    AL A CARTE

    rating17 May 2026

Lovely hotel with great rooms while holidaying on the prestige all inclusive. The spa is fabulous we have used every day so far.The Al a carte however is certainly not al a carte, we booked and you have to select the main course when booking. Upon arrival you are given a glass of fizz then seated, the waiter comes over to take your choice of starter and then also asked what you would like for desert.Unfortunately the only choice of starter that I would eat was the sane as my main course choice, not their fault so I skipped the starter. I asked If I could choose desert at the end and that was ok.My husband was served all 3 courses with 25 minutes of us arriving. My main course of Salmon was over cooked and dry, he enjoyed his courses but it was just far too fast. The table setting was certainly not al a carte. It could possibly have been better another night, but the night is allocated to you on arrival.I went back yo the prestige dinning room for a far better meal.I have done al a carte in many other hotels and I think this hotel could learn a lesson or 2.Over all the hotel and spa are lovely and well worth booking. Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso Spa Team, Marketing at Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa, responded to this review Dear Susan R, thank you for leaving your review. We are pleased to know that you are enjoying your stay with us and that both the room and the spa have been to your liking. We are delighted to hear that you have been able to enjoy the spa every day during your holiday. We are sorry, that the Prestige dinner experience did not fully meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that this special dinner is offered once a week in our El Puntal venue and features a set menu with different starter, main course, and dessert options organised in advance for the service. We sincerely appreciate your comments regarding the pace of the service and the presentation, as they help us continue reviewing every detail of the experience we offer our guests. We are pleased to know that, despite this, you enjoyed the rest of the hotel’s services and especially our Prestige dining room.We hope you continue enjoying your stay and that we will have the opportunity to welcome you again on a future visit to Lanzarote.Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa Team

    An honest mixed review

    rating17 May 2026

Mixed reviews on the hotel. Pro’s are that the food is pretty good for an all inclusive and the alcoholic drinks are perfect. We were all inclusive and the wine and prosecco were brilliant. 👌 cocktails also great. They put on new meat for lunch and dinner and would recommend all inclusive for sure. The food service was spot on and the hotel is clean, tidy and well presented. Entertainment in the evening was really nice at the piano bar and the views were lovely outside. The pools are lovely but the top one for adults was freezing. The heated pool at the bottom was nice and warm but we were on a friends holiday away from our children so stayed at the top. We did go in a couple of times but you do have to brace yourself for the coldness. Their gym and spa is spotlessly clean and the gyms decent with decent machines. The marina is worth a walk down for the day or evening. Some lovely little bars and restaurants. Puerto del carmen is a cab ride away and worth a night out if you want something a bit more lively.Cons: cocaine city. A lad and his Dad doing sniff at the bar asking any girls if they wanted some. A staff member was sat with them after he had just finished work getting drunk. One of the guys got stuck in the pool and two women were trying to lift him out. We went over to an Irish guy who was foaming at the corners of his mouth. He told us he was as high as a kite, had taken 20 Xanex, Ket & cocaine. Brilliant for children to see. We saw a woman being dealt cocaine by one of the staff members after she’d been exchanging numbers inside the main restaurant. Yes…this goes on and if didn’t effect THIS holiday as my kids were not with me but I wouldn’t be recommending it for families. I wanted to go back there with my 15 year old lad this year but that’s put me off along with the trouble we had with staff when we was checking out.On arrival we were asked for €10 deposit for pool towels which two of us paid at reception. When we checked out we gave the towels in and the receptionist Rebecca was incredibly rude. She said she wouldn’t be giving our money back as we didn’t have a ticket. We wasn’t given a ticket when we paid our money checking in. We were told we just needed to give our room number. She said “sometimes we give poor people towels when they don’t pay”. After going back & forth and her not apologising, we asked to speak to a manager. A young woman came over who was the assistant manager, Manuela. Unfortunately she had no authority over staff and was pretty useless. They found the money we had paid and we just simply wanted an apology for the way we were spoken to. Rebecca laughed, shook her head at us smuggly and walked away. She then refused to give us the key to hold our luggage unless we put the towels in the wall. The assistant manager just stood there. I never leave bad reviews and it is a real shame that this happened on our last day as it put a damper on our stay. I would have happily returned with friends. This is the only hotel I’ve been to in Lanzarote so I can’t comment on the area being rife for drugs but the hotel certainly was. If you do stay here, take earplugs. You can literally hear EVERYTHING through the walls. Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso Spa Team, Marketing at Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa, responded to this review Hello N4194MDesaharThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to read that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay, especially our food and beverage offering, the cleanliness of the hotel, the entertainment, and the facilities. However, we are very concerned by your comments regarding drugs. Please be assured that the hotel has a zero-tolerance policy towards drug consumption and distribution, both for guests and staff members. We take these matters extremely seriously and, for this reason, we do not understand why these incidents were not reported to Reception or Management during your stay, as this would have allowed us to investigate immediately and take the appropriate action and inform the authorities about it. Regarding the pool towel deposit, we clearly inform all guests at check-in that the receipt provided must be kept and returned at check-out in order to recover the deposit. In your case, the receipt was unfortunately lost and, due to a human error, the Reception counter-ticket had been archived under the wrong date. Nevertheless, the matter was resolved and your deposit was refunded in full.We are also surprised by your comment regarding the luggage room key, as the key was provided to you when requested. We sincerely regret that your last-day experience affected your overall impression of the hotel, as our intention is always to provide a pleasant and professional service to all our guests. Your comments have been shared internally in order to continue improving our procedures and guest experience.Best regards HOTEL COSTA CALERO THALASSO & SPA TEAM

    A gem by the Marina

    rating17 May 2026

Fantastic hotel. We booked via Jet 2 as let down with another tour operator going to Playa Blanca. So pleased as we found this gem and was CHEAPER. I booked this hotel due to trip advisor reviews and as always was not let down. We normally go adults only but as previous reviews there are only a few kids who were super cute and not noisy and added to the lovely atmosphere of hotel. Plenty of pools to swim in. Excellent room and fantastic food. Short walk to the gorgeous Marina. Longer walk to Peurto Del Carmen but hotel also provide a free bus. Super Dino large supermarket outside hotel. Laid back hotel and you will not want to leave. Excellent yoga and pilates classes many thanks to the staff. Have booked again next year and will practice my yoga skills ready for the classes. PS small amount building work but done sympathetically Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso Spa Team, Marketing at Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa, responded to this review Dear TheWiltshireWanderer, thank you for leaving your review. We are absolutely delighted to know that you discovered our hotel and that your experience exceeded your expectations from the very beginning. We also love knowing that the yoga and pilates classes became a special part of your holiday. We will gladly share your kind words with the entertainment team, who will be delighted to hear them.We also appreciate your understanding regarding the improvement works currently taking place in some areas of the hotel.Knowing that you have already booked again for next year is, without a doubt, the best compliment we could receive. We will be delighted to welcome you back and to see your yoga progress in the next classes.See you soon in Lanzarote.Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa Team

    Needs some TLC

    rating17 May 2026

Still a good place to stay but starting to show signs of wear and tear in the furnished areas.Still a lot of scruffy looking sun beds too that are in need of replacement. The food ,service and cleanliness remain at an high standard although evening/Night time bar service could be better. There’s been a nice change to the grassed area pool bar.Out of the hotels control but the marina’s not the attraction it once was. Many shops closed but the bars and restaurants remain busy. Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso Spa Team, Marketing at Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa, responded to this review Dear HonestMrO, thank you for leaving your review. We sincerely appreciate your continued trust in us and your kind comments regarding the food, cleanliness, and service received during your stay.We also take note of your comments regarding the condition of some areas and the sun loungers, as they help us continue improving our facilities. We are currently carrying out different improvements and refurbishment works throughout the hotel in order to offer our guests an even more comfortable experience.Likewise, we appreciate your feedback regarding the service at Mataleñas bar and will share it with our team as part of our ongoing improvements. We are pleased to know that you liked the refurbishment of Jameo bar and we hope to welcome you back to Lanzarote very soon.Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa Team

    It was NICE

    rating16 May 2026

Arrived back from a week in this ‘NICE’ hotel. We went with my adult children and with two 21 year olds the average age of the guests was still 60 years old. Place is spotless, rooms are nice, complex, pools, decor, sun loungers are all nice. No music around any of the pools. The odd daytime entertainment we went on eg pistol shooting was a laugh but mainly down to the head entertainment guy. FOOD, hands down the most repetitive AI we’ve ever been too. Fruit, bread, eggs all fresh and lovely for the breakfast. Fresh salad and roasted chicken were nice. Don’t get me wrong we ate a good couple of plates for dinner but we are ‘tryers’ the desserts were the standard horrible gelatine fake cream ones. The marina was literally all restaurants and the walk back up to the hotel had all blowing out of our a***** 🥵. Spa was lovely and had the best massage I’d ever had by Chloe €90. We took advice from a previous review and saved our two hours free spa time for the last day to use showers etc. The advertised à la carte restaurant is actually closed and not in use. Didn’t have much dealings with the staff so can’t really comment, we did ask them to order us a taxi one day and they had not when we went back in 20 mins later. SUNBEDS..loads any time of the day, I’m assuming the place was half empty. Overall it was NICE. If you’re going for a real quiet break you’ll love it. Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso Spa Team, Marketing at Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa, responded to this review Dear 492rebeccag, thank you for leaving your review. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed a peaceful stay with us and that aspects such as the cleanliness, rooms, pools, spa, and the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel were to your liking. We also appreciate your comments regarding the food offering and the variety within the All Inclusive service, as they help us continue reviewing and improving our services. We would like to clarify that we do not currently have an à la carte restaurant, nor is one advertised on our website or through any other channels. However, once a week, in our event venue El Puntal, we offer a welcome dinner exclusively for Prestige All Inclusive guests, featuring a menu with three choices for starters, main courses, and desserts.Likewise, we are sorry about the inconvenience regarding the taxi request. We would like to clarify that the taxi was requested initially, but due to the limited availability of taxis on the island, we sometimes need to contact the service again to confirm waiting times or vehicle availability. We are especially delighted to know that you enjoyed your spa experience and your massage with Chloe. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again on a future visit to Lanzarote.Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa Team
