request amenities/room service and refills for bathroom etc easily. The pool areas were great and we particularly liked the royal area which was more relaxed and private. There’s a massive choice of drinks alcoholic and non alchoholic which are always made to a high standard. Special mention to Alec our barman who remembered our orders and gave us amazing service throughout the stay. My partner organised a lovely suprise for my birthday which was carried out efficiently and perfectly by the entertainment team. They also deliver you a card, alchohol and chocolates off their own back which is a lovely touch. Really can’t fault this hotel and its location as it’s close to beaches and shops. Ignore the negative reviews as we would have been upset to have missed out visiting here!
