    A nice relaxing holiday.

    rating07 Jun 2022

Just got back from a week at Villa A. I never read any comments and we went purely on the name of the Villa being called ‘Mamma Mia’. I am very glad I did not read the comments as it would have drawn a bad picture. Yes the Villa is across the road from a hotel construction sight, the noise was not that bad and did not bother us. The accommodation itself was good, comfy beds and neutral decor. I think lots of people just comment on the bad things about places and I personally feel that shouldn’t be case. From reading the comments some people are very petty and clearly calm down. The Villa is in a great location close to many shops, restaurants, and bus links. Communication with the host was via What’sApp and was fine telling us all the information about the alarms etc. Going from one of the comments commenting on the hosts English is outrageous and should not be a ‘bad’ thing. I would type what I was sending in English and then Google translate it to Spanish and send both. This made communication more clear. Apart from some small things that aren’t even worth ‘complaining’ about the Villa it’s self and really good and we enjoy our first holiday since 2017. We have re-booked to come back next year. *Do not let other comments put you off from going, there is too much negativity going on and with places re opening up from Covid people need to more more kinder*

Great food. But rooms are naff

    rating16 May 2022

I booked a premium room, I’d hate to see the standard rooms. Very tiny, no window, no balcony just a weird outdoor space by the front door which had no sun. The hotel is made up of little buildings, mainly just one storey, which are a little dated. Good location, close to a nice quiet beach with a couple of decent restaurants. Staff were friendly and food was great, loads of choice. The pool was nice and there were two bars and a snack bar. Was ok if u didn’t really want to spend too much time in the room.

    Villa? Average. Rates? Poor

    rating15 Dec 2021

It had been two years since we had a holiday, so because of that it seemed a good idea to roll out the red carpet and go for something special. It was expensive (€2110 for 10 days) and that was after a discount, but I thought, based on what I had seen, it could be worth it.Oh dear no.What looked to be a fantastic holiday was a figment of their imagination.I will make sure anybody that ventures here will do so at least knowing some of these problems. You can read this, or you can move on.Take the website:“It definitely has that wow factor, with a modern design and great interiors.” – partly true – it was modern, but “great interiors”? No. The interior is worn & well downstream.Kitchen – website states “An elegant kitchen with all kinds of luxury to prepare some dishes with our local gastronomy” - very basic implements. An ancient fridge which has the insides from a different model – broken drawers & drawers that won’t work.Bedrooms – there was a double bed which we used - it had one pillow cover, the other excluding cover. Between the four single beds we found another cover (and that was it). The sheet was just enough to fit over the (uncovered) mattress, but the minute you lay on it, the sheet came out so we were left lying on a bare mattress. There was no other “linen” stored anywhere in the property.“The interior of the ground floor is designed with exotic plants from the Isla Palmeral and aromatic plants with the stone of Lanzarote.” – nothing when we were there. The pool was the only thing that fitted the description – unfortunately though right across the road (about 50 metres) is a massive hotel development – at least six tower cranes (see picture). The workmen started at 7.00 (sometimes earlier) and they worked until 7.00 at night at least 5 days a week - endless noise. If we had been told up front, we could have made a decision, but obviously they decided that it would be best to get us there & nothing was said - not a single mention.Parking outside (see picture) was “challenging” with all the site traffic parking there 7.00am to 7.00pm.What we thought was included (from website) were‱ "Lounge flat screen TV" - very small (not 43"), virtually nothing worked (see picture)‱ "DVD player" – sorry, no.‱ "1 Main Bedroom: 1 Double bed with private bathroom, safe (Wardrobe), TV, air conditioning and music" Safe – it didn’t work according to the instructions. After two days and numerous calls to Maria (she will appear later) someone arrived. She spent quite some time getting it to work (the written instructions were wrong) but if you imagine working with someone who doesn’t speak English there was no confidence that whatever we put in cold be got back out again. No TV, no music‱ "Jacuzzi and Hydromassage Showers with views of the garden, ideal for a romantic evening." The shower was absurd – no pressure (see picture). Jacuzzi (if you wait a long time to fill) had no view to the garden. The lighting in the property (in & outside) had many blown bulbs – nobody has been checking.Downstairs is this odd room (TV was here) – there was stuff sitting with wires disconnected, things which had no instruction plugged at random some not – unusual in the extreme. (see picture)Maria Garcia. This is the name that (apart from the villa) should be avoided at all costs. Her name shows her as “Manager Villas Mamma Mia in Lanzarote”WhatsApp is her preferred means to exchange. Despite being told by me not to use it. From 5th November I have probably two dozen messages from her using it. Her English is poor & she does not understand what was being said. That may sound conceited but their website is English, I speak English and my money is English – she cannot rely on “Yo no hablo ingles“ when things get difficultThere were lots more – nobody called, no cleaners when we were there for 10 days, no changes of linen. Nothing that was seen as “extra” was there. To draw this to a close:Website – take it with a large pinch of salt – it is farcical.Maria Garcia – do not believe her.Villa – if you can go somewhere else, do it.If you can’t it’s not all bad, but worth less than half what they are asking

    WARNING DO NOT STAY

    rating05 Oct 2021

WARNING DONT STAY HERE !After complaing to maria about things around the property that didnt work and asking why she didnt fill the need to tell us about the massive construction site opposite and only 23 meters from property with six crans over looking garden . (As you can imagine noise was horrendous)She told us she had informed us and it was over 500 meters which is a total lie. There was bare electrical wiers behind tv down stairs Maria told us we was bad people and that we had caused all the damage .We was horrified with her response after she told us to leave her property that day after being there for only two days with our 13 yr old daughter and she was keeping the deposit and not refunding any money.(5days left) to pay for all the damage we didnt cause. ( just down to bad maintance) we paid ÂŁ 1250 and feel completely ripped off and decived. Please dont trust Maria Garcia hernandez shes the worst host ive ever come across and she will lie to you.
