    A horrible experience.

    rating17 Sept 2025

A horrible experience here right from the start. It's called a hotel but really it's more like a hostel. 4 stars? Not a chance. No reception when we arrived. All the staff had left by 8pm. No directory in the rooms. No phone. No air-conditioning. No fridge. Holes in the bed linen and towels. Disgusting stains on the curtains. The walls had a half attempt at covering up some kind of stains too. Best of all was the rude reception staff that were accusatory and unhelpful. Dirty sand filled hot tub. The pool was fine. The breakfast was outside. So if you like battling hordes of flies this is the spot for you! Coffee machine broken two of the mornings. It's like the owners did a nice job and walked away 20 years ago. DONT GIVE THEM A PENNY.

Disappointing Stay – Rude Reception & Poor Service

    rating25 Jun 2025

Unfortunately, our stay at La Casona De Yaiza was quite disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the experience was marred by the attitude of the receptionist, who was rude, unwelcoming, and accusatory. We were told we hadn’t provided our booking details—even though we had booked through On the Beach and our information was clearly passed on by the third-party company. Instead of helping resolve the issue, the receptionist was dismissive and made us feel like we were at fault, which was incredibly frustrating after a long journey. To make matters worse, the restaurant was closed for the entire duration of our stay—something that wasn’t mentioned in advance. We had chosen this hotel partly for the convenience of on-site dining, so this was a big letdown. At night, we also experienced a lot of noise, making it difficult to get a proper rest. For a place that presents itself as a peaceful, boutique hotel, this was quite unexpected.Cleaning of the rooms was done at a usually early time of 8.30am. We are early risers so not much of an issue but we were woken up the first morning by the cleaner trying to get in to clean our room. We had checked in at 10.30pm the night before so cleaning not really needed. No cleaning was done on the last day of our stay so very hit and miss. The setting and architecture of the hotel are undeniably charming, but sadly the poor service and lack of basic amenities really overshadowed everything else. We expected a lot more and left feeling disappointed.

Lovely comfortable hotel in a semi rural location.

    rating03 Apr 2025

We stayed here during our trip to Lanzarote. Located in the quiet village of Yaiza this is a delightful small rustic hotel The room was very comfortable. The pool was a reasonable size though a little cold at this time of year. Breakfasts are buffet style with a good selection of fruit ham eggs and cakes. The restaurant when open serves quality food and has a lovely ambiance. Definitely recommend as a place to stay if you want to get away from the main tourist areas and see more of the surrounding countryside.

    good but could be better

    rating30 Jan 2025

The location in the pretty town of Yaiza is great. The restaurant is excellent- when it is open.It is usually shut Tues and Wed. Due to staff shortage the hours and menu were limited during our stay. . The breakfast is ample - cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs, bread, pastries. Cheese and hamsalami on request, if you know to ask, noone tells you.Our room was billed as a superior double room with balcony - it was really a simple double room with balcony- no chairs or desk indoors. The pillows were hard but softer ones came on asking. The 3 stars are really because of the dreadful quality of the towels which we were given until I threw a wobbly. These were old, grey ,thin and in one case in holes. It was an insult to offer these. The reception blamed the laundry but that is onsite!

Great place!! But be careful of the wine!

    rating20 May 2024

I would highly recommend staying at Casona de Yaiza. The rooms are really nice , I have seen at least two of them. The breakfast is good. Except for the music at breakfast .. it’s terrible. The swimming pool is cold but very nice. But… there is something more. There is a very nice Bodega there with good food, and where they serve a nice but dangerous local wine.. the wine may cause the effect on you that you meet a total stranger where you end up with in the hottub at the rooftop whitin 3 hours after drinking the wine. And making sweet love in the hottub under the sight of the moon and stars. It’s highly dangerous and if you drink it it will be at your own risk. Oh.. and the lady at the reception is a bit grumpy.. but further.. great place would highly recommend to book here and if karma is good, you will have a great time at Yaiza Lanzarote!
