    Great family holiday

    rating22 Apr 2026

I don’t understand some of the opinions. I was there with my wife and 15-year-old son. It’s a great hotel for families with children: there are two pools for younger kids, one for older children, and a large adults-only pool for hotel guests. There is also a water park with slides, a Dino Park for children, a playground, and a small sports field. It’s not really a typical hotel building but more like a small holiday village with beautifully maintained paths and greenery. Everything is clean and well-kept. The rooms are comfortable, with cozy beds, a bedroom with a balcony, a large terrace, and a spacious bathroom with a shower. For us, it was perfect. The rooms were cleaned daily, towels were fresh, and the staff was friendly and always smiling. It’s all-inclusive. I didn’t drink alcohol, so I can’t comment on that, but the food was fine — everyone can find something to eat, although not everything will suit everyone’s taste. The drinks were okay for us, and the coffee from the machine was also fine. The downside is some guests who forget basic manners and leave a lot of mess behind, especially in the dining area (although it is cleaned quickly), and also around the pools where people leave rubbish under the sunbeds with half-eaten food. Another annoying thing is people reserving sunbeds in the front row early in the morning with towels, then only showing up after lunch — sometimes just to pick up the towels and go out. That was quite frustrating.Overall, I have no complaints about the hotel or the staff. For the money and the all-inclusive offer, I got exactly what I expected. I relaxed and left very satisfied. In my opinion, it was a very positive experience — maybe if it were more expensive, the guests would behave more politely 😉We had a car, which made it a great base for trips.

Very run down hotel and very disappointed in my stay

    rating22 Apr 2026

We were very disappointed with our stay. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the property was not as advertised and was extremely run-down, especially considering how much we paid for this holiday. When we got to our rooms, one had a strong damp, musty smell, and the light fitting was hanging off. We reported this to reception, but it took a long time to be understood that we were not willing to stay in that room. Eventually, we were moved, but the replacement room was not much better. The fridge in one room was rusty, and in the other, it smelled strongly of sour milk. We had to remove the shelves and leave them on the balcony for the duration of the stay, and we couldn’t use the fridge at all.Cleanliness throughout was very poor. The rooms were not cleaned to a good standard—the floors were consistently dirty and never smelled fresh. On multiple occasions, housekeeping removed used towels but failed to replace them, forcing us to go to reception in the evening (around 5–6pm) to request new ones. The pool areas were also concerning. The kids’ pool was often unclean, with rubbish left behind by other guests, including empty alcohol containers and cigarette waste. The toilets by the pool were in a terrible state—floors constantly flooded, no toilet roll available, frequently blocked, and generally very unhygienic. My daughter refused to use them, and we had to return to our room every time she needed the toilet.Dining was equally frustrating. There were rarely enough clean cups or plates available, and we often had to search through multiple items just to find something usable.Overall, this holiday was not worth the money we paid, and the standard of cleanliness and maintenance was far below what we expected.

Guests have ruined the potential of this hotel

    rating19 Apr 2026

Unfortunately the reviews I had read about the cleanliness and the overall guests were true. Swimming pool area / overall resort: I have never seen so much rubbish on the floor and so much mess around a holiday resort. It was embarrassing ! Dirty people spending the whole day at the pool and piling up cups and food and leaving it all on the floor. Kids were splashing - running into you - water guns everywhere so never a peaceful time. I think the hotel has given up and now allows the guests to do whatever they want. I can see the potential of it but the guests are just too disgusting and disrespectful. Weed smell was quite common, loud neighbors in the evening, people fighting around the tables at dinner/lunch, you name it !! Room: The room was spacious and cleaners came everyday but beds were a bit hard so my partner had a bad back. No shower gel in bathroom so had to buy some.Yellow stained pillows and stains on bedsheets, not the best standards. Restaurant/Food: Food was very repetitive and not much option for desserts. Plates and glasses were not cleaned properly.Birds eating from the plates and just flying in the restaurant. Good pizzas were made fresh though! Guests were coming in the restaurant bare foot ! No hygiene + no manners once again (some were leaving a disgusting mess behind them).Positives of our holidays: We had rented a car so we had an amazing time going to the beaches (playa de las Mujeres / Papagayo (with an amazing lunch at the restaurant there) - Ranchos Texas for a day was the highlight of our stay! The market in Rubicón Marina was amazing too (Wednesday and Saturday mornings). Great beaches in Playa Blanca too ( Playa Flamingo being the biggest and nicest in our opinion) Splash pool area:Our toddler loved the splash pool area and we spent almost a whole day there as there was also a playground with sand. Not many guests were there (no bar in sight) so it was much more peaceful and relaxing (although sun beds were run down a lot of them were broken). Overall it was a cheap holiday so we were not too disappointed and made due with what we got but I think overall the most shocking thing was how the guests behaved and how they are trashing down this hotel that could be a much better place. BONUS: free parking everywhere so I recommend renting a car + Beautician and mini corner shop on site so that was a plus! Great place for families plenty food choices but only 1 resteraunt with 2 seating areas pool bar food not great but on all day apartments basic but spacious but the beds are terrible barely slept & kids beds are just sheets and pillow made up on 1 side of a corner couch that was like a play centre material both beds and couch like sleeping on an ironing board we all had sore backs! Didn't need to get up early for sunbeds was plenty around & the water park was good 👌🏼 Hoteles Lopez, Director General at Hotel HL Paradise Island, responded to this review Dear Paradise58038461673,thank you for sharing your feedback about your stay.We are pleased to hear that you found the hotel suitable for families and enjoyed the food variety, as well as the water park and availability of sunbeds. At the same time, we are sorry to read that the comfort of the beds did not meet your expectations and that this affected your rest. Basic family holiday

    rating14 Apr 2026

Everyone says honest review and this is mine some will love it and some will hate it, Hotel:To be fair the hotel is fine, basic and AI food standard with watered down alcohol same old same old, but you can’t pay peanuts and expect champagne like some,Our room was spotless with cleaners coming everyday (who are very polite) we also don’t live like farm animals and kept our room clean and tidy so no bugs for us.Water park is a blast and is far enough from the bar that the Jeremy Kyle rejects can’t be arsed to wonder so it’s relatively quiet unlike their watering hole (pool bar). Yes the hotel is rough around the edges but it’s good enough for the price we paid, some of the guests let it down, I found the Essex/ Cockney the most intolerable. I witnessed a woman screaming at a life guard because he asked her to take her necklace off on the slide, to be fair if it ripped her head off her body probably wouldn’t notice for a couple of weeks 🫣.We had a hire car so didn’t spend every waking moment at the hotel, think I would have killed myself. We also never used the bars on a-night so can’t comment but the amount of times the police attended says it all.The food court can be another whole experience, you get dinner and a show. We loved nothing more then watching some of the wildlife’s offspring load a plate full chips spilling half of them all over the floor then moaning the cleaners don’t clean up 🙄, be warned some of the Jeremy Kyle rejects come to life in the food hall and it is disgusting. Tips:Get a hire car, ours was about €120 for our stay cheap as chips and saves you from the Jeremy Kyle guests.Don’t park said car against traffic €40 fine as I found out.Explore the island loads to see and do.Barneys in town was a blast with live acts Monday - Saturday at 9:45 great atmosphere and friendly staff with great prices. This sounds like a negative review but it’s really not the hotel is fine, once you get the lay of the land we had a great time and it was a good base. With friendly staff 😁 Enjoy Hoteles Lopez, Director General at Hotel HL Paradise Island, responded to this review Dear stevewT1056VG,thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding your stay in April 2026.We are pleased to read that you found the hotel to be a solid base for your holiday and that you especially appreciated the cleanliness of your room as well as the friendliness of our housekeeping team and other staff members. We also take note of your comments regarding the water park, the surroundings, and your overall impression of the hotel.
