Location

This charming luxury hotel is located in the tourist centre of Playa Blanca in the middle of wonderful well-tended gardens just a few minutes' walk from the town centre. It is situated directly next to the sea, overlooking the sporting harbour, Marina Rubicón. Surrounding the hotel are numerous shops, boutiques, cafés, bars and restaurants as well as a lively nightlife venues to choose from. The beautiful sandy bay of Playas de Papagayo is only around 5 km away and links to the public transport network lie 900 m away. Lanzarote Airport is about 35 km away.

Facility

The holiday village has 22 suites and 233 double rooms, which are located on 7 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The complex has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the complex feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service (for a fee), a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry, a hotel doctor and a hotel shuttle bus. Bicycle storage is available to guests. There is a bike hire service as well.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and a fan. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a queen-size bed and a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a stereo system and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub, a whirlpool bath and a bidet. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror and bathrobes are available for daily use. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The complex has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Guests can strike that perfect balance between exercise and relaxation in one of the 4 indoor and outdoor pools. The freshwater pool area, which is in part heated, also has a children's pool. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A variety of activities such as tennis, volleyball and paddle tennis or, for a fee, cycling/mountain biking, are offered at the holiday village. A number of sports are available, including water sports such as windsurfing, water aerobics and aquafit. For a fee, guests can also enjoy water skiing, motorboat rides, banana boat rides, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning, snorkelling and diving. The complex offers numerous indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, billiards, darts, squash, yoga and aerobics or, for a fee, badminton. Various wellness options are available at the complex, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon, massage treatments, anti-ageing treatments, Ayurveda treatments and a solarium. Additional leisure activities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club, a kids' disco, a dance club and a nightclub.

Meals

Dining facilities include a café, a bar and a pub. The restaurant has air conditioning and high chairs for children. Bed and breakfast can be booked. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Dinner options include a buffet, à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals, gluten-free meals and vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request. The complex also offers special catering options. The show cooking is a particularly special attraction. Non-alcoholic beverages are available.

    This hotel is truly wonderful, with a special abundance of peace and tranquility. It is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Stunning architecture with a beautiful entrance.We were welcomed by a smile and champagne.The room although dated was clean and spacious, with a lovely seating area. Plenty of storage and clothes hanging space.The food in my view was excellent, good quality and variety.The restaurant was fairly quiet and relaxed. I did enjoy an after dinner coffee, most hotel buffets do not provide. Daytime activities included yoga and Pilates with Steffi which were very Professionally presented. Aqua Aerobics in the heated pool was also popular, but only once a week. Please consider adding more Aqua Aerobics classes.Lots of sun beds by various pools available.The gym was reasonable with new treadmills. Entertainment in the evening also good with a variety of musical acts. The Motown groups and the church candle light performance were excellent.All staff appeared happy in their work and very helpful. Gaby the Guest Relations liaison lady was a real gem with a lovely caring manner.My only other suggestion would be to obtain new pillows as they were uncomfortable and lumpy in my view.There are many steps to various levels at this hotel which may be challenging for an individual with mobility issues. There are lifts available. The hotel is close to the marina and various shops, bars, eateries and supermarkets.Overall an amazing holiday and we hope to return soon.Thank you to all.

    I have just returned to the Vulcan after 12 months, the last time i was here i wasnt to impressed but the large swimming pool has gone through a major upgrade.The food hall is back to its former glory and the hotel is now looking better than ever.Staff are brilliant and the hotel is now in my opinion 5 star plus.

    Wasn’t disappointed by this hotel. Quiet location away from the main area of playa blanca. 2 kids spent time in all lovely pools. I Loved being able to do runs and walks along the coastal path easily. Husband loved the big pool for daily long swims. Didn’t see much of the entertainment apart from opera by chance walking past - it was great. Rooms are v spacious & anything I asked for was attended to eg new diffuser for hairdryer, broom for outside patio. Room always refreshed and cleaned by lovely staff. Negatives - weren’t many. I don’t think they clean the pool communal areas often enough if at all?! evening food was not brillian, snack bar expensive and understaffed a lot of the time. If you want a laid back hol with your family I would recommend this hotel but if you want lots of entertainment both in and out of the pool, it’s not one for you.

    Memorable holiday in a majestic hotel setting

    Sometimes you read reviews and are not sure how accurate they are. I can guarantee you this hotel from our experience will not let you down. We wanted to go somewhere different in Lanzarote for our 25th Wedding Anniversary which we gratefully acknowledging it with a nice bottle of Cava. At reception we encountered and lovely welcome and delighted to be told at 11am our room was ready. As we had been travelling since 2am this was a real bonus. The room 569 was excellent a view onto the marina, bright comfortable and like the rest of the hotel it was spotless and the Lady cleaning our room was lovely. The hotel is spread over a large area, and it does take some time to get your directions refined. The reception area is a haven of stillness and serenity.We only participated in breakfast in relation to food but oh my I've never experienced the quality and quantity and no matter what time you arrived the food was constantly refilled and the use of a mug if desired for tea or coffee was great. One morning with all the choice of cereals a guest requested Cornfakes within minutes they were located and were ever present on each morning thereafter. The only thing I would ask the hotel to reflect on is the availability of Lactose free milk, it was available every second morning with Soya milk on alternative mornings. I had to use the skimmed milk as soya is not to my taste.The staff were polite and friendly everywhere and when my wife went to use the hairdryer the parts didn't fit. I went to reception and within 15 minutes it was replaced. The hotel was probably not at full capacity during our stay but even if it was there is some much room its easy find quiet space. The Entertainment was nightly, but we only attended the candlelight music on the Wednesday night in the entrance hall build in the shape of a monastic shape and acoustics. What an experience it was sensational.Finally, thanks to the hotel staff and management for making our stay so enjoyable and we will most definitely be back.

    This hotel is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Perfect location right on the marina lovely views from our balcony. We checked in and we was made to feel so welcome. A glass of frizz on arrival what a lovely start to our holiday.Couldn't have asked for a better room. Sunny balcony till 8pm at night.Beautiful bed linen and a huge bed. The cleaner was outstanding and kept our room immaculate. Already booked for Christmas 5 star all the way....
