  Excellent Stay - So much we'll be back in a few weeks!

  Well we have just returned after an 11 night stay at Flamingo Beach and both us and the children really didn't want to come home! So much so we have booked to return in July! The staff at the hotel are wonderful and we're very accommodating with our room request! We were so pleased to be given the room we wanted and it really added to our holiday!.The hotel was as good as when we came in April 2025! Clean and tidy with a team of staff that work super hard keeping the resort looking great for us to enjoy. Yes some of the room fixtures are abit tired but ultimately rooms are cleaned daily and any issues are quickly rectified by the staff.Food at the hotel is great and we always found something to eat at lunchtime and dinner time. We also particularly enjoyed the complimentary meal at the taverna. One improvement I would like is a better more fresh cocktail selection but it didn't really affect our holiday as we don't drink much anyway! The children adored the kids clubs and the entertainment, getting involved with pool side games and the evening shows really made it special. I have to give a special mention to Lauren in the entertainment team who has left a massive impact on my two boys who really loved spending time with her! We really hope you are still there in July when we return! Evening shows both professional and in house were good fun and we particularly liked the music bingo and the quiz storm! The pools at the hotel are fine once in. Being may yes they were a little cold at times but during the 30degrees days we had they were much needed refreshment! The kids didn't mind either way and had lots of fun in them! There was always sunbeds available during our visit but yes for the prime spots you do need to be down early which is the case anywhere nowadays I would say! It was good to see the staff actively monitoring unused beds in the morning.Location wise this hotel is perfect on a beautiful beach and close to local towns and amenities! We hired a car and took our own island tour which was fantastic and great to have a hotel with adequate parking facilities! In summary we have once again enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to be back in one of our happy places! Thank you for having us and see you in July!   First family holiday

  Wasn't too sure what to expect based on reviews but overall the hotel exceeded expectations. We travelled with our 6 month old baby and the hotel was ideal for a first family holiday. Food was good quality and varied. Loved that they had canarian potatoes and mojo most days! Nice to see local fish on offer too. Live cooking stations were great also. Beer, wine, sangria and soft drinks are self serve in the restaurant which we actually prefer as no waiting on drinks. Only complaint regards eating was it was a little tight especially with the pushchair- that said, we did always manage to find space. Room was ok- couple of comfy sofas, table and chairs, fridge, 2 burner hob, sink and microwave so ideal if you've got a baby/ small children. Beds were comfy enough but two singles pushed together that slid around whenever you moved and had mattress toppers that started to sort of hang off. Travel cot was provided (although we did have to ask at reception for this) and was clean and safe and our girl was happy enough in it (mattress protector was noisy though- bear in mind if you have a fidget baby!) nice touch was wine, crisps, biscuits and juice left in the room when we arrived. Take your own toiletries as shower gel and soap are in refillable dispensers and not the best. The only major issue we had was water. We had no hot water to start with although this was rectified after notifying reception. The hotel was experiencing some water pressure difficulties and reception explained that this was being worked on (think it was a wider local issue) One morning we couldn't get a coffee at breakfast as the water was off. We did feel communication about this could have been better- signs or posters would have been useful. Also, bottled water could've been offered that morning ideally.Location is great for a beach holiday as Playa Flamingo is literally max 5 minute walk from anywhere on the complex and is a lovely beach with a couple of shops and restaurants. You can also walk into town or towards the lighthouse very easily along the promenade. Pools were all clean. Gets busy around the main pool and could be tricky to get a sun lounger in busy times but that is mostly because of selfish guests. There is clear signage that you aren't allowed to reserve sunbeds but that didn't stop people dumping towels down early morning! Feel like this could be better enforced maybe? Overall, a great hotel for a family holiday and would return when our daughter is a bit older and can enjoy the entertainment and kids pools a bit more.   Rather disappointed as this hotel is really suited to parents and children and not couples. We arrived late which wasn’t a problem until we went into the bar and told we couldn’t have a glass for wine only a plastic beaker and this was at 10:30. The noise was extremely loud due to families with children and I have no problem about that but there wasn’t a quiet area where you could enjoy a drink in peace, so we ended up either taking a drink back to the room or going to another bar off the complex. When we entered the room , we were in room 12D, there was no electricity and we had to call reception to have it fixed, this happened 3 times. I later discovered that that main switch would trip so I’d then I would just flick the main switch back again, I complained about the outside light not working and was told that the outside switch was faulty and would be replaced but it never was. The light switch just inside the door didn’t work so we had to leave a light on when leaving in the evening otherwise we’d be fumbling around in the dark to turn the lights on. There’s no full length mirror which my wife was very disappointed with as she says a woman needs to see herself before going out especially in the evening. The standard of the room is in need of updating as it’s looking very tired.There’s an adult’s area in the restaurant which was fine but could do with a good clean due to splash marks on the walls so we ended up sitting on the centre tables. The area around the coffee machine could also do with a good clean.Food was of a good standard with a reasonable choice for all. The porridge was the best I’ve ever had and I had to compliment the chef when I saw him. Pool and pool area was very good as were the sun beds which you never had think of reserving, plus you had the option of other pools which were quieter. The snack bar wasn’t open for the first few days after arriving which was the 1st May but opened on the 5th and had a nice selection of snacks.Entertainment staff around the pool were really nice and friendly as were the reception staff, restaurant staff were quite sombre but then it was quite hectic in there so understandable. Bed linen wasn’t changed so we had to go and asked and then only the pillow cases were changed. The location is good due to a lovely bay with safe swimming and beach. There’s a lovely walk into PB although the promenade is well worn in places and is a problem for people with walking difficulties. Overall this is not the Tui Blue standard (even though TUI are still advertising it alongside all the other TUI Blue hotels) that I’ve had before due to the fact that there’s no real option for couples in the evening if you’re AI as there’s no quiet area or bar for adults so you need to be willing to go to other bars and pay for your drinks. Would we return, definitely not as it’s not geared for couples and it’s very tired looking.   Location great. Friendly staff and hotel rooms were spotless. Value for money, very quiet hotel. Pool areas lovely. Great for kids too. Food was amazing. Lots of choice. Please be aware. SMOKING is only allowed on your balcony or terrace with an ashtray There is one designated area. It’s a bench on the walkway through the hotel with an ashtray. You can smoke walking along the pathways BUT there is no ashtrays anywhere so people stump there ends in the plants or on the floor. You can’t smoke at the pool bar or terrace either but can stand again on the walkway(a low wall separates. My opinion. They should make this hotel a NON smoking or designate more areas with ashtrays. Other than that. Great hotel.
