    Less is more

We were looking for spacious, comfortable and well equipped room ideally with its own private south facing terrace. We found all this at Bocayna plus laid back, quiet friendly and not over crowded . All the boxes ticked so far, food choices weren't vast , but that saves on waste, but we still ate very well with excellent service and variety. The bar was adequately stocked with labelled and local spirits and liquers wines cava, beer, worthy of mention here is Arturo who makes excellent drinks with care , perfection and professionalism. Other staff were all friendly, again worthy of mention are Saeed and Yassine, the team were all v good. This holiday provided us with just what we wanted.Clearly some other reviewers need to do more research and also adapt a more flexible and positive outlook. We would stay here again and again.Well done Bocayna Tacande Bocayna Village, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Dream Bocayna Village, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you very much for sharing such a detailed and positive review about your stay at Dream Bocayna Village. We are truly delighted to know that you found exactly what you were looking for: spaciousness, comfort, tranquillity, and a relaxed atmosphere. Second time at this lovely quiet and welcoming resort

    rating03 May 2026

This is the second time I've stayed at this self catering bungalow resort. And it didn't disappoint. It's the first time in all my years of travels and holidays that I've returned to the same resort. I generally enjoy experiencing new places. But I've found in the 3 years since first staying, i've always tried to find a resort (in other islands / countries) that could match it. I like it as it's quiet, the bungalow's terrace is not only fully secluded so you can have privacy, it is a sun trap and offers great views over the Las Colorados area of Playa Blanca. The reception staff are lovely, and will go out of their way to assist / recommend things to do / tours to take / help securing hire cars etc.Though it's self catering, breakfast is included as standard. I found the restaurant staff can be hit or miss in terms of knowledge (I can't eat gluten) so I had to make sure I spoke to the right person to get my gluten free bread & pastries etc. (I got a freshly bake mini baguette, mini croissant, each morning + other gf pastries were available, but not something I needed)The local shops, restaurants and bars, (5 mins away) cater for both the locals and tourists. There's also a HyperDino Express supermarket there which will easily help you stock up on your groceries (gluten free breads etc included)The bungalows are basic, but provide you with everything you need + the beds are very comfy! And yes it might need a bit of modernising here and there, but that didn't deter from my enjoyment and wonderful 6 night stay.If you're looking for an all inclusive, bells and whistles, party vibe kind of resort, with lots of tourist aimed restaurants and bars nearby, this is probably not the best place for you. But if you're looking for a chilled & welcoming resort, with a local feel, then try it out. Tacande Bocayna Village, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Dream Bocayna Village, responded to this review Thank you very much for sharing such a lovely and detailed review about your experience with us.We are especially happy to know that you chose to return to our resort for a second stay, and even more so knowing that this is the first time in all your years of travelling that you have repeated a holiday destination. Knowing that you once again enjoyed the peace and quiet, the privacy of the bungalows, and the welcoming atmosphere that we strive to offer every day truly fills us with joy and satisfaction. We also greatly appreciate your kind comments about our staff, especially the reception team, as we always aim to help our guests enjoy the most pleasant stay possible. We also take note of your observations regarding the breakfast service and gluten-free options, as they help us continue improving. It has been a real pleasure to welcome you back, and we sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you for a third stay very soon.Kind regards,

The most bizarre “4* All Inclusive” hotel, ever.

    rating30 Apr 2026

A strange feeling descended upon us when we arrived at Dreams Bocayna to an entire complex empty of people, except for one very sweet lady on reception. “Where is everyone?!” we asked, to which she replied “they’re all in their rooms.” Why? Granted the weather was overcast but for the first time ever I had arrived at an all inclusive resort where not a single person was at the bar. Very strange indeed. We were informed that lunch would be available in about one and a half hours and that snacks were available at the pool to tide us over until then (welcomed after a long day of travel!) Except the pool bar was empty, unmanned and the 3 door fridge beside it was empty. Instead we walked to the shopping complex to get a coffee, questioning the ‘all inclusivity’ of our ‘all inclusive’ resort as we paid €6 for our drinks. We returned to the hotel 10 minutes after lunch started to now unsurprisingly, be greeted by an empty restaurant. No guests, no buffet, just a single waiter who looked surprised to see us but who kindly gave us a ‘pool snacks’ menu. “Is this the lunch menu?” I asked. “Yes” he replied. The meals available were very limited - a chicken Caesar salad, a chicken sandwich, a vegetable sandwich, chips and some pizzas. We ordered a chicken Ceasar salad and a chicken sandwich and hoped for the best. They arrived at our table and our heads immediately dropped into our hands. Two of the most thinly sliced pieces of ultra processed toasted bread (the kind that smells of sugar, you know?) sandwiching a breaded chicken burger that resembles a Findos Crispy Pancake and contained very little chicken. With Dreams Bocayna clearly unwilling to invest in other forms of chicken, the breaded burger (I can’t bring myself to call it a breast or fillet) also appeared on the Caesar salad; this time plonked on a bed of mixed leaves and drenched in a mayonnaise dressing and grated cheese. We didn’t eat either. As we returned to the reception to collect our room key we asked the sweet lady on reception if the ‘pool snacks’ menu would be all that was available during our week stay. Her face flushed slightly and she admitted that while the hotel had so few guests, it would be all that was offered. Finally it clicked - they weren’t “all in their rooms”, they simply weren’t here. Our room at least was pleasant. As mentioned in other reviews, they’re a little dated and rough around the edges but they’re spacious, clean and the terraces are private. We laughed that maybe each room has cooking facilities so that you don’t have to use the restaurant…Dinner was available at 7pm which felt like a lifetimes wait after only having an airport croissant at 5am. My experience of all inclusive resorts previously has been banquets of food laid out on tiered shelves; colourful salads, cooked-while-you-wait meats, fresh fish and vegetables prepared 5 ways.At Dreams Bocayna there is a shelf inside the restaurant with 4 dishes to choose from “pork, beef, fish and vegetable”. “What is the fish?” I asked, and to her dismay, the hostess left to find the chef. (It was Sea bass, possibly)The need to pick one of the 4 dishes was urgently forced upon us while we eyed the ‘buffet’ from across the room. At this point a quick assessment needed to be made about whether you could form an adequate meal from the selection or whether an Al a Carte choice needed to be made. We both chose one of the dishes and waited 20 minutes for it to arrive from the kitchen; luke warm and un-enticing. The buffet selection wasn’t much better. Clearly the previous nights meat/fish leftovers, a pizza and some chips, a few bread rolls and a salad selection that just made you feel sad. The desserts were unlabelled so the only excitement of the evening came from the ‘pot luck’ game of discovering whether “that grey coloured mousse” was chocolate flavoured or not. Now I realise some holiday makers can make the best of a dire food offering. However in an all inclusive resort, it’s my belief that food and drinks should be offered with enthusiasm and passion - and in abundance. Being unable to get any food and barely a drink between the hours of 10.30am when “breakfast” ends and 1pm when “lunch” begins felt more like being in a detention centre than a luxury resort. After paying £2,000 for a week stay, I needed more boxes ticked than just a large room with a terrace and a friendly receptionist. It seems Dreams Bocayna are happy to charge guests full price but offer a half service. In my opinion, it is irrelevant whether your hotel is at full capacity or 20%; the service level should remain the same - apparently 4* (it’s definitely not)With only 7 days booked off of work and a need to make the most of our holiday, we decided to cut our loses and book an earlier flight home. Life is short and we couldn’t bear to waste it at this hotel. Tacande Bocayna Village, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Dream Bocayna Village, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your stay at Dreams Bocayna. We must admit that we are quite surprised by several aspects of your review, particularly as none of these concerns were communicated to our reception team during your stay, who would have been more than happy to assist or clarify any misunderstandings.Dreams Bocayna is a very small boutique-style resort with only 48 units, and many of our guests specifically choose us because of the peaceful atmosphere, privacy, private terraces, sea views, and relaxed environment. During low season, it is completely normal for the hotel to feel quieter than larger resorts, and in fact many of our returning guests highly appreciate this tranquility. For this reason, we believe your expectations may have been more aligned with a large-scale 5-star all-inclusive resort, which is a very different concept from our property.Regarding our food and beverage offering, we would like to clarify several inaccurate points mentioned in your review. At lunchtime, guests are offered both buffet selections and freshly prepared hot dishes depending on occupancy levels.• The buffet includes a complete salad bar with a minimum of 10 different fresh crudités and ingredients daily.• In addition, guests are offered cold platters, fresh fruit selections, pizzas, chips, and various warm dishes presented in heated buffet stations to maintain the appropriate serving temperature throughout service.• We would also like to clarify that the lunch menu and the pool bar snack menu are two separate services with different options available throughout the day. Lunch service is available from 13:00 until 15:00, while the pool bar snack menu is available daily from 11:00 until 23:00, except during restaurant service hours and until 19:00.For dinner service:• Guests are always offered a minimum of four freshly prepared à la carte dishes in addition to an extensive buffet selection.• These dishes are prepared fresh directly from the kitchen every evening and are not pre-cooked or reheated.• Alongside these freshly cooked options, the buffet includes a wide variety of salads, cold platters, warm dishes, accompaniments, desserts, and fresh fruit.• All dishes are clearly labelled with descriptions, including the type of fish or meat being served.• In addition, the dinner menu is always available for guests to consult at reception as well as through the hotel application. Our breakfast buffet also offers a wide and balanced selection of hot and cold options including:• Croissants, pastries, pain au chocolat, baguettes, sliced bread, rolls and multigrain bread• Traditional fresh churros• Pancakes with fruit• Fresh fruit and fruit in syrup• Cold cuts and cheeses• Fresh tomatoes and toasted sandwiches• Yogurts in several varieties• Hot dishes such as beans and grilled vegetables• Live cooking station with freshly prepared omelettes• Cereals, muesli, nuts and toppings• Coffee machines, teas, milk and juicesRegarding beverages, drinks are available throughout the day under the all-inclusive programme. Breakfast service operates from 08:00 until 10:30, and the bar opens again at 11:00. Therefore, there is only a short 30-minute interval during which bar beverages such as coffee are temporarily unavailable outside restaurant service hours.Bar service is staffed daily from 11:00 until 23:00 in accordance with the all-inclusive schedule. While we fully respect that every guest may have different tastes and expectations, we do feel it is important to provide future readers with a balanced and accurate description of the services offered at our hotel. We are pleased to read that you appreciated the spaciousness, cleanliness, private terraces, and friendliness of our reception team member.Kind regards,Dreams Bocayna Management Team

    DO NOT go all inclusive

    rating30 Apr 2026

We have just returned from a week at the Bocayna Village hotel. We have good and bad points to mention so will start with the bad.As my friend and I have mobility problems that require assistance at the airport we requested a room near the amenities. Well on the 2nd floor almost at the end was what we got. Room 22. They said that was all they had! There are stairs everywhere with a majority not even having hand rails to hold onto and although there are slopes we wouldn't say the hotel is accessible. Don't go all inclusive at the food is a joke! Breakfast is the normal offerings but the fruit they provided was either out of a tin or frozen with a fruit bowl at the end which contained very over ripe fruit. There is one little 2 slice toaster but that didn't seem to be a problem as not much choice of bread to toast. You can't get a drink until 11am. Not even coffee. The bar is not commonly manned when open. You have to ring a bell and wait. Sometimes for long periods. So onto lunch. The only hot food was pizza and chips. The rest mainly being leftovers from the night before. Salad was a joke as they didn't have any leaves or tomatoes. Deserts are out of a packet/freezer with some luminous coloured offerings. Everything is processed. Nothing is fresh. We complained about lunch, the next day a little more choice appeared. But always tuna, no other protein to have with the salad. Move onto dinner. They do offer a choice of 5 meals on display that they will prepare for you but mostly they were luke warm so obviously not prepared freshWe also complained about this so then had dinner brought to us on warm plates and maybe on 2 occasions the food was hot. It seems they must have told all the staff as they all started to make jokes about it to us like was it too hot/too cold etc. In the end it was like they were taking the micky. BTW if you go don't look up at the fans in the restaurant, they are filthy. Can't imagine what would come off them and go on your food if turned on.There is nowhere inside to sit and have a drink in the evening and as its early in the season its quite cold in the evening so people got a couple of drinks to take back to the room. Its like the hotel decided to go all inclusive on a budget. They even refill branded bottles of alcohol with something out the back. Although tasted nice so not fussed. We also agreed to have a late check out but on the day they phoned us and said we had to get out by 12. After a lengthy discussion they agreed we could stay til 2Now for the good bits The bungalows are very spacious and well equipped. A little TLC wouldn't go amiss but we were happy for the week. We had really low sunbeds on our terrace so asked for them to be changed. We had to remind them the next day. We went out for the day and when we got back they had changed the sheets on the bed not the sunbeds. We did laugh at this as we had now become the complainers in room 22. The pool area was mainly deserted so no problems bagging a sunbed. Result! Seems people stay on their terraces which I have to say were a definite bonus. Pool was very cold but it was mid April so to be expected if not heated.Other than the fans in the restaurant they seem to keep the place clean and tidy. Staff are nice and friendly This hotel isn't for anyone with mobility issues and is quite out of the way but there is a bus stop down the road which we didn't try but taxis were very efficient and excellently priced so we used them. So in a nutshell .. bungalows are nice and spacious, no fighting for sunbeds, food was mainly not good and barely warm. Don't go all inclusive. Staff are friendly and helpful.
