  large room ( 3014 ) star prestige room kept very clean with fresh towels offered everyday , all staff polite & helpful. All information needed given on arrival , quick check in with porter taking us to room with our luggage. Attentive staff in the bars , excellent pools & spa.   Enjoyable week away in Star Prestige

  We stayed all inclusive in the adults only ‘star prestige’ wing which had its own pool and dining area, both overlooking the sea. It was Easter holidays when we stayed so there were a lot of families with children in the rest of the hotel which meant the star prestige areas were an adults only sanctuary. The star prestige restaurant had its own entrance but connected to the main restaurant via a sliding door. There was a small hot and cold buffet selection available in the star prestige (SP) restaurant at breakfast and dinner but you can easily access the much larger selection in the main restaurant with various live cooking stations. At lunchtimes you can eat in the SP restaurant but you have to fetch your food from the main buffet restaurant. Not a major issue as it’s all very accessible. As others have said it can get busy with lots of children but it was never an issue. The staff were very helpful and you could find a much wider selection in the main buffet restaurant with good vegetarian choices too. One thing which others have commented on is that this is your only real dining option. It would be nice to have at least one à la carte restaurant. However a short walk out of the hotel, take a right along the beach towards Flamingo beach, you can find about half a dozen well priced restaurants. Most of the evening entertainment was geared towards children. There was a cabaret singer at the SP pool each evening but we were quite unlucky with the weather in April and most evenings were cool and wet. However they do have table heaters and blankets which were welcome!The adult pools weren’t heated which is a shame for the time of year we visited. They also try to enforce a single pool towel policy which quite a few people gently rebel against :-) There are daily activities around the adults pool, like yoga, aqua aerobics and lessons in things like making mojitos. The lady who fronts it all has boundless energy but was never pushy. The crowd here is a bit older so things were a little more sedate. Drinks were free flowing on the all inclusive in all the bars. Wine was ok but we had expected better quality at a Spanish resort, and spirits were branded so decent. Overall we enjoyed the Iberostar despite a few niggles. The staff were brilliant in every part of the resort and it had a proper holiday vibe to it. If you are a couple or group of adults and would prefer a holiday completely away from children then this probably isn’t the place for you.   This was our 3rd time at this hotel. We had asked for 2 rooms close together and on an upper floor. Our request was fulfilled. It’s hard to find anything to criticise about this hotel . Perhaps the room towels could be renewed? All the staff were friendly and helpful. Everyone seemed happy to be working there.The food offering was wonderful yet again. We (4 adults and 1 child): had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our break.   Exceptional service, food, drinks and entertainment

  Just back from a very relaxing week in Playa Blanca. The location is stunning with beautiful views of the sea as you sunbathe. There is a great coastal path and you can turn right or left for a walk/run to explore the area. We particularly enjoyed running to the lighthouse and back from the hotel (around 4.4 miles in total). The hotel atmosphere was wonderful. It had a very chilled out vibe with the opportunity to get involved with livelier activities such as exercise classes, pool zumba, bingo, Flamingo lessons, cocktail workshops etc. if you want to.... we mostly enjoyed just chilling by the pool in the sun and were able to do so in peace.The drinks selection was amazing. I loved the frozen cocktails which were so refreshing in the heat and the mojitos were fab. The food was also amazing. Despite there being one main restaurant, the selection changed on a daily basis and we never felt bored of the options. The service at the hotel was consistently exceptional. From arrival to departure we experienced the most friendly and helpful service in all areas of the hotel and this was one of the standout aspects of the hotel for us. The service was definitely 5* level and our expectations were exceeded throughout the week. There is table service at the outside seating areas as well as in both bars in the evening. This was wonderful. As soon as our glasses were nearly empty, someone was straight over with another drink.The hotel was very clean and well looked after throughout the day. The one and only negative aspect I can mention was the poor soundproofing in the rooms. This was an issue for our first 3 nights meaning I didn't sleep well. We had very inconsiderate and noisy neighbours directly above us who were only quiet between 2am - 7am. It sounded like they were moving furniture and dragging chairs around their room until 2am. The hotel offered to swap our room to a smaller one which we appreciated but we didn't want to leave the location of our first room and go to a smaller room so we stuck it out hoping it would improve and thankfully these people left after 3 nights and then this was no longer an issue. While we could still hear noises from upstairs, it was quiet from much earlier and sleep improved after this. The beds were also not very big or comfortable so again, this affected sleep a bit too.
