  Great apartments in the perfect location

  We have recently just returned from a 10 night stay at the BLUESEA Playa Club apartments.Firstly, the location was ideal for anyone who frequently visits the new town area of the strip. The hotel is located no more than 30 seconds away from the Casino and we felt we were at a perfect middle location for all of our usual bars/restaurants. No steep incline/hill into the property so its accessible for those with mobility issues, with a taxi rank just around the corner. The hotel itself had many self catering apartments, we did find the layout to be somewhat confusing and the map they give you at check in is printed a bit small in my opinion. During our stay we helped multiple people find their rooms as they had the same issue. Check-in was quick and easy. The main traveler on the booking has to fill out a small form and scan all passports but we were finished in less than 5 mins. The key to our room was an actual key and not a key card. I didn't mind this but I would suggest giving two keys per room in future. I wake a lot earlier than my partner and often left him sleeping while i went to the shop/ for a walk. Having one key meant I either had to wake him to lock to behind me and then wake him again when I returned, lock him in and take the key with me or leave the apartment open. If we had two keys it would've been easier. I noticed some rooms did have a key card however ours did not.Rooms:We stayed in room 203 at the back of the complex up a staircase. The walk to the room from reception took no more than 2-3 minutes. We had a view onto the side street and the apartment complex behind us. The view didn't bother us, but if your looking for a pool view room avoid our end of the complex. The room was basic but spotlessly clean and serviced every second day. This included sweeping the floors, fresh towels if needed, fresh bed linen if needed, bins changed and toilet paper topped up. The room always smelt lovely and fresh after housekeeping had visited. The kitchen had a fridge with small freezer compartment, an electric hob, a kettle and a sink. There were also a few pots and pans, cutlery, wine and bottle opener and a tea towel. One addition I would recommend is providing dish soap/sponge although we purchased both from the supermarket for probably less than €3. There was a comfortable couch and 3 kitchen chairs in the room and the balcony had an additional table and two chairs. There was a drying rack for clothes on the balcony too. The room had strong air conditioning in the living room area and none in the bedroom. This wasn't an issue for us as we just kept the bedroom door open at night and we didn't feel hot at any stage even when temperatures were at 30 degrees. Our bed was two singles pushed together as a double, although this never normally bothers me it did this time. I would recommend putting a double sheet over the two singles in order to stop them separating during the middle of the night - not a major issue just something to bare in mind! We also found the pillows were very low but again we just propped some of the dress pillows underneath but just another thing to consider! The bathroom had a walk in shower that maintained pressure and temperature at all times. There was soap at the sink and bodywash in the shower available for you to use. We had 2 big towels, one small one for the floor and two hand towels. The bathroom was also left spotlessly clean by housekeeping each time. Pool:There were two pools, one decent sized one and one shallow kids pool. I had seen advertised that the pool was heated but i didn't think it was. Obviously not an issue as it was May, a little bit of shock when you first get in but it was lovely once you were in! I came down most mornings about 9am to get our sunbeds but I was probably the only person there as everyone else was reserving beds. One or two days we came down late and still managed to get two but if you are with a bigger group I'd probably recommend just heading down and waiting for the sun to appear! There was no crazy sunbed wars. We noticed a lot of kids at the complex during our stay. Obviously this was not advertised as an adults only hotel but just to bare in mind it is very busy with kids. We found it a bit annoying at times when the whole pool was taken over by inflatables when the pool rules state none allowed. We're all for them having a bit of craic but don't have rules if your not going to enforce them. We have paid just as much for our few days away and want to be able to enjoy the pool too! As they were jumping in and out all day the tiles around the pool got very slippy and i noticed many people slip and nearly fall, myself included - please bare in mind if you have any mobility issues it was lethal at times! The lifeguard didn't seem to be doing anything about it. As the pool area is small, when the kids were using water guns it was spraying directly at people sitting on the sun beds. Again I'm all for the kids having the craic but they had the place soaked. Peoples towels, bags with phones in them, books etc were drounded from them while the lifeguard sat chatting on her phone and the parents nowhere to be seen. Just something to bare in mind if you prefer a more relaxed pool setting. They had music playing all day through speakers. Reminder to bring your own towels for the pool as these are not provided.Complex:There was a washing machine on site. I think it was €4 for a wash but I didn't use it so cannot confirm. There was access to a HiperDino supermarket next door through the complex. This avoided having to walk around the block to get in. Fresh rolls and pastries available each day. It wasn't a huge shop but a good medium sized one with everything we could've needed and at a good price.There was a small slide/swing set for kids.Pool bar open from 10 every morning. We used this for drinks and small bottles of water throughout the day. I did see some people get food from here but we never did so I don't know what was on offer. Pool table and i think a foosball table were located just outside the pool bar.I would return to this hotel complex in future as the cleanliness and location was a 5/5! Taking one point off as the pool rules could do with a refresh. I can't imagine how busy it'll be in the summer months if that is what we experienced!
