Great sports facilities, shame about CLS Hotel mgt are so poor.

    rating25 Mar 2026

Club La Santa Mgt have for years been a law unto themselves and unresponsive to clients. They have a huge captive market from Denmark schools and colleges who dominate the centre with 90% occupancy, large group bookings of teenagers on various sports camps. These teenagers are, on the whole very well behaved an a pleasure to see enjoying themselves. However, this lax, if not arrogant, CLS mgt resonates in many ways.At present CLS is suffering from large construction projects until at least end of 2026 (running late so most likely 2027) and amazingly the temporary arrangements that CLS mgt has set up are just plain cheapskate and unusable. The huge tent that acts as the Pool Bar is unusable as very loud in any wind, soulless, hot in any temp above 22C and menu now very limited with the worst coffee on the island aka “press for expresso”.Two areas that CLS Mgt seem especially intransigent at conceding to clients requests are:1. Heating the children's/Leisure pool. It can be very cold Nov-April and with three other heated 50m pools on site difficult to understand why Mgt would, for 40 years, not want to help children ?2. Internet - with Starlink blasting fast internet anywhere in the world, the constant failure to provide fast internet to 1000 guests is amazing. Hint: if you want reasonable internet, go near the Mgt’s own offices/reception or download during office hours. Doing Zoom work calls is esp problematic. Even local Los Delores coffee shop in village has better wi fi.Good points:1. Bike Centre team are great and very helpful IF you get the bike centre staff. During breaks or staff sickness/holidays they often infill with any staff member and you can get a swimming instructor or dance, who knows nothing about bikes etc. Also the Hire Bikes, are top quality and good value now.Bike Centre - bad points - Just not enough Hire Bikes. They sell out months in advance.2. Gym - great well kitted out gym with large stretch area, it’s hours need extrending but otherwise very good and not too busy.3. World’s best Hyrox facility ? With external Hyrox kit around track and next to good Cross Fit facility its a superb improvement.4. El Largo restaurant is excellent and jewel in crown of all catering at CLS. Good team and dinner menu is superb.5. Arena dining in Square is very popular serving good pizzas, wok food but poor salad bar with little variety.6. Padel tennis - lots of courts and active 7am to 11pm. Bad points - Padel tennis hours past 9pm and light pollution is a a real pain, especially making stadium/padel court facing apartments less attractive unless you like the sounding of crepuscular grunting padel ?Overall - you come to CLS for one thing - its sports facilities, in those it excels, but at £1200 per week for a very basic apartment you do expect much better hotel mgt.

Amazing Sports Complex with fabulous facilities

    rating15 Feb 2026

Fantastic trip. Not for the faint hearted. Amzing sports facilites. Plenty of fitness classes. Paddle boarding. Padel courts - both single and double courts. Cycling and Mountain biking available. Olympic pools...............the list is endless.Staff and instructors are fabulous and very helpful. Lots of natural water fountains around the complex. Quality sports equipment for rent. The best class is at the end of the day - stretch and relax - every night - feel the difference by the end of your stay.

    Great sport but lacking otherwise.

    rating10 Jan 2026

This place lives up to its reputation when it comes to sports facilities and what’s on offer, but many aspects were not good enough in my opinion. The food in the main restaurant was really not good at all. Meat was usually over cooked and hard to come by in many of the ready made dishes. All the vegetables were over cooked to be close to inedible. Food wasn’t labelled or labelled incorrectly much of the time. All deserts were often labelled as ‘varied pastry’ above cakes, pies, mouses etc so no idea of flavour or ingredient. There were no chefs/cooking staff behind any of the counters to ask what things were. Most ingredients were highly processed and tasteless. Lunch was a real low, like warm undercooked chips were honestly a good option at times. I really regret doing the meal plan. I’ve included a pic of minestrone soup which I think was a stretch to call it that. The sports booking process is a mess. I asked to speak to someone about it on my first day and no one was available. I left my name and number and no one ever contacted me. If you are on a short break don’t expect to book into many of the classes. You can’t book before you arrive and everything that uses equipment is fully booked on arrival. The irony is I was told by a member of the Green Team that for most classes they don’t worry about the booking and just include anyone who turns up. Also I noticed that so many people cancel that sometimes a waiting list of 30 may end up allowing people on. I saw fully booked classes with waiting lists with loads of spare equipment so they could have accommodated more people. You also can’t see how big waiting lists are if you have used all your points. That means you don’t know if you should risk dropping a class you are on for a class you’d prefer as you’d risk ending up with not getting on to either. As soon as you check out on the last day everything in the app is wiped, so if you’ve checked out early in order to make classes (as I did) you then can’t see what you are booked into or what activities there are. I tried to give feedback whilst here to be constructive but it didn’t seem like anyone was interested. And there were very few opportunities. The rooms are basic and need updating. The complex is very bland - no pictures anywhere or colour. On the plus the facilities were as I expected, which was good. The sports coaching was generally good. I enjoyed it but I didn’t find it exceptional. Club La Santa, Marketing at Club La Santa, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share feedback about your stay. We genuinely appreciate guests who take the effort to explain what worked for them and, just as importantly, what didn’t.We’re pleased to read that you enjoyed the sports facilities and found the coaching to be generally good, as this is a core part of what many of our guests come here for. That said, we are sorry to hear that other aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations.Regarding the food experience, our main restaurant operates as a buffet rather than an à la carte service, which means we aim to prepare meats and vegetables to what is generally preferred by the majority of guests. We understand, however, that individual preferences vary, and we regret that the cooking style did not suit your taste on this occasion. Concerning food labelling, all dishes are normally displayed with names and ingredient descriptions by service period, but we acknowledge that occasional errors can happen and we apologise if this affected your experience. Your comments have been shared with our Food & Beverage team for review. We are also sorry for the frustration you experienced with the sports booking system. We recognise that availability, waiting lists and communication can be challenging, especially for guests on shorter stays, and your feedback highlights areas where clearer information and improved flexibility would be beneficial. This has been shared with the relevant team.Your comments about the rooms and the overall look and feel of the complex are also noted. While functionality is a priority for many of our guests, we understand the importance of atmosphere and comfort, and feedback like yours helps inform future improvements. We regret that you felt your feedback during your stay was not fully heard. Constructive input from guests is something we value, and we’re sorry if this was not your impression at the time.Thank you again for your honest review. We truly appreciate you choosing to stay with us and hope that, should you decide to return in the future, we can offer you a more positive and well-rounded experience.Kind regards

Shockingly bad, low quality, dirty and horrendous food... AVOID

    rating19 Dec 2025

So many things are terrible I struggle to understand how they justify the prices they charge!Rooms - DIRTY, and SMELLY with the added attraction of cockroachesPool - they dont provide pool or beach towelsSports - if you dont book in advance for your class you will never get into the ones you want and as they limit how many activities you can book for, invariably you just miss out on what you came to doFood - DISGUSTING, utterly horrendous food... id rather do a school canteen. Explain to me how a sports facility has shockingly poor quality food... this by far is the greatest let down... that and the lack of hygiene in the resortFacilities - the sports facilities are good, no doubt thats where the focus os, but the resort is concrete, layered upon concrete and then if you thought you had enough concrete, there is more.... so it lacks a good vibe, its hard cold and sterile and just not a place one can relax...For the price they charge - ITS CRAZILY BAD VALUE FOR MONEYCost - you have to pay like 3 months before you go which i thought was a bit strange but hey, but the cost of what you get vs the promise... its shockingly bad value I left early, cut my trip in half - was supposed to be 12 days and stayed 5/6 as had to get out of there. Club La Santa, Marketing at Club La Santa, responded to this review Dear Mr. Brown,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to read about your experience and to learn that your stay did not meet your expectations. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide to our guests at Club La Santa. We take matters related to cleanliness, hygiene, food quality and service very seriously, and we are concerned by the points you raise. Your comments have been shared with our management team and the relevant departments so they can be carefully reviewed and addressed. While we always encourage guests to contact our team during their stay so we can assist immediately, we also value feedback shared afterwards as part of our ongoing efforts to improve. Pool towels are available for purchase at Reception, and access to our sports programme is managed through a booking system to ensure fair availability across more than 80 daily activities. We regret that our dining options did not meet your expectations and appreciate your feedback in this regard. While Club La Santa is primarily designed as an active sports resort, it is essential to us that all guests feel comfortable, well looked after and able to enjoy their stay. We regret that this was not your experience.Kind regards,Club La Santa
